  1. Fin and Feather out of Springfield will be haveing theirs on Oct 29th out of Mill Creek. That is the only one I know of in the next two weeks but someone else may know of more.
  2. Try this article. It was written by a local guy and is very good as well. http://www.mwbt.com/articlefizzprey1105.htm
  3. Thanks Bill. I am assuming that the river bite is still a bit slow??
  4. Bill I hope your luck changes. Two of us fished Sat. up the White from Baxter to Campbell Pt. and up the James from Pt. 11 to point 14. We caught fish but only had one keeper. We fished deep and we fished shallow but overall the fishing was very tough.
  5. Fished today up the James--it was tough. Two of us managed 13 fish but only one keeper which went 4 1/2 lbs. We threw about everything a man could possible throw. There were a few guys up there fishing the Central Pro-Am and they seemed to be doing a lot of running as well. Hopefully another week of cooler temps will help speed that spinnerbait bite up!!!
  6. Not the report I was wanting to hear. I will be out both Saturday and Sunday rain or shine. I will be running up the James most likely on Saturday--especially if it is raining. Sunday I plan to hit a few spot between Joe Bald and Campbell point. I will give a report following the weekend.
  7. Bill, Not a problem, I understand. I will figure these two spots out--I am on a mission!!
  8. Bill, Without giving away your sweet spots can you tell me where you are refering to when you say cemetary and Red Barn? I have looked all over my Hot Spots maps and can not find them. Thanks!!
  9. Interesting. Thanks for the post.
  10. SKMO, Thanks for the info. Why did Shaw get DQ'ed?
  11. Bill, Your reports are awesome. Thanks!
  12. Bill, What does Faircloth's boat look like? I will follow him Sunday more than likely. Thanks a bunch for the added info. i have been following it on the BASS website but i appreciate your first hand info.
  13. Bill, I will not be able to get out on the water till Sunday. I am going to be at the weight in Sat. though. If I am correct the field will be cut to 12 by Sunday is that correct? How many of these deep guys are fishing from K-City to say the Campbell PT area? Which guys in the top 15 or so are fishing deep that would be good to follow. I want to follow KVD but he probably not fishing deep structure. Any help would be apprecitated. Thanks!
  14. Bill, I you don't mind keeping us posted on the weights each day that would be great. I will not be able to make it down until Sat. but I would love to hear the stories from Thurs. and Friday's weigh-ins. Thanks!!
  15. I am going with Aaron Martins to win the whole thing on his magic drop shot worm. He is the king of drop shotting and he will pull something off here. I like Swindle to be in the top 3 as well. Chapman knows the lake as well or better than most of them probably due to his close proximity but if the James bite is not going I don't see him doing real well. KVD is very versitle and you can't count a guy like him out. With Angler of the Year on the line I see Ike finding fish somehow, someway so I will put him third behind Martins and Swindle. Winning weight will be 59 pounds for 4 days.
  16. Bill, What are your thoughts on 6 lb test line vs. 8 lb test when drop shotting and split shotting? I have been told that if I will drop down to 6 lb test that I can catch three more fish to the one I am catching now with my 8 lb test line. I am mostly using the P-Line Floroclear--not true florocarbon but it is coated with it. I am getting ready to experiment with the BPS XPS florocarbon line. Just curious if 6 lb test will make that much difference. I have also heard that there is more difference in line strength between 6 and 8 lb line than any other two lines (8 vs 10, 10 vs 12 ect). I am a bit hesitent to drop down to 6 lb line.
  17. Two of us fished Sat. a.m. (9/9) with little luck. We caught three short fish early and then not another the rest of the morning. We fished from Joe Bald to Campbell point on main lake humps and points. The slack water and bright sky made it tough. We did see some of the Heartland Elite guys out and talked to a couple of them. Some were having some luck while others were struggling. Seems to me that if you find any fish at all stay put because they seem to be somewhat concentrated. Is that what some of you others are finding?
  18. I heard the James was super tough today. I will be out early in the morning to watch some of these guys fish and see how they fish some of the deep spots.
  19. Bill, What graph do you have? I just purchased a LCX-17M and love it. I am still trying to get it set the way I want it (sensitivity, gray line ect.) but so far I am very impressed. Were you fishing main lake points or humps?
  20. Rastus, As for the bite after dark. Sat. morning the bite for me didn't really start till around 9:30 in the morning and I fished until 11:30 catching fish up till then. Sunday and Monday the bite was on right at sun up and shut off pretty quick after (by 8:00 or 8:30) for us anyway. Hope this helps some.
  21. I fished Sat, Sun, and Monday mornings this weekend and had pretty good luck between Joe Bald and Campbell Pt. on carolina rigged french fries and drop shot rigs. Sat. morning I caught 8 fish with 4 keepers, Sunday was 10 fish with 3 keepers and Monday was 6 fish no keepers. I do feel the fishing got tougher as the weekend went along. Main lake humps and gravel points is where we caught fish. Sat. the fish were locked in at 27 feet--Sunday we had better luck in 30-32 feet and Monday was random--fish caught anywhere from 24 to 32 feet. Hopefully now that the lake traffic is going to be slowing down the fishing will pick up. A couple big tournaments the next two weekends--Heartland Elite and BASS Elite--maybe these guys will help show us where some of the bigger fish are right now--up the James?????
  22. Growler, Hey the unit is brand new, never been opened. It is setting in the box still. Let me know if you are interested or know someone who is. Feel free to email any offers. FF
  23. I have a brand new Lowrance LCX-17M for sale. It is new in the box--never opened, coming with everything including the owners manual. It has a 200 kHz skimmer transducer. This unit retails for $899.00. I will take $750.00 for the unit. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...arTarget=browse If you are interested please email me at elliottpainting@yahoo.com
  24. I was just wondering how many of you target docks as a main area for finding fish. I have not targeted them enough in my opinion and am curious if spots and smallies will hold on docks or is it just primary largemouth? I would think at this time of year dock fishing would be by far best at night. I was just wondering how many of you hit docks regularly and what approach you take to fishing them.
  25. Fishing Sunday a.m. was a bit tougher. Saw a lot of boats out and about but not a lot of guys catching much. We managed three spots in four hours and we missed a few. We hit about 10 different areas but we have to spend to much time searching for fish. As I have mentioned before--I am new to drop shotting and I can tell real quick that my Lowrance X49 isn't going to get the job done. I will be upgrading real soon. What are your guys thoughts on the Lowrance X135?
