Greetings all. I just found this site and this is my first post. I have lived in the NEosho area for about 10 years now and have never fished Hickory Creek. I knew it was stocked from time to time with trout but figured it was fished out as soon as it was stocked and I never took the time to fish there. That is until Thanksgiving this year. My dad was in town and wanted to go fishing. He asked me about Hickory creek and we went. I took my 9 year daughter with us and in 2 hours my we caught about 10 fish in various spots up and down the creek. My wife called to tell us Thanksgiving dinner was ready and to come home. My daughter was mad because she was catching most of the fish. My dad caught a nice 2# rainbow. I have went every weekend since except this last when I went out of town. Unfortunately, I have heard that there are people netting the fish. The City of Neosho is spending money to make the park very nice but it won't attract any anglers if the MDC does not run enforcement there. I would hate to see a treasure like this go away because the conservation agents don't feel it is a priorty. If ran correctly I think that this has the potential to get very big. We just need the enforcement there.
