  1. I fished tonight for 2 hours. Caught 2 rainbows and 1 brown at the Pothole. I sure wish I could of turned them into walleye though. I guess I need to get a trout stamp and smoke some.
  2. I went fishing tonight for about 2 hours at powersite. Didn't see many people there. Only 1 boat and a couple people. I thought I had a keeper walleye, but when I got it reeled in it was a big fat rainbow. It sure was pretty. And that was all.
  3. Sorry Hornyhead, I thought it was in my description. I'm from south of Springfield. I see you're from KC so we both have a long drive, lol.
  4. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in carpooling up to the tailwaters to fish. I usually fish the evenings once or twice a week when the fishing picks up. I try to get there a little before dark and fish for a few hours after dark or till they quit biting.
  5. not to meantion the Ozark Sewer discharge, yuck. About 5 years ago I Went trapping down thru there and I didn't know where it was. There was a backwater with a "spring" coming out. It looked about 6 inches deep so I took off walking thru it and sunk in over my waist, luckily I had chestwaders on. It was a fine grey silty yucky mess, I was quite disgusted. Turns out it wasn't a spring, lol.
  6. Just thought I needed to let someone know who can delete it. In case they don't know yet.
  7. I hear you on the white bass Crappiefisherman. IMO 15 white bass is way more than enough for a limit. I would be happy with half that. There's too many people now for a limit that big IMO.
  8. I just wanted to let everyone know the puppy has been named. She has an incredle nose and constantly sniffing everything. It takes her 20 minutes, Every time to go pee because she's smelling everything. So we decided on Nosy. It's nothing special or unique, but it's her. Thanks for the names everyone. And the advice of waiting a few days, lol.
  9. I can't post one on cause i didn't get a pic with a digital camera. I just use disposable ones. I was fishing at night so I don't even know if color matters, but it was Clown.
  10. I know I'm likely to get drilled for keeping it because I know how some people act like fish are their children, but I figure I catch a lot less than they do overall. It was 10 lbs 12 oz 30 inches. Stickbait though personally I have better luck with soft plastics.
  11. I went fishing tonight and fished from Swan creek up to the dam. I only had 2 bites for the 3 hours I was there, only caught 1 walleye. It was the biggest one I've ever caught though so I was happy. But I haven't caught many. Anyone else have a report?
  12. I have a half English Setter, half Black Lab puppy. She's about 2/3 light tan and 1/3 white with a white tip on her tail. We need some names for thought. Let me hear them! thanks
  13. good luck Coyote. Either noone knows anything or they keep it secret usually. I find it hard to get reports or tips from this section. Other than a couple guys at most. Typically rogues are the best from what I hear. But I have had better luck with sliders at night for walleye.
  14. I've never had them get into a cooler, but back in July I went down to Arkansas and fished the White river for a couple days and they raided all the minnows I had caught out of the minnow bucket during the night. Maybe I'll use that technique when I'm trapping them from now on.
  15. your were probably thinking of Shelvin Rock Access
  16. You'd think that rather than going out in the wee hours of night to steal gas they'd just get a job! That seems like a lot less hassle to me.
  17. sorry sowbug but I don't do much fishing for trout. I like flyfishing for the whites but have never gotten into it with the trout, they're just too hard to catch consistently with limited time. He's located below the main trout fishing area, about a mile from the dam, but he still manages to catch quite a few below the spillway and downstream a ways.
  18. I have a freind who lives 15 minutes from Mountain View right on the White River. There is a huge bottom right along the river that has been divided up into small acreages. I think they paid around 15 thousand an acre though for theirs.
  19. My unexperienced walleye fishing opinion is you done pretty well. I went last night and only had one bite and it felt like a gar bite. Went below the dam. Seen lots of gar surfacing.
  20. Hey lilley, I don't know what part of the run it is because I live down in your direction, Highlandville. I usually head up that way fishing after the runs are done here but this year I haven't seen much around here. I've heard of a lot of whites being caught there for a few weeks though.
  21. Last Friday me and a couple others done pretty well below the dam. I saw a 10 pound hybrid caught topwater and I caught 3 topwater myself, but of no size. Ended up with a limit of whites and half a dozen crappie for a couple hours of fishing, going tomorrow night too.
  22. Hey Mushroomer, There are tons of ideas on how to find them, here is mine. All of my best spots are in these areas. Around sycamores, dozer piles, and draws all put into one. Years ago when they cleared fields or woods with dozers a lot all the top soil which held the mushrooms was pushed into a easy to locate localized piles which almost always have sycamores and mushrooms in they're to be found anywhere near in any great quantity. I hope this helps.
  23. I went down to the mouth of swan last night. Got there a little before dark and seen as many people as fish it seemed. I didn't have a single bite last night. I fished till almost 9 oclock. I guess it was just a bad night for me since others on here are catching them. I saw lots of fish though. Maybe tonight will be better, I hope.
  24. I was fishing off the bank with soft plastics and 16th ounce jigs. I tried a little bit of everything in the tackle box. It seemed as soon as I'd try something new I'd catch one then have to switch again, but who knows.
  25. I fished around the Swan creek area Tuesday night and caught 5 whites and 2 walleye and seen a couple other walleye get caught that weren't keepers. It seems the whites are about to start a good bite soon.
