We have a lot of people moving in out here from California. They find out after a time or two those big SUV's they buy don't stop any better on ice than a normal car does LOL I was watching on TV today and they had some stuff on the storm in Kansas. They had cars and SUV's on there rooofs and in wrecks all of the place. That is why I said take it easy if you have to drive. We are having left over roast chicken to night. I do the cooking so it is good LOL Not bragging here but if you tasted my wifes you would understand LOL She dosen't cook much and her idea of dinner is Mac and Cheese right out of the box. And yes I made the roast chicken. I will post how I cook it on the board. Real easy and it turns out good everytime. Ron Ron

Nice fish. I have caught Bass ar 60 foot deep some years ago. They can get deep att times. I sure wish I had some Crappies in my freezer. They are such great eating. Ron

Well it's a wonderful 9 degrees here today with about 5 inches of snow on the ground . Supposed to go to about 10 below tonight here . Warming into the 30's by Thursday. (We Hope). Anyway it is headed your way so if you have any plants that might be killed you might want to get them inside. LOL I plan on staying inside as much as I can. Just a heads up from the north country. Thum try bending the hook to the side to off set the gape. You will hook more fish this way. Just put the hook in a vise and push the shank to the side. Not to much as it dosen't take much. Ron

LMW- I don't use Hot Sauce in mine I just suggested they could. It is funny. My son lives in Texas and they put so much hot spices on ther fish I don't know how they taste the fish LOL It would burn my mouth out for sure. The Potato flaks are real good in this dish. I have done most of the cooking in my family for over 39 years now. The kids bought me a badge many years ago that sticks to the Fridge and has a Mallard Duck on it and say's "Ron's Kitchen" LOL I just like to cook and the wife dosen't. Her idea of a meal is Mac and cheese. LOL Ron

Here is one I just tried and it turned out real good. Flour in a bowl about a cup and a half depending on how mush fish you are going to fry. Add salt and pepper to this and any other spices you may like. Beat two to three eggs in a dish and you can add hot sauce here if you like. Instant Mashed Potato Flaks in a dish. Roll your fish in the flour then the egg and then the Mashed Potato Flakes. Then deep Fry or just fry in a pan. This sure turned put well. Enjoy Ron

Heres one- Chex Mix Recipe Description A fun and easy recipe with handfuls of treats. Easy to change dry ingredients around to meet your tastes (potato sticks instead of pretzels etc.). Recipe type Snack Ethnic type Other Holiday category Christmas Preparation time 45 minutes to 1 hour Ingredients - 6 tbsp margerine - 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt - 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce - 3/4 tsp garlic powder - 3/4 tsp onion powder - 9 cups chex cereals - 1 cup mixed nuts - 1 cup pretzel sticks - 1 cup garlic flavored bagel chips Directions 1. Pre-heat oven to 250 2. Melt margerine in oven and add seasonings. 3. Gradually mix chex, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips in and stir gently until coated. 4. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. 5. Spread on paper towels to cool. 6. Store in air tight container. One More to try lol Ron Chex Party Mix 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine 1 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt 4 1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce 2 2/3 cups each of Corn chex, Rice chex and Wheat chex cereal 1 cup salted mixed nuts Preheat 350 degree oven. In 15x10x2 inch baking pan melt butter in oven. Remove. Stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire. Gradually add cereal and nuts, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Store in air tight container

Hey Phill- I see the tree in front of your dock has finally lost all of it's leaves for this year. (VIA Web Cam) It sure was a pretty tree when in color. Now we will just have to wait for them to come back next year. Hope everyone that fishes this winter has good luck. Ron

