I started using Vanish when it came out. I mentioned it to other fishermen a few times but whenever I did I would get one of this 'you do what!' looks - so I quit mentioning it. I works far better than anything I have ever used for tippit or leader material. Sorry, I dont know the name of the knot I use to tie my leaders. It is one I was shown by a pro fisherman years ago. He never mentioned the name of the knot. It works good so I have used it ever since.

If it works the same way it did a few years ago you will only be paid for one hit from one IP address per day. In other words if I were to click on it 10 times in one day you would only get paid once for my IP address for that day. On the other hand I could hit it once every day and you would get paid one hit every day. I have checked several times but haven't seen the link on OAF or Lilleys Landing home pages today. They (Google) might have blocked it. -
Hooking Mortality of Trout: Barbed vs. Barbless

Dontcha just hate it whey you come out of the blind looking like the Michelin Man? -
I have used my fly rod for years but am by no means a pro. I plan to purchase a new outfit but because of some things I have read I am unsure as to what weight outfit to get. At first I was actually thinking about a 3 wt but I have read that a 3 is to light to use for trout fishing so I started thinking maybe a 4 or even 5. One of the things I dont understand is why a 3 or 4 is to light for Taney and or general trout fishing. I have read that using light weight rods is too hard on the fish because it takes to long to land them but it seems to me if a person is using for example a 7X tippet wouldn't be the determining factor of how long a fight lasts rather than the wt of the outfit. Am I incorrect in this thinking?

In another topic I was reading about boats speeding by fishermen in the upper lake. Wonder what kind of bottom damage they do as compared to shuffling.....

Yeah I see that. They are getting enough hits that they have made it to the big banner. Cool. :) -
I got the same letter today. It is not totally off the wall, there is a big power play going on right now.

Makes no sence to me either Wayne but as long as they have it there we just as well collect their money for a pro fishing site. -
I would not doubt they were stolen for the fuel. It is happening everywhere and is only going to get worse as long as fuel stays as high as it is.

My point exactly. Where does one draw the line. Once shuffling is taken on and rules written where does it stop and then what is next? If outside stimuli that stimulates a feed (shullline) is illegal, immoral, or unsportsman like then arent all activities of artificial stimulation also the same? And what is wading other than shuffling? I just dont see where making laws against it makes any real sence especially when there are so many other things that more seriously affect fish and fishing.

I cant speak for everyone else but I do my part every day. -
Government policies sure did not help RB. They failed in managing the trout fishery properly and when it was apparent it was failing the government chose to drag its feet on doing something about it thus causing Taney to go from a world class trout fishery to a so so fishery all of which was bad news for RB. I wont say it was all the governments fault. RB decided not to modernize. They didn't spend any money on re-development and infastructure. That was their decision and it was a bad one. Even if the government had done what they were suppsoed to in managing the trout fishery RB would have been seriously hurt for their decisions. The big boom at SDC and Branson stole a lot of thunder from RB too. In the governments defense they have made some strides in improving the fishery in recent years. It still is not in the same fishery as it was years ago but it is getting better all the time. If the fishing keeps improving at Taney RB is going to miss the boat. They should be cleaning up and fixing up their town and getting ready for the next fishing boom.

SM: I am in complete disagreement with you in the development/re-development issue. RE-Development would be repairing, rebuilding, updating and/or modernizing existing structures and infastructure. A casino would be brand new commercial construction on the lake therefore, it is new development not re-development. I have no problem with re-development; I am against more major commercial construction on the lake.

Phil: There is a program named FileSaver that is great for undeleting files. I used it to restore files from one of my hard drives that had been formatted. It worked great and I could not believe the files that it would undelete. Some of them were 5 years old and more!! www.File-Saver.com -
Don't have a clue. Rail system from SDC to the shows would probably be a good thing. Eliminate some of the congestion on the roads maybe even eliminate some pollution. Disney...I doubt it especially if we get a Casino in here. I don't like the idea of building and commercializing Taney to death.

Thom: You are right. You seem a nice enough guy and I should not have been so defensive. Of course you are entitled to your opinion and I am interested in your opinion. I just dont like confrontation on the water about an issue that is legal. Again my apologies.

Heh heh. I am doing my part. I have clicked on it every day since I noticed it. Pamela Anderson without clothes is a lot like Africa, everyone knows its there but to most it really isn't all that interesting. The Dixie chicks.... now that is a different story all together. -

Brian: In general I am not easily offended. I understand what you are saying now and you are right I should have been more descriptive in my post. I agree PETA is not anywhere in the same class as Al Quida or any such terrorist group. The link that was mentioned was a money flow link to violent terriorist groups and possibly even to Al Quida. At the time I made the post I wasnt really thinking about discussing the legitimacy of the nonprofit organization. It was just a quick reply to a previous post. Have a good one. -

I interviewed Jen McClure, PETA’s Media Liaison, and concluded it would have been easier to get a straight answer out of Al-Qaeda. When questioned about certain facts, I was struck by her stark evasiveness. For example, it had been rumored that PETA had contributed defense money to the notorious domestic terrorist group ELF. The Earth Liberation Front is known for blowing up buildings, medical research labs and budding development communities. The FBI has estimated that ELF has committed more than 600 criminal acts in the United States since 1996, resulting in damages in excess of 43 million dollars. Naturally, it would be unthinkable to assume that PETA money was going to finance domestic terrorism, however, when asked if “PETA directly or indirectly donated money to the Earth Liberation Front (ELF)” McClure, at first, refused to answer. Later, after checking with her superiors she stated, “PETA has no involvement with alleged ELF actions.” Then, in a propaganda spiel worthy of Baghdad Bob, she went on to define terrorism as the “violence inflicted on billions of animals annually in the meat, dairy, experimentation, tobacco, fur, leather, and circus industries.” Or, some would say, in PETA’s animal shelters. -
THere should be a national holiday in honour of the man who put fishing, good looking girls and bikinis together.

FBI Papers Show Terror Inquiries Into PETA; Other Groups Tracked By Spencer S. Hsu Washington Post Staff Writer Tuesday, December 20, 2005; Page A11 FBI counterterrorism investigators are monitoring domestic U.S. advocacy groups engaged in antiwar, environmental, civil rights and other causes, the American Civil Liberties Union charged yesterday as it released new FBI records that it said detail the extent of the activity. The documents, disclosed as part of a lawsuit that challenges FBI treatment of groups that planned demonstrations at last year's political conventions, show the bureau has opened a preliminary terrorism investigation into People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the well-known animal rights group based in Norfolk. --------------------------------------------------------------------- CCF Tells Senate: PETA Supports Terrorism From ConsumerFreedom.com May 18, 2005 The Center for Consumer Freedom testified today before the Senate's Environmental and Public Works committee that highly visible tax-exempt groups including People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA), the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) have ties to violent organizations like the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) and the Earth Liberation Front (ELF). Those who engage in "direct action" crimes, such as starting fires, detonating bombs, threatening lives, and stalking innocent people, receive demonstrable cooperation and assistance-both rhetorical and financial-from an above-ground support system. Today I'd like to walk you through some of our findings in this regard. A good place to start is No Compromise, a self-described "militant, direct action magazine" for ALF supporters. In 1999, No Compromise published a list of its benefactors, which included People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the Fund for Animals, In Defense of Animals, and the New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance-all groups with 501©(3) federal tax exemptions. The list also included PETA's president and two other PETA officers, and an activist now on the staff of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
