  1. Picked ten quarts yesterday and this morning had fresh blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. Don't get much better than that!!!
  2. Talked to some friends of mine by cell phone in Neosho and Seneca and said it was pretty bad. Their electricity is out and lots of damage between Neosho and Seneca and also extensive damage just north of Seneca toward the Reddings Mill area. Said they have confirmed four deaths at this time.
  3. I emptied my guage this morning at 7:00 and here in South Springfield I recieved 2.3 inches yesterday and last nite.
  4. The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.
  5. Made the trip to the tailwaters yesterday afternoon. Fished from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Running alot of water but their are fish to be had. Had to fish a 1/4 oz. to get down. Caught Hybrids up to eight pounds and white bass and a few crappie. Saw a large number of Hybrids beingcaught and saw a man catch one I would say go ten to twelve pounds. The crappie all were in the ten to twelve inch size. The fish were caught on milky triple riple grub with the tail dyed chartrease. Saw people using slider with chartrease heads effectively.
  6. Sorry, couldn't get picture to upload!!!

  9. Sorry to say, alot of more water to come. I live about a mile from Lake Springfield here on the James and the Lake is as full as it was two weeks ago. The fishing piers are under water and still rising. The river below the dam needless to say is rolling.
  10. Phil, I was just looking at the Cam - Thats a lot of pressure on the dock. Hope it holds for you. How's your insurance. I don't think there is enough manpower in Taney county to help hold the dock back.
  11. Here in South Springfield at 10:00 a.m. the sun is out and enjoying the sights of spring (flowers, flowering trees, birds at the feeders). My rain guage had 2.3 inches of rain last nite. My thoughts are with you people along the lakes and streams of southern Missouri.
  12. According to a new poll that just came out, it’s hard to believe, 81 percent of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. Yeah, the other 19 percent own gas stations.
  13. Recieved an e-mail from a friend of mine in Buffalo and they took a pretty good lick from that tornado this afternoon.
  14. Fisherman's Prayer God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day and when it comes to my last cast I then Most Humbly pray when in the l Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep That in His mercy I be judged Good enough to keep anon

  16. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters. Norman Maclean, A River Runs Through It

  20. As of 9:30 a.m. this morning, here are the lake levels. Table Rock - 927.65 Bull Shoals - 667.48 Beaver - 1129.21 Stockton - 877.93 Truman - 713.40
  21. I guess my picture files are too big. Wouldn't upload.
  22. Here's some pictures of the James and FinleyI took this morningF. Also included are pictures of television networks CNN and St.Louis station on the Finley. I have included the picture of Carson Nusery flooding and the car that was washed off a low water bridge. The man had a heart attach and died and his wife was rescued from the top of the car. Have alot more pictures but after awhile they look all alike. Any questions I will try and answer.
  23. Have lived here in Springfield since 1974 and I can't recall seeing James and Finley rivers this high. It is still coming down hard here and the radar shows alot more to come. On the James on highway 160 toward Nixa, Carson Nursery is completely underwater. The water is all the way up to Stienerts Nursery. The Finley is out in the Park at Ozark and impassable to Riverside Inn. I'm sure the Inn is underwater badly.
  24. The White Bass are back in Beaver.
  25. Pat, that goal is too high. You'll have to lower it to dunk like you did in high school
