  1. Finally got a chance to wade fish. We caught 13 &14 each with all of the fish 14 to 17 inches. They were in good health and fought very well. Most were caught on a red zebra midge. I am wondering about what the flood and high water has done to the food supply. The tail water was 701 to 701.7 and I turned over about 40 rocks to see what bugs were available to my supprise not one rock had any bugs or scuds on them. In past years there was numerous bugs under the rocks. I did this at the bend after the boat ramp and before the old KOA camp.
  2. I believe Stan Parker with River Run was fishing off the east end of the island Sat. I believe they were using crackle backs and primrose and pearl midges.
  3. We fished this past weekend at Point Royal. They were running 2 to 3 units . We found a place to wade and fish just down from lookout island on the north side. The water is on an inside curve and rotated counter clockwise so that the water was flowing toward the dam and was slow. Anyone know what is the best way to fish this kind of current and what flys. We could see several fish but the bite was slow. Caught some on samon eggs with a zebra midge trailer and some with a feather streamer.
  4. Playcraft River Skiff It looks just like a supreme. Made in Missouri around Lake of the Ozarks.
  5. Since I asked for a report yesterday and was going today I thought I should make a report. We started wading at the steps east of the boat ramp and fished in front of them and down the lake. We caught fish all day long today on a gray zebra midge and Dan's Turkey tail emerger as a dropper. About equal morning and afternoon. Six larger trout with one very good.
  6. Does anyone have a fishing report for today Feb 23rd. We're planning on coming down tomorrow.
  7. Thanks for the information. We've put the trip off for a day to see how much rain we get. It does't look like we'll have to worry about low water, just high water.
  8. I have never floated the Buffalo before. Which kayak would be better on this river. A hobie outback ( lighter, smaller, more maneuverable) or a hobie pro angler (heaver,larger, more comfortable, less maneuverable). Also at what water levels for each. Thanks;
  9. Would the same approach apply to a trailer that has sides that stick up out of the water. Would you place the side of the boat against the side board and then turn in to the trailer.
  10. Daily fishing permit $7.00 a day plus a trout permit $7.00 is required. There is no place to get permits at the park. Sportsmans Corner at the intersection of 112-76-86 sells them its just outside of Cassville toward the park about 4 miles north of the park.
  11. Wade fished below lookout Dec 30 and 31. It was nice to be able to wade after all the high water this year. Caught lots of nice fish on eggs and zebra midges. The fish were in good shape and were nice size fish. I hope this is an indication of how 2010 is going to fish. Hope everyone has a happy new year.
  12. It was good meeting all of the OAF members at the biscuts and gravy feed. Thanks Steve and Bob for providing the breakfast. Had a good day fishing most of fish I caught was on a orange and partridge soft hackle. There was only 3 of us at the bottom end this morning but by 10:00 there was several more.
  13. Just letting you know I'am here.
  14. zhoyt The Tightlines website is no longer available at least the one from Southern Council FFF. Where and what time do they meet. Thanks; Fishing Milwright
  15. Is this the tightlines Club from Rogers. Will anyone be using a kayak and are they meeting at the dam.
