  1. Well..... It was as expected... Huge crowds.. and with those huge crowds, you get to see stuff that you never see at that park... some good things, some bad.. Saw some big fish caught.. the stockers were small.. I dont know how bad it flooded this fall/winter but I couldnt find the little "naturally spawned/not natural" trout that look wild.. Normally they are in all of the ripples and rapids but I found none.. Good food, good times and the hot tub was great
  2. So who is heading down? I think I will be down on Friday and fish the river before the "season" starts..
  3. We made our anual trip to Taney and fished from Thursday morning to Monday morning.. lots of different conditions, hot weather, cold weather but beautiful the entire time.. The water ran all day Thursday then was off an on the next few days.. I did well on chamy worms and red san juans, #22 brown scuds, #22 possum scuds, peach bedspreads, red and black zebra midges, #8 sculpins fished on top in the shallows (worked well on browns in the evenings, white bedspreads and white thread jigs.. and a variety of other items.. Seemed like something would work well for a while, then turn off.. then something else for a bit then nothing.. almost everything I tried got some response.. Caught a few good browns from 18-22 inches but saw a few bigger fish.. not as many as I remember last year but we were two weeks earlier last year.. The ladder at outlet three is working, and it appears to me to be working well.. I have some video of the trout moving up the ladder..Its amazing the number of big browns in that whole chute... Cant wait till next year.... the guys in our group did pretty well on Power Bait and inflated crawlers off the dock at Lilleys.. at least they said when the water was running it was real good.
  4. As of 9pm.... the water was still way up... makes for tough night fishing... only saw three other fisherman
  5. very interesting.. Thanks for the heads up.. We are leaving tonight and staying for the next 5 days.. hope it shuts off some time..
  6. awesome... congrats!!!
  7. those are two awesome fish... The brown looks like the one I dreamt about last year eating half of my leg...
  8. I wish I could have gotten away for the weekend.. I was down last year for the Holland.. Sounds like it was a good weekend.. just hope the weather cools off.. What was the big brown for the weekend and how much money did they raise?
  9. There are a lot of patterns that work in the park, you just have to find different types of water to use them... Any egg pattern works, san juan worms, cracklebacks, wooly buggers.. scuds are very effective..
  10. Good luck to you all... I plan to stay in the park most of the weekend and we are camping in loop one...
  11. thanks for the link.. I will be heading down to Monauk on Friday, hopefully the weather holds out... it is absolutely beautiful out..cooler weather is definetly welcomed...
  12. Has anyone been to Montauk since the rans late last week? It would appear that there was a pretty good amount of rain in that area ....
