  6. Greg: This was on the thread a while back and if I remember correctly I think you already have the right answer to your own question! CONDO's But keep the faith I have been known to be wrong in the past.
  7. I think Phil posted once that he rents boats to people not staying at his resort!

  9. Times Beach Mo.same thing! How many years ago did it disappear off the map?
  10. Snagged in outlet 3 in correct, the good fishing for brown's is along the area where all the camping takes places, swimmers, parties, etc. probably a lot of the browns, regardless of size, hit the old camp fire skillets in the blink of an eye. Late fall, winter, and early spring {April, early May} the best time. At the gate there use to be a mail box to put your $3.00 in.
  11. Parking lot by the swimming pool is ok with me and 10:30 AM is ok also I will be down around 9-9:30 am.
  12. No Luck: Where do we meet and at what time?
  13. Dano: Glad to see some action finally being taken by the state of Arkansas on this issue, it just seems that sometimes more damage is done before they act. I can tell you from my experience dealing with environmental issues for the railroad I retired from storm water runoff is a big issue with the feds, a Storm Water Control Plan is a must have in todays business. I love Norfork tailwaters but have been a little hesitant to go with so many problems with the run off, with my luck I would get there and have a big rain and chocolate water to contend with!
  14. Ah! A riot perhaps.
  15. I heard they had a good amount of rain at Norfork on Fri. 7/28 and there was a lot of mud run off from the housing project near the dam, bad enought that it ran all the way down to the White and muddy that water also. This happened even after the state agenices in charge of monitoring this work & solve the problems basically stated all issues concerning run-off from this area had been addressed and appropiate action taken by the responsible party.I guess politics have entered this issue like all the others, where money talks and the environment gets ZERO!
  16. There is really no way to keep the fish from your feet while wading at Taney {my opinion} but as mentioned on this thread before there is a big difference in what is considered normal wading and what is intentional shuffling. As "gonefishing" mentioned I also think it is illegal to chum for sport fish in the state of Missouri. I believe in Ark. it is legal. I was shocked the first time I fished Norfork and observed the bait guides chumming the waters for their clients could catch a lot of fish. I joined up with my fishing partner from KC week ago Sunday at Bennett and observed a father doing a good job of teaching his son how to do the shuffle. I finally had to move on down stream before I said anything. I guess I should have said something, but #1 it is legal and #2 why ruin my day for some block head like that? After all maybe his daddy taught him how to shuffle
  17. Terry: Appreciate the help, do you know anyone that is a good guide for Crappie on Lake Hamilton?
  18. My family is taking a 1 week vacation {Aug.5 } on Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs Ark. Anyone have any recommendations on a guide for this lake. Never been and really would appreciate the help. Thanks!
  19. The Meramec has claimed many this month, such a waste. My thoughts are with the families.
  20. Thanks for the info. I will enter on the map in my copy of "Home Waters".
  21. Does anyone have a chart that tells you how long it takes a rise in the water to reach different parts of the White River once generation starts. I know this information will not be 100% accurate but it will give me an idea where to fish when I find out what time the generation started.
  22. You are right about how fast Norfork comes up. The horn they blow is not the loudest in the world either.
  23. I was reading an article the other day concerning the dangers of wading, which are there for sure. The article mentioned that waders should carry a whistle in their vest for these types of emergency.Would come in handy if you got trapped on the bank in tailwaters and you needed to get the attention of a passing boat, or end up floating down stream and attempting to get peoples attention.
  24. I have been told in the past that you can camp at Tan Vat.
  25. MoBass has a good point about eye protection, I don't know how many times a fly has pulled out with the rod loaded and the fly hit the len of the glasses I was wearing. An eye never grows back after it is lost!
