  1. I live over here in Blue Anchor. That big MTI just came in a few weeks ago. Quite a boat but probably belongs on the ocean. Guy that owns it also has 3 condos here in building 2. Rumor has it he made his money in the video gaming industry. He also has a bow rider and a pontoon. That Cigarette boat next to his belongs to some else here, but they are friends.
  2. Couldn't agree more. Maybe the new place will decrease the crazy crowd at Coconuts and tame down our Gravois arm a bit...
  3. Hey Mike, saw you on your favorite point in the Gravois last night. Any luck with the jigging spoon?
  4. Thanks for the top water tip Wrench. Haven't been out since they quit pullin water, may have give it a go...
  5. Interesting observation Wrench. Ive seen similar mixed results, but all from deeper main lake points (haven't fished shallow). Some lean, rough looking fish and some real healthy feeding up fish. Night and day difference in fish from the same school. I attributed it to the wide variance in spawning times, but that doesn't explain the sores and bad condition of some of these fish. I did note that several of the bad looking fish appeared to have been caught before. Good question for Greg Stoner.....
  6. Been following the Elite tourney in TX. Nice to see them are trying a different format. I would really support scaling it down in some fashion to the amateur level. Some good ideas on here from concerned anglers. Maybe some of the bigger events on LOZ could up the entry fee enough to cover a Polaroid Instamatic and standardized measuring tool for each boat? Include a token like Shrapnel mentioned. Total length rather than weight would be best for fish handling and care.
  7. Sure will Mike, thanks
  8. I think that was you Mike (sorry for the confusion MoSmallies). You run a deep V Alumacraft or Crestliner walleye boat? I was in a white fiberglass Lund, 175 Opti and 10hp Merc kicker. Nice blue!!
  9. We had a 3.9 and 4.1 on Sunday, both post spawn. Missed the money by .04 in last period. Not good at bed fishing and really don't agree with it, but saw lots of empty beds (or beds with guarding males). Lots of guys fishin in Blue Anchor Bay.....wow! Slid my boat off the lift at 5:45 a.m. Sunday and there was a boat already parked right behind my slip with no lights on (hope it wasn't someone on this board!). Hey MoSmallies, good thing you were not on that point across from BAB over the weekend. You would have been in the crossfire of 100 boats running in and out of those spawning coves to the west! Informally met you last summer when you caught that giant blue pulling cranks. We were doin same for crappies when we ran through that wolf pack of blues.
  10. I've been a follower for sometime but felt compelled to comment on this thread. I have a lot of respect for Fishinwrench and Big Ed and totally support their positions on this subject. I have a condo at Blue Anchor Bay and have witnessed first hand the increasing pressure from tournament anglers in the Gravois. Obviously, the last couple of mild winters have contributed to this. Still, simple math shows an incredible number of fish being relocated from the Gravois arm. The largest percentage of these end up in the Grand Glaize arm via PB2. How long can our part of the lake sustain this before the year classes of larger females diminish? I'm bit of a hypocrite when it comes to the BBB because I did fish it last year and may again this year. But, I totally disagree with the timing and refuse to bed fish. I will stay out a ways and hope for an early post spawner or late pre spawner. At least the lower end fish will stay in the lower end (point Randall and Alhonna). I would really like to see our biologist Greg Stoner weigh in on these issues.
