Anything that is productive in daylight is normally ok after dark. Now lately the bite has been real real slow after dark. Im talking 2 to 3 keepers in 4 hours with two guys that have a good idea what we are doing. So dont get disappointed. Hoping this heat and water temp rising will make a change in their habits.

If your looking for numbers, dont forget the black spinnerbait. you sound like you got the right idea. Buy a quality black light and spool a rod or two with florecent line. Helps greatly to see the light bites, so that you dont pull on the fish before you know he is there.

Very nice! Have that happen in ontario alot with northerns eating small walleye. Have even got one to the net with no hooks in him. Weighed 20lbs. Maybe I should start throwing some perch colored cranks?

Just venting guys, I understand its not getting better. Im with champ, a lot of this is from people not caring about the others. Powerdrive, its not me, me, me....I leave them to their thing, they are just to stupid to leave me alone with mine. I dont chase them down, drive around them, or anything else to mess with their time on the water.

Had a friend show me that one a month ago. He was told it was from a buddy of a buddy around walnut springs. Told him then there is no freakin way. He said im sure of it. lol.

My turn to vent about the bad common sense on the water lately. Saturday night around 8pm (still good daylight) my partner and I were fishing the mouth of a small pocket next to a bluff end point. We were around 100 yards in the pocket, the pocket being 6 to 800 yards deep. We were a little over a full cast from the bank, maybe 60 yards. Behind us was 400 yards to the other side of the pocket. Minding our own business, a pleasure crafter came towards the pocket. He shut down outside of us and idled into the pocket. We saw that for some reason he was coming between us and the bank. We kept casting and watching him as he approched. Finally just before he entered our range, we raised our arms in protest. He shut off the engine and asked "what?" We told him as he could see we were fishing right here, he stated sorry, turned the engine on and idled right down the bank in front of us. couple cross words were mumbled. He drove to the back of the cove, done a couple dougnuts and left out the other side, seemingly coming into the pocket for no reason. Now time to hear everyone elses common sense stories.

If your looking for whites in that area, look at sunrise and sunset around point 9. Between the point and island I have saw some come up just before dark. I would have rods set up for whites and gills at the same time, fish for gills on the break on the north side, where the bluff runs along the gravel point, and keep both eyes scanning for whites to show.

Champ, color sure does matter when cranking in the clear. Ive been know to have 3 on at once until I find what they want at that time. Then a cloud comes over and Im back to square one.

Thanks Kyled, they work hard to make sure the fish are health and released happy. Summer coming with the hot surface temps always makes it more of a chore to keep them happy. Joe preaches to us about it when its hot, which im glad because a lot of them probably would not care.

Dave, what depth was the bite and what area was you in?
