Hi Ryan, I ended up getting down to the Blunk Access that you mentioned earlier this week but was only able to fish for about 30 minutes as I was just passing through on a work route. I managed just the one crappie in the last photo. Saw some big tail fins coming up every now and again that looked like some nice sized gar. Glad I didn't hook one of those on my 2-pound line! Then just yesterday I got back out to "a location that shall not be named" (even though the photo is pretty obvious) and caught a few nice whites 3 on the fly with a purple and white clauser, and the last one on the jig shown. I keep hearing around the bait shops that late April, early May is panfish time. Does anyone know of a good spot to catch some crappy's??

@jdmidwest are there good bluegill lakes around or are you better off finding a hidden pond someplace?

Awesome Ryan! As a Minnesotan, new to Missouri and fly fishing I can't think of anything more fun that landing walleye with the flyrod! Where are these entry points you mention, "Cox, Taylor, and Blunk" are there any stretches that would be good to wade? I don't have a kayak, just some waders

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum. Just moved to Springfield, MO from Minnesoooohhh-tuh! I am a life long fisherman but new to the tricks of the trade when it comes to fishing in Missouri specifically, wade fishing, since I don't have a boat. I've gotten absolutely hooked on fly fishing and I've made several trips to Bennett Springs and Taneycomo and caught some beautiful rainbows. I've also been up to the little sac and got in on a little bit of the white bass run and that was a blast with the fly rod! I'll get to the point, I have a week long "hall pass" coming up in May where the wifey is going away on business and I'm going to try to fish every evening while she is away I am looking to try a bunch of different spots for several species and I'm willing to drive about an hour from Springfield in any direction. For the experienced local anglers on this forum: if you could try 4 different locations for bank or wade fishing in one week to catch Brown Trout, Walleye, White Bass, Crappie, or even Muskie on the fly rod or standard tackle what would be your 4 stops?? Ready,,,,go!!