One thing I think about a lot is that people from here have no idea how those people think or what they believe. It would be very hard for Americans to understand what goes on in there minds. That to me is the biggest problem in this issue. Because you do not understand what they believe and just go by what you believe you think so much differently that there isn't a clue on your part. Do you know that they think nothing of teaching there children how to hate from berth? Do you understand that they would kill your children and think nothing of it? They believe that if they give there lives they go to heaven and have all the good things. They also see weakness as something to spit on. And pulling out in there minds is Weakness on our part. They thought the election showed weekness on our parts. They loved it. You need to be there and see things that are done to people and try and understand what they are thinking. I know you won't believe it. My opinion is that the Democrats are in power now and will get what they want to. I belive that in the end it will come back to bite them hard. We will see. One other point I would like to make. Afer talking to many Vet's at the VA hospital there feeling is the John Merta and John Kerry have used up any respect they had coming from serving in the Armed Services. I feel the same way. Ron

I go to the VA Hospital about two times a month. I talk to the returning troops and they say that pulling out is not an option. Everyone of them I have talked to (and that is quit a few) say that we can win over there and if we cut and run we will lose more than most people can aford to lose. This is there opinion not mine. I also feel that if we leave without some type of win we will lose people in our armed services. Why join something that losess all the time. These young people have given a lot for all of us and we had best listen to them or we may lose there trust in "We The People" Ron

My porblem is with the way the media uses things and blows them out or up just to get people to think as they do. Like I said you neer hear about the good our troops are doing over there. Just the bad that is going on. I do believe that things are much better than they were 6 months ago. That because I have a close friend that is stationed there. I think our biggest mistake was not taking the whole areea on at one time and being done with it. As for us torturing people that is a bunch of crap they just wanted to make the war look bad and they did. If I thought I could get information out of a prisoner by putting panties over his head you had best bet he would be wearing them a lot and they might even be dirty. If I remember right when J. Lynch was taken she had 8 other solders with her. They were taken prisoner along with her and were all killed and thrown in a mass grave. Seems every war the good old US is told to be nice but all the rest do as they dang well please. Get's old. I find it funny how the Editor of the New York TImes can out Top Scerets and get away with it. What I really find funny is that people from New York let them get away with it. If the people we are fighting use any of that information to have at us again were do you think they will hit? It sure won't be were I live LOL. If I lived in New York I would be looking up that Editor. I guess we will see what will happen will hwppen nothing much can be done now. But I bet the Dem's don't pull out as they wnat to. By the way Thom I am a two tour Vietnam Vet. I also am fighting cancer do to Agtent Orange. At least that is were they think it came from. I just had my 4th Major surgery on it 4 weeks ago. I was in the hospital for 10 days or so. Got a little pneumonia while I was in the hospital so I ended up staying longer than I wanted to. I do know a thing or two about Agent Orange. I am doing OK and no longer have Cancer but it sure hasen't been any fun. I do think the good Lord for healing me and watching over the rest of the Vet's in this country. There are a lot of them worse off than me. All I can say is God Bless and protect them all. Ron

IF I remember right it took our country 9 years to get things together. They have been at it for 3 years. Seems everyone has an idea but no one has an answer. Seeems the people in this country want everything yesterday. They are use to gettting things fast. Well not everything can be fast. Some take time. While I agree that we need to get them moving I also know that the media in this county has made it a one sided war. They have given the death totals every day for the last three years. Not becuase we needed to know but becuae they are pushing an agenda. I believe that they would love nothing better than to see 500 of our troops killed at one time. It would push there point of view even better.Ever see them do anything on something that happened good over there? In world war II we lost 1,000 men in a 7 hour period fighting on an island in the pacific. But back then epople understood that it may take some time and men to get a job that needed doing done. Today people would rather listen to what Opera has to say about the war instead of kinowing the truth. It is easier they don't have to hunt for it becausee it isn't on the TV. I hope it don't take 100,000 people getting killed in this copuntry to get people to understand what is going on and that they are in it even if they don't want to be. I hope the good Lord is looking over this country as we will be needing him. Ron

Iwas raised in the south and to this day will revert back to saying Y'ALL and such. Hard to get rid of things like that. My Wife is from Long Island New York and I am sure you know they have some weird language. She goes back to it when her sisters visit each year. I hear it but she sure dosen't LOL. Just the way of life. ron
