well Saturday was BEAUTIFUL and the fish were biting like crazy.. at least for me lol.. i caught 22 bows but the biggest was only 13 1/2 inch... started at fall creek and drifted to trout hollow and caught the most around fall creek and inbetween the red boat dock by the condos up lake from trout hollow to trout hollow... sunday wasnt as nice but still not as bad as i have seen it before in feb... started by the bridges cause thats where people said they were catching.... nothing... tied onto monkey island and caught 3.. went in for lunch and after lunch went and tied onto the rocks at fall creek and i caught another 7 there in bout an hour.. the biggest was a 16 1/2 inch Bow that had all kinds of color and took it back for measuring for our tourney and it was big fish for the weekend and won the trophy and cash... made sure the whole time to be as gentle as possible and made sure it was healthy and realesed it off the dock at trout hollow.. would have taken back up to fall creek but was dark and cant use rentals after dark... thanks for all the help over the years.. paid off the most anyone else caught for the two days was 16 fish.. i caught 32... ALL using red floating powerbait worm and ONE white powerbait power egg.. same thing have used for over a year and ALWAYS catch fish.. LA

this is great news for the weekend.. i will be down there fri morning for the weekend and hope they are not running 4 units at least lol LA

was seeing what people think the conditions are goin to be for valentines day weekend from friday morning on. i know they have been running 4 units almost non stop or at least by the hotline...just tryin to get my stuff together and figure out my strategy due to conditions.. thanks all LA

lol well the way the weather is goin and units are running im sure they will be not be the best conditions but i will still give it my best like usual... still ready for a great taney trip LA

thank you both very much for the info.. im sure i will be hitting Phil's before gettin lines wet.. ive gotten used to using nothing but ultra lights for trout but will bring a longer rod for drifting as per your recomendation .. thanks again guys.. thats why i love and live by this forum.. great people willing to help

after gettin better at jigging was gonna try some drifting in a couple weeks... what kind of floats to you guys recommend??? never used floats just bobbers in bass and catfishing lol .. any help would be appreciated so i dont waste what little money i have on the wrong eqp.. thanks all LA

sounds good guys... our annual trip is valentines weekend and i cant wait.. this is my 15th with the group and has been goin on for over 20 years also.. i love this trip even more cause i get to spend it with my dad... wouldnt miss it!!!! LA

Ok first off i appolgize for this taking so long to post this but due to divorce and losing my house im just now gettin back online. I was down there several times this summer and didnt get to stay at Lilley's but rented a dock slip each time.. one of the times we noticed as we took the trailer off the truck that the trailer had broken on the drive down from KC and how it lasted just long enough to launch the boat and not fall off im not sure cause as i undid the latch it fell off.. we were expecting to have to pay out the backside for emergency welder when all 4 of us are welders... just no welder on us lol.. well long story short they not only helped us find a welder but opened up their shop and tools and time to help us get it fixed enough to get home.. and some lol trailer is stronger now than when new i think lol long story short..(ok still long but want to show proper respect) the Group at Lilleys has earned not only my bussiness but am gettin my annual group to switch to their lodge and my deepest respect.. Thank you Phil and your wife and your daughter and your father in law.. without you guys we might have been in a BAD place.. LA aka the guy that fell in the water by the dock in aug lol dang new river drivers hitting the dock

will be in a four door burgandy ford and/or a 14ft flat bottom boat with three of us in it... heading out in bout an hour.. cant wait to get there LA

we are heading out of KC bout 6pm so that puts us on the water bout 10pm... not sure if we are gonna fish the trophy area of down by the marina but either way cant wait to get back up there... lilleys here we come lol... after last time we were there i wont go anywhere else on that lake.. they saved our butts when our boat trailer broke and wouldnt even hold its own weight let alone the boat... will get on here when we get back and post full update on that event lol LA

darn straight lol.. and from the reports i have seen should be a good weekend... boat by day and trophy area by night... LA

well im sorry to see the damage but glad to see its not worse Phil... and hope the others around are minimal... we will be stayin at TH the 13th -16th... as usual for that weekend... i cant wait and hope the good fishing i have seen from the reports keeps up. Since my Step mom was involved in a major roll over accident in her SUV my Dad will most likely have to sit this trip out... {first time in at least 6 years.... i havent missed for 14 years now..} we will not be boat fishin but trophy area fishing... but dont have waders so shore fishing it is... cant wait.. good luck phil and if you need any help on the dock on that weekend i am down there my brother will be with me and we are both construction type and more than willing to lend a hand LA

first off they only do fishing reports in the KC Scar on thursdays... and when i have online they are at least 2 weeks behind when they do report LA

We are approaching our annual Presidents day weekend fishing trip to Taney... as usual i cant wait... and ive got big hopes for this years trip.. even with the bad luck that happened this week... My wife and i are having a rough go round in life right now and the economy doesnt help... we were broke before the recesion... and scraping by as it is now so we lost the internet MONTHS ago lol.. my brother inlaw got a new desktop for xmas and was kind enough to give us his laptop.. we were completely surprised.. well got to messing around and found a wireless app and found a connection in the house with little signal but enough to get online.. so i finally get to check the boards only 3 weeks before the trip.. the bad part of this week is my step-mom rolled her Toyota 4 Runner and cracked her C6 vertabrae and has a floater and has a 8 inch laceration on her head in the shape of a horse shoe.. but luckily they were able to fit her with a Hailo {sp} and no surgery needed... so the trip is still on.. cant wait as usual.. loving to see the great reports from the usuals... gonna try and stop by Phils and finally meet the legend lol LA

thanks for the info guys.. and Soggy im not tryin to take anybodys spot lol.. just tired of fishin from the boat and dock all weekend on our trips.. been coming down now for around 13 years and never fished the trophy area.. always too intimidated (i speled that wrong lol) and for the most part thought it was fly only.. but gonna come up on fri afternoon to get used to the area for some night fishing.. thanks for all the help and i will do my best not to get in the way lol LA

they werent locked but just saw gates lol. wasnt sure.. but after looking at your VERY informative maps (as with all your info and help) there are several places to park and walk down just depending on where you want to fish.. where would you recomend spin fishing at night using jigs and crank baits? thanks for your help as always Phil... if we get time a couple of us are gonna try and make it to your landing and finally meet you lol LA

just curious so i know where to park when we come down this spring... i have been up to the trophy area and parked and walked around but was in the day and was on the side by the hatchery and wasnt sure if they lock that up at night or not.. dont wanna get locked in.. well i guess that would be bad lol gotta fish all night lol bummer just curious where you guys recomend parking to get a overall good approach to the trophy area at night thanks LA

but dont you know its because of us thats its so bad lol .. or at least thats what i get told.. lol thank god i have my GTA in the garage in peices gives me a reason to head out to the garage and get away lol and i have started on my new car project.. 1965 Pontiac Bonneville Low Top Ambulance.. was used as Tulsa speedways dirt track ambulance for most of its life.. now im tryin to get it running and restore it let alone tryin to learn Fly Fishing.. lol LA
