  1. Welcome! Looking forward to stopping by soon. Brian
  2. Hey, nice to meet you the other day Tito. That spot ended up fishing pretty well. Brian
  3. Where is that Glen? Brian
  4. Hey Justin, good to see you on here! Brian
  5. Sorry I missed you Jeremiah.....but Gavin hit it on the head. How did it go? Brian
  6. Yeah, hog hunting is the most hit or miss game on the river....or really any river for that matter. I lean toward a 7wt setup. On regular water a floating line is usually 'ok' but a sink-tip is a lot more desireable. With all the water the fish have been really scattered around, like you, we have been catching nice rainbows but the photos of the big browns that we usually are throwing around this time of year are few and far between. We have had a couple hooked but they were on a nymphing rig. Brian
  7. We are finally below 1000cfs...which we have only seen once in the last month and that was for about 4 days. The water is seriously beautiful right now with great color, and fishing well. Fishing over the last couple of months with the water levels looking like a seriously sweet roller coaster has been, well, up and down--feast or famine. With water levels getting more stable so should the fishing. Streamers have been doing well, even on those bluebird sky days we are still getting some great takes on some of those big nasties. But all in all, you guessed it, fishing DEEP has been the way to go for the most steady bite. I think the main thing has been looooong drifts with extra weight getting the fly(s) down quickly and staying down there (drifting has been really good.) Rubber-Legs, San Juans, Psycho Princes, Hare's Ears, and Flashback PT's have been doing very well. Brian
  8. lob a kickball...you gotta love that stuff! I'll be honest, I tend to fish the pink ones--and I am confortable with that. Brian
  9. Believe it or not Snow Fly on regular water (i.e. not the water we have now) the small Thingamabobber works well on the NFOW too....really suprised me! Brian
  10. Here is the landing above Patrick that is for sale... Click Here
  11. I remember that Muleball! I remember seeing him at Dawt when I was a kid with one of the chimps all the time. Troutdude, I can't find that listing either....but the "Monkey Guy's" house is listed here: Monkey House For Sale
  12. This is getting REALLY old....
  13. Here is the graph guys. Brian
  14. We have kind of battled high water all month Randall....kind of sucks. The graph for the last 35 days looks like a rollercoaster. Brian
  15. Hey guys, If you were planning on fishing the river this weekend (October 24th-25th)it looks pretty bleak. We hit 4100 cfs and that is in the major no-go section of higher water. October has been rough for high water! Brian
  16. Hey Randall, I am away from my county road map with the actual road numbers but if you go to Crossroads Store (where hwy H and 181 kind of intersect for lack of better words) take the chip and seal road straight beside it. That road will fork about 1/2 mile and you will stay right. Go until you see the Ecardt Berry Farm sign and some River of Life signs and take that left and you will run into the river. That access is the upper-most access in the trout water, Kelly Ford. I'll throw some county road numbers on here for you in the morning. It's one of those things, I have driven it 1000 times and given directions to it 150 times.....but I still don't know the county road numbers. Brian
  17. Randall, I tend to stick with what has consistantly worked for a long time. I can't say that I haven't caught fish on Pine Squirrel streamers....but I could probably go to Taney and catch fish on a Rubber-Legs--but probably not consistantly. Since your question was geared more toward what kind of streamer would we throw that is how I directed my answer. But if you need a full run-down of flies let me know and I'll throw my a list of what my fly box consists of.....again. By the way, the mohairs you spoke of.....probably all you need a lot of the time. Brian
  18. Hey Randall, First of all I'll be in the Blue Ribbon section Saturday as well....if you see a white and blue drift boat be sure to say hi! You really can't go wrong with streamers if conditions are right. I have found that if they are chasing they are chasing and you can throw a ton of different flies. Having said that though you could try drifting some streamers to get a little different action. Typically, I'll throw big streamers if I am going to take the streamer fishing seriously. Sex Dungeons, TnA Leeches, etc. Good luck and have fun! Brian
  19. That is a FLIP? Shoots pretty good video!
  20. I think I have asked you in the past but what camera is that Phil....it shoots great stuff!
  21. If an apple and orange can be "kinda the same" then I would agree with this statement.
  22. Awesome! Glad you had a good time! Brian
  23. Hey Dude, ROLF rents canoes all year long. I would expect seriously good water when you get here....somewhere below or around 700 cfs. The big fish is about a mile and a half below the falls-----and still there. Brian
  24. Hey Tim, Sorry to get with you so late......I am guessing here but pretty much any river below hwy 60 (excluding Taney) will probably be blown out. I would head for a tailwater and hope they aren't generating or wait for another time. It sucks....my fisherman arrived last night to wake up this morning to the river 3' higher than when they went to bed. Brian
