  1. I agree with Dano.Felt soles with screws are the only way to go,especially if you find yourself having to chase a big fish! They could be the difference between staying on your feet,or taking a fall.
  2. here is a pic of the 8 pounder, and a handsome male the next day.
  3. Here is a pic of her
  4. Phil, sorry it has taken me so long to reply...I have been at Tanney away from my computer. I have had the most luck on scuds.Tan ,grey, or olive.
  5. Yes Chuck is an awesome guide for sure.I was out with him last Tue. when we caught and released that 13 1/2 lb Brown. She jumped staight out of the water broad side to us showing her legnth of 27' and girth of 20" what a fight on light tippet. Chuck is a guide who leally loves his work, and it shows! Before the 13 1/2 lb,we released an 8 pounder, then that afternnon we must have chased around 6 more fish down stream, biggger than the female!thank you all who showed good sportsmanship and let us come in front of you in our pursuits.Buy mid afternnon I threw in the towel.wet, wore out,and most of all totally satisfied! What an awesome trip to Taney. Thanks to Chuck.
  6. Also... Mr. Lilley - I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this forum. I visit daily and thank you for all the great information.
  7. Can anyone inform me if john boats with jet drives are legal on Tanneycomo?also where in Missouri they are restricted?
  8. I plan on staying at your resort 6-5 thru 6-10 will I be able to use your dock for my boat then? BTW is there a restiction on jet drives on Tanney?
  9. Here's my two bits-why not have rules in place in the trophy area restricting the hooks used, use single point hooks, preferably barbless...it's rough enough on the fish in the fall using 7x.If some one tries to release a fish caught with multiple treble hooks...I personally hate to see that. The fish in the trophy area would be better of if we would all use single piont barbless hooks, heck if you get one stuck in you, or your gear it's sure a lot nicer to deal with.
  10. Table Rock State Park is right at the Dam
  11. Thanks for the welcome, Yes I have some stories, but it seemed in those days all of my stories would be of the other guy catching the lunkers.I saw some awesome rainbows caught, but the big boys usually escaped me.Now if I was to observe the bull riding rule... The quality of the Taney fishery is awesome now, these past fall months-wow.Seems every day I fished(I fly fish wading below the Dam) I would see at least one monster Brown,in the 27"-3' catagory.I probably have some of my best lunker stories from this past fall at Taney. Bruce
  12. Hi gonefishin,I am within an hour drive of the Meramec Trophy water,so much of my fly fishing is done there.Otherwise the Current Trophy area,Montauk,or Bennett. In the late summer/fall finds me at TANNEY! I save most of my vacation for Taney.
  13. Greetings to all from Bruce aka NoBarb, I have been fishing in Missouri for trout since the late 60's when my dad first took me to Taney, and some of the trout parks,Meramec,Montauk&Bennett, and the waters below each. My family is native to the Pacific north west,so fly fishing Trout and Steelhead is in our blood.
