  1. I fish it often. Some good holes and pretty country. Let's hope judge Jerry Williams and his buddys never get their way or it'll all be under water someday. Dan-o
  2. If this weeks forcast holds up I'd bet on round the clock generation.
  3. I recently purchased a SA type 5 Wet Tip line in a #6 for Stream smallie fishing. I had the retailer weld a loop in the end of it (my nail knot sucks). So far the leader system I've used is 2 ft of 10 lb Vanish flouro leader, followed by 2 ft of the same in 8 lb, and then 2 ft of 4X flouro tippit. Seems to work well, but I'm a little concerned about it cutting into my welded loop over continued use. Am I on the right track here, or does anyone out there know of a better system. Thanks. Dan-o
  4. Hope you guys catch a bunch. My wife and I are Headed up to the Kings for our first big smallmouth trip of the year. We'll be campin' on the river and havin' a few cold ones too. Dan-o
  5. Thanks. Caught them mostly on zebra midge type patterns. That fish was caught in the Evening Hole, which is fed by Lost Creek. See ya soon. Dan-o
  6. Drove down to the Broken Bow tailwater yesterday for some fishing between thunderstorms. Hooked up with several nice rainbows ( and a few small browns ) including this 21" Fattie. Great day in spite of the weather. Dan-o
  7. I caught several and broke off a couple of big ones on a #16 tan elk hair caddis in the catch and release area this past saturday. Might want to take a few of those as well. Dan-o
  8. 22" stream smallmouth on 6# test. From the time I hooked her until the time I landed her there was another one at least as big trying to take the lure from her mouth. Dan-o
  9. Probably been handled by a dry/dirty hand before. Dan-o
  10. Thanks D-O. Might do that or head down to Broken Bow. Dan-o
  11. I was thinking of going to RR 2mar, so how do you get to Capps and Crane? Dan-o
  12. Thanks for the report. I plan on heading over there tomorrow as well. I'll probably fish the Watts area. Good luck. Dan-o
  13. Last week my wife and I bought our niece a SA youth flyfishing kit for her 12th birthday. Took her to the Watts property today and she wound up with seven in hand and LDR'd a few more. In spite of a horrendous wind coming out of the southwest, We had her laying out a pretty decent cast within about 30 minutes after we started. She even got the lead on me temporarily by catching two while I walked into the woods for a pee break. Great day for a great kid.

My wife and I were up there over the weekend. We stuck with the Norfork due to water running on the White. I have a question -- how fishable/wadable was Rim shoals at that level using the water taxi? We considered looking in to it but stuck with the Norfork. It was very crowded but we did manage to catch several stocker size bows along with a really pretty 17 or 18 inch brown. I'll try to post a picture of it this evening. Dan-o
  15. My wife just fell off the couch laughing -- sorry. Dan-o
  16. Awesome pics Russ. Those burgers have my mouth waterin'. Dan-o
  17. Welcome. Always good to see a fellow stream smallie fan on here. Dan-o
  18. I arrived at Marval about 11:00 AM and hiked way downstream around the bend. Started off kinda slow. Switched to a little pink jig and picked up 3 fish pretty quickly, then started seeing midges flying as the day warmed up. Switched to a #16 zebra-type midge that I like (light tan thread/copper wire/black tungsten bead) and landed about a dozen the rest of the afternoon including a FAT 16 incher. Long distance released probably as many as I caught. Didn't catch the numbers I'd hoped for but enough to keep things interesting and it was a beautiful day to be on the river. Dan-o
  19. I plan on heading over there Saturday or Sunday (maybe both days). I'll post something Friday evening. Dan-o
  20. Hey Daddy-o, where is Jolly rogers? Dan-o
  21. I usually get busted by people on the hiking trail across the river. Dan-o
  22. So what was the fly? Inquiring minds want to know. Dan-o
  23. Merry Christmas!! Happy new year!! And a big thanks for all the great info I find on this board. Dan-o
  24. I decided to finish my Christmas shopping this morning, and then spent the rest of the day on the couch in front of a big fire. Is the one-fly at the gravel parking lot near the dam and what time does it start ? Dan-o
  25. Got 12 to the net. A couple in the 14 inch range. Ran into a couple of guys tossing lures who had 2 fish on a stringer that looked to be about 16 inches long. All in all a good day (but cold). Dan-o
