You can see by these reports that this year there is no oxygen below 35' so the usual 65' to 90' striper fishing is non existent this year. Sept 22 2016 oxy rept. 62 Bridge.pdf Sept 22 2016 oxy rept. dam.pdf

Probably not until spring on the bigger sizes

I get nervous about writing posts about the Bink Spoons because many of you think I'm just promoting the spoon but a lot of people are catching a lot of walleye in 30' of water now with the Bink Spoons.
-
The walleye on Bull Shoals was from the day before. If you look at the title of the post it says caught yesterday on Bull Shoals.

BINKS REPORT 9/11/16 As in photo we had a good day on Norfork this morning. We caught 4 nice stripers from 6 am to 9 am. I'll give you one guess what we were using for bait, that's right the Binks Spoon . Best depth 32 feet Best color white Best method vertical Best size 3/4 oz Keep it simple Drop a Spoon BINK

If you can't get them to hit on spoons try a 1/4 oz jig head with a green Mann's Grub on the bottom. That was working today according to Bink. 25' water.

There where three people in the boat. Larry, in the picture, his son, and Bink. In the title I was wrong, only one was caught with a worm. The rest on spoons.

This has been an unusual year for Norfork. Usually when the thermocline sets in there is oxygen below the thermocline and that's where the big stripers are. This year it got hot early and stayed hot. There is no oxygen below the thermocline so most stripers are at 30 to 35 ft. This makes it tough on Norfork because it's such a clear lake and at those depths it's easy to spook the fish. Your best bet is to use horizontal jigging so you don't spook the fish. If your fish finder supports side imaging use this feature to locate the fish.

BINKS REPORT 9/6/16 Great day on Norfork, a Client of mine caught this huge striper this morning while jigging a Binks spoon in 35 foot of water. We also caught several other stripers in the same depth. As i said before if you want big fish you got to Drop a Spoon to where the big boys are, and know with the oxygen problem that's not very deep !!!!!!!!! Keep it simple Drop a Spoon Bink

BINKS REPORT 8/31/16 Had another good day on norfork. We caught several walleye and a few stripers before 9 am and than some white bass the rest of the morning. Best bait 1 oz Arkansas shiner Best method vertical Best place any creek that had off color water Best time 6 am to 9 am Drop a Spoon Bink

What Lake did you catch the 50 lb fish on?

I've seen these color charts before but it's interesting that the hottest spoon we sell for real deep stripers second to the White Many Shad is the Red Throat. You would think they don't even see the red. Maybe it looks black or gray at 60-80' ?
