  1. Back when I was teenager in the early 70's my grandpa and I fished Bull Shoals every spring around Easter. We fished out of the Bull Shoals, Lakeview area with a guide for a day, then would fish by ourselves the rest of the week. Best technique was to toss live shiners into flooded brush or drift along transitional banks. An unweighted shiner hooked trought the lips caught largemouths, spots, smallies, crappie, and the occasional walleye and trout. Do the guides still use live bait or does everyone fish with lures nowadays?
  2. Are "slicks" a kind of stream minnow? I hear they're better than shiners for walleyes. Also, how do you rig em?
  3. Can someone please tell me the phone number for the Sand Rock Motel & Sports Cards in Forsyth? Muchas gracias
  4. Will likely be down in the Forsyth area the first or second weekend of March for a little fishin action. This time last year the lake was something like 14 feet below pool and most of my good spots were high and dry. How does it look from Beaver down through Snapp Hollar and K-Dock right now?
  5. Hello everyone. My name is Robert and I live in St. Charles, MO. I'm a new/returning forum member. (Haven't posted in a while and forgot my login info, so I re-registered.) I fish the Branson area lakes several times a year and really love it down there. Hard to say what I like fishing for the most, although I'm a lousy fly-fisherman. Prefer spinning gear for trout. Hope to get down to upper Bull Shoals in the next month for the walleye and early whitebass runs. Nice to see there's water down there again. Last year most of my hotspots were high and dry! Love this site and all the good info you guys provide. Good fishing!
  6. Several years ago I fished for a day and half with Buster Loving. I'd fished upper Bull Shoals many times on my own but with so-so luck on walleye. Learned more in a few hours with Buster than I ever could on my own. I believe there's a link to Busters Guide Service on this site.
