I am planning a trip down to taney a week from today. I was noticing right now that the Branson area is getting a lot of rainfall. How long does it take for the river to "clear" after a lot of rain has fallen? Also when table rock is full do they tend to let water "run" all the time or do they try to stick with a generation schedule? Thanks for the information.

Well one word. COLD. It was cold every day with the exception of Wed afternoon. Bite was pretty consistent, we boated about 31 what I would call good fish on Tuesday and Wed. Bite was a slow presentation on olive and silver micro jigs. sometimes on a dead drift. By the way they did run water on Tuesday and I saw some WEIRD stuff being washed up. Fishing seemed to slow a bit after they ran some but it could have been our imagination. Anyway for the circumstances it was a good trip.

Hi guys, We are making a trip to Taney next week and I have a couple of questions. 1. can I buy a license online anywhere? Also we are from Oklahoma what will we need? 2. It looks like rain. How much is too much before the water gets real muddy? Are there areas of the lake that are better during hard rains? 3. What are they biting on? Jigs, jerk baits? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a part time trout fisher and full-time bass fisher. I love to make it to taney once or twice a year but I really want to make it more. I absolutely love it. My brother in law and I have rented boats from Trout Hollow many times over the years. I just want to learn more about fly-fishing and especially micro-jig fishing. My family loves the Branson area and I have been going to SDC and Branson for the last 30 years. But I really didn't start fishing Taney until about 7 years ago.
