This is at Cooper Creek Report, Branson. I don't know the guy- never talked to him... so don't call me. He bought a new boat here and is leaving for home- New Mexico- Monday and has to sell this boat by then. 06 Stattos New condition. 16 hours on the motor. Never been over 4500 rpm. Took to Bass Pro and put it on their machine. Trolling motor has been in the water once. Cover included. Bill says blue book is $12500 (to borrow at the bank) but doesn't account for practically being a new boat. No warranty on the motor, unfortunately. Pics tell the rest of the story. yes it's 70 pounds of thrust, 24 volt system. Nothing wrong with them. I upgraded- bought heavier trolling motors with variable speed. These are 5 speed. The only issue I had with them is the speed different between 4 and 5. 4 was ok but 5 will throw you in the lake if you're not careful.

We have 2 Minn Kota Edge 70 lb - bow mount trolling motors for sale. 2 years old. They're in good shape but well used. $100 each. Cheapest I've found online new is $269.00 retail on Amazon.

Fishing is finally getting better but still behind for most years due to cold water temps. Fish are becoming much more active with more frequent feeding periods. A portion of the striper population is in the upper lake/river region for spawning. Other segments of the population are located on river ledges and at the mouth of a few major coves. Good areas include mid lake sections like the Islands, Rock Creek, Platter Flats, and Caney Creek areas. Sinking lines are required as productive depths are usually 12 ft. and deeper. I have found some shallow feeding activity but it does not last long. Sand bass are actively feeding in the backs of major coves. Overall the fishing is fair to pretty good and I see it improving rapidly with warming weather and the good water conditions that we have now. A good time to catch nice size stripers. Lake Ray Roberts: Lake level normal; 57-65 degrees; very stained/muddy in much of the upper lake. Bass fishing is slow. Best areas though for good visibility and warm water include Indian Creek, Lick Creek, and Sand Creek. Fishing main lake points is also a good spring spring strategy on Roberts. Use flies that imitate shad in the manner of a soft plastic jerk bait. Lake Murray: Lake level is normal; 57-61 degrees; very clear water on lower and mid lake, stained on far upper end. Fishing is fair to good for smallmouth. Fish are in great shape and very feisty. We are just coming into the window for some great smallie action for Murray. As water temps move into the mid 60's fishing should get better and more consistent. FLY CASTING * Loop Lab is full. The May 1, " Foundations in Fly Casting" class sold out fast. Friend of mine went a few days ago and caught a ton of crappie, whites and hybrids. Fishing sounds like it's pretty good. He threw swimming minnows and jigs.

The Spring River is primed for white bass fishing... that's all I can say. It's loaded! Not huge fish but perfect size for fillets. And hard fighting. Paul Crews, a long time friend and local to Neosho, and I put in at the Hwy 10 bridge at 4 pm yesterday and headed up river past a big shoal and another 1/2 mile and started drifting and fishing the slack side of the river. It was 64 degrees and stained - perfect I though. I had a 1/8th oz white jig on from fishing here on Taney so I used it and caught fish, not every cast but I had a strike on every cast for the next 4 hours, almost. We found a small spot that had a bunch of crappie too and between the two of us we kept 20 crappie and our limits of 20 whites each. Threw bad a ton other whites. Paul used several different colors of swimming minnows but the best on the crappie was blue... swimming minnows or a white and blue tube jig. Late in the day we drifted down and tried a couple of crappie spots and didn't find any. We drifted down to the big flat/shoal on the shallow side. Just as we drifted in the shallows and the motor dragged and stopped the boat, I turned around and threw out in the big water with a small sluggos and hooked a white. We sat there for 30 minutes till it was dark-dark and caught whites on every cast on the sluggos... lots of fun. We could have stayed all night but we had a lot of fish to clean and I had a 90 minute drive home. This is perfect fly rod water... Video to follow. Warning... Paul couldn't hook a fish on camera so there's not a whole lot of action there.

The fish was almost on the bank where wind was pushing bait fish up on shore. 48 inch level beside the fish for reference. 32 inch girth.

Put in about 5 pm and tried a few places before heading in Swan. Up close to the dam in slack water. Down at Barker and the Willow Bank. Nothing. Up in Swan, we boated past the old dam. Water very clear. Did not see a white. One guy fishing the brush said he caught one white earlier. We trolled up further and saw nothing. Back down to the deeper water along the chunk rock and had one white follow a rebel. Fished all the way out to the bend- nothing. Saw one white caught before we pulled out. Water gun clear. Don't know temp.
