  1. Went down to Taylor Bridge yesterday after work and probably should of just stayed home. The front that came through was about ridiculous. Seen a few small males caught but i only hooked up with a few small largemouth. May not be up quite so far and the cold front probably didn't help.
  2. What about the smallmouth? I figure a lot of people are going to run up the rivers and chase the bigger largemouth but what about them bronze fish? I figure we'll stay close to the way in to fish the morning bite and try to put 5 spots in the boat for a limit then chase some of the bigger fish. We are taking out of the dam so the smallmouth shouldn't be too far away. I am real comfortable throwing a jig or a shaky head and once you find smallmouth it is usually pretty easy to catch them. Any areas around the dam that are good for the smallies? Thanks
  3. How far upstream is the old fire bridge from taylor? I have been quite a ways upstream from Taylor but never seen another bridge. Could a guy sit in at the one lane bridge coming out of morrisville and float down to Taylor bridge? With the water level this year i expected them to run quite a ways. I mean how far up from taylor is the old railroad bridge? I only know of Taylor Bridge and the Old Iron bridge down from taylor.
  4. is everyone still up around Taylor or are they starting to back out towards the Iron Bridge?
  5. Plan on going back this weekend to fish, what is the condition on the water right now? Is it up and muddy or looking good? Thanks
  6. Fished Taylor Bridge March 20-22. Had alot of success all 3 days. Sit in at about 1:00 pm everyday. March 20-Found the fish in the slack water. Me and a friend had 30 nice males and came back later in the evening and had another 27 with the majority of them being females. Caught the females around dusk. Had a 21 inch walleye that weighed around 4 lbs. March 21-Took another friend and with the rain the days before the water was up and had a little color. Found the fish really stacked up in the dead water staying out of the current. We threw brighter colors and had 30 nice fish with the majority being females. March 22-Took a different friend and had 30 more nice fish. Went farther upstream because the current slowed down and the water cleared up. This time we found most of our fish in the current. Caught 2 more nice walleye and missed a good crappie. Seen the whites in the current mating and every fish we caught had 5-6 followers underneath it. Overall, I fished 3 days and had 117 white bass. I have fished at Taylor Bridge for quite a while now and seem to have a good idea of how far they are upstream. No one seemed to believe they were that far upstream but they are. I am back in college now so i can share this information becuase i don't have a chance to go back. Fish were caught on 2 main baits. Colors were white. Can't tell you my secret colors, but send me a pm if you don't believe me and i will show you pictures or give you more information. No fish were caught on swimming minnows, don't like them becuase everyone and their brother throws them.
  7. The New Orleans Bridge and Taylor Bridge are upstream from boat ramp at Aldrich. What type of baits were you using and sounds like their staging to make the annual run
  8. when you say you were above the bridge, do you mean the Aldrich bridge or farther up the river by the Orleans Bridge (Big Iron Bridge) or up near taylor. That good that they have started up the river already. Appreciate the info and i'll see yall down there.
  9. Anyone started fishing the sac river outside of Aldrich on stockton. I know the walleye should start going up in it since we have water this year. I'm just ready for the white bass to make their annual run up to the New Orleans Bridge and Taylor Bridge.
