  1. I have had a 4'6" Ultra Light Micro Shakespeare spinning rod, that I have used to throw tiny rooster tails at pan fish in some of the ponds and lakes on FT Leonard Wood. It's a little stiff for me - but what do you expect for such a short rod? I paired it up with an old Shimano AXUL-S open faced ultra light spinning reel that I had laying around. I don't use it much as I prefer to sling flys....but the tiny stick has never failed me. It does OK for a back up. David
  2. I just found this little book in the FT Leonard Wood post library today. Wish I'd found it a long time ago! Nice color pictures and since it was published in 2002, the information on the state of the various fisheries it describes is somewhat current! Not trying to push the site...I imagine that the book can be had at Amazon.com and lots of other places. http://www.amatobooks.com/mm5/merchant.mvc..._Fishing_Guides David

  4. Welcome....ummmmm....can I have some hair?...Maybe a bucktail or two??? Got anything laying around the shop????? By the way...I'm an active duty Army CPT stationed for the next few months at FT Leonard Wood - on my way to FT Hood. David
  5. I was on the Little Piney, a couple of hundred yards upstream of the Mill Dam Hollow parking area last weekend (27 Jan 07) and hooked into a nice 14" 'bow and a couple of small chubs on an attractor/wetfly creation of my own. Anybody else fishing that area this time of the year? David
