  1. Dollar for dollar you can't beat Eureka. Just my $.02 Dan-o
  2. Prijon carries repair sticks made of high performance thermoplast (HPTP) that fit into a hot glue gun. They're pretty cheap and they work great (I've been repairing my whitewater kayaks with them for years). Go to www.wildnet.com to order. Dan-o
  3. I've got a buddy down here in Ft. Smith who has a nice little recreational kayak for sale (I think it's made by perception).$250.00--PM me if interested. Dan-o
  4. Good deal indeed. My brother in law owns two of them (one narrow and one wide), he says he likes the narrow model better. Somebody better nab it. Dan-o
  5. We see the same variation in appearance down in these parts. Dan-o
  6. At the risk of sounding foolish- exactly how, where, and when were spots introduced into ozark waters? Or were they native to some but not all Ozark and Ouachita mountain streams? Dan-o
  7. What a great read, thanks for sharing. Dan-o
  8. Speaking of spotted bass invasion, do you guys in Mo. ever encounter smallmouth/spotted bass crossbreeds like we occasionally see in the southwestern ozarks? Dan-o
  9. Use a canoe--you can cover much more water. Dan-o
  10. As for Canada- northern smallies live much longer than southern. Dan-o
  11. C'mon now bobber, you don't really want to go up there. The fishing's horrible up there. Dan-o
  12. I've had great fishing over the entire length of the river (including the Hailstone section). If the upper sections are floatable in June, you can expect huge crowds on the weekends, which isn't great for the fishing. If,on the other hand, it's too low for floating and you don't mind some serious hiking/bushwacking you can be in for a treat. I'd suggest taking a backpack with lots of water, food, and light survival gear. I hope this helps. Dan-o
  13. Hello and welcome. Dan-o
  14. I went last Sunday and picked up a few on WD40's. Black zebra midges have been pretty hot over there also.I ran into a gentleman over there a couple of weeks ago on a windy day who was tearin' em up dead drifting an olive woolybugger under an indicator. Hope this helps. Dan-o
  15. Best dry ribs-- Neumeir's Rib Room & Beer Garden, Ft.Smith. Second to none.
  16. If I were him, I'd say I did it on purpose and call it GOOD casting. Dan-o
  17. Some concessions have indeed been made but the lawsuit is still on the table. I for one hope they win. The way I see it, if Johnny Tyson can personally offer up 5 million bucks just to buy out the U of A football coach's contract (which has been rumored), then surely Tyson Foods INC. can afford to get together with the other defendants and do more to protect the watersheds. Dan-o
  18. Plenty of fish there, some nice ones too. Not always easy to catch due to crowds though. Dan-o
  19. What about clean-up of the existing damage, or is it possible? Dan-o
  20. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing the pics. Dan-o
  21. I'm callin' largemouth. The river is in S.E. Mo. near the towns of Pineville & Noel. Good fishing if you can avoid the rental canoe caravan. I usually try to hit it during the week in the warmer months.
  22. 22" smallmouth --Ouachita River... whole time I was fighten' her, one of equal size was tryin' to take the lure out of her mouth. It changed my life. I know that's not a true Ozark Mtn.fish, but the Ouachitas were formed by the same faulting process that formed the Ozarks. Dan-o
  23. One cool thing about the Brady-- very few bad seats in the house. Dan-o
  24. That was a little cold but I have to admit I like the way JH sounds with them. We'll probably head back after the show but maybe we can have a cool beverage in the lot before. We too plan on going in early. Dan-o
  25. I'll be in both Dallas and Tulsa.Maybe we can hook up. Dan-o
