If it makes you feel better, I fished 3 days last week mostly in Long Creek and had little luck as well. Lot's of boats fishing down there due to the warmer water temps and hardly saw/talked to anyone catching a dern thing. We bagged a limit, but it took 3 days and one was a catfish. lol

Got a chance to come down and fish Thursday through Saturday this past weekend. We stay just south of the dam so we spent all of our time chasing warmer water down Long Creek. Not sure if anyone else got on them down there but boy the bite was tough for us. Blue bird skies, cold water, and nothing biting. I'm embarrassed to share the amount of fish that we boated in about 25 hours of fishing. There was a high point to the weekend however when I was able to hook up what I think was a good size white bass. Hit pretty close to the boat in about 15' of water on a craw inspired Wiggle Wart. I wanted to run it by the board, this is a white bass right? I didn't think there were hybrids in TR though I know a few can make their way in. The only reason I question is because I did a brief check of the length/weight estimation charts and the numbers don't seem to add up. This fish was 17" long, but a beefy 3lb 3oz. This is a pretty heavy fish according to the charts I looked at. Wasn't sure if the recent shad kill gave her the chance to get abnormally bit. What do ya'll think? P.S. Don't mind the hater in the back, he's just showing the size of the fish he caught all day.

Had a similar day to yours! One fish on a football jig in 35 ft. One fish on a Ned Rig on a gravel point in 25 ft. One fish on a Chatterbait in 15 ft. Another on a spinnerbait in 20 ft. Fished from the main lake to the back of creeks and couldn’t find them consistently anywhere.

Well hey if all things are equal to you how bout a trade? 😁 Again, I like my boat, I really do. I put in the work to get the most out of it. Nothing wrong with aspiring for something bigger/better though.

@Devan S. good points. There always seems to be plenty of empty slips to pull into should the weather turn. I will admit that you develop a different mindset when your motor is 40 yrs old, it's never failed me yet but you never know lol. A good trolling motor is always a good backup to have.

I can't complain! There is something to be said for safety on bigger reservoirs like Table Rock. I think the events of this summer reminded us all of the fact that weather can change quickly out there. When that happens, there is a big difference between a 35 hp and a 150 hp. Additionally, I have interest in casual tournament fishing, which I can't do out of the tinny for obvious reasons.

I really appreciate that! It was a fun project, though it severely diminished my fishing time last summer. Still hope to get a proper bass boat someday, but like I said my favorite type of boat is the paid for kind.

Thanks @Bill Babler. Doesn't look to be the greatest of conditions this weekend either. Our condo is at Vickery Resort which is in the southern cove of the State Park Marina point. Good news is that if the conditions are really bad there are plenty of fish to be caught in that cove alone. Just wish we could fish the docks.

Are you after bass or trout? I'm a newbie to the trout game, but always love to learn. I tried a bit this summer while kayaking the upper end of Taney, but had little luck.

Haha well it is appreciated as it is the only thing that gets me fishing unless I can bum a seat on my dad's boat. Counting the months until I can get a proper bass boat and into tournament fishing. That being said, my wife and I just welcomed our first little guy, so who knows how long that will be. My wife and I didn't exactly choose the best careers to support expensive hobbies such as bass fishing (She's a teacher, I'm a pastor) Everything has a price! Hey Folks! First time poster, long time lurker here on the boards. I'm in the KC area but fish Tablerock as much as possible as I have access to a family condo on the lake in Hollister. I'm down there later this week Thursday-Tuesday. I'll be fishing out of my dinky little 16' aluminum boat with a Johnson 35 hp (It's not much but it's paid for and gets me on the water). Just wanted to throw out there that if anyone is fishing out of their bass boat and wouldn't mind a buddy I'd love to tag along on a more able boat. I always love fishing with other folks and learning something along the way. I have all my own gear and I'm more than happy fishing from the back. Of course would be willing to chip in for gas. Staying on the lower end near State Park Marina. Hoping for a great fall of fishing and lots of tight lines! (Pic from earlier this summer)
