  1. Two of us hit the water around 10 Sun. a.m. and started fishing gravel/chunck rock points right off the start. We had 4 short smallies in the boat in the first hour and then we blanked the rest of the day (till 3:30). The lack of wind wasn't helping us but the fish had moved. Where I am not sure. We did try some secondary points but had no luck there either. Anyone have any suggestions. We did see 60 degree water in a few places.
  2. Well I got my honey-do's done around noon and decided to see if the wife wanted to tag along and head down to the lake for a couple hours. We got to K-City (Joe Bald) about 2 and went up past point 16 and hit a few points. First two had nothing but the third point we hit had some fish. I ended up boating 5 smallies, one largemouth, and one spot. Nothing real big but a couple nice fish. The wife was cold and ready to leave around 5 so we took off but I wished I could have stayed longer. I only threw a grub and a stick but after reading some of the other reports I should have thrown a spinnerbait. I will do that tomorrow!!! Here are a couple pics. I don't know how to rotate the one pic, sorry. [attachmentid=352
  3. Ranger Nice meeting you as well. Maybe we can hook up sometime for another trip. Are you heading down anytime soon? I will down sometime over the weekend.
  4. Waded the mouth of Swan last night with limited luck but had a lot of fun. Two of us started the night off with a real nice fish--my buddy caught a 5 pound carp that we were hoping was a nice walleye but no such luck. We ended the night with 7 nice male whites. One gentleman next to us caught an 18 in walleye and a few whites but that is all we saw caught. Slow night on the numbers but a wonderful night to be out.
  5. I have heard some good bass reports coming out of the K-City area up to Campbell Pt. Where is Campbell point located??? Are any other species (crappie, whites ect) going at all around the Kimberling area?? What is the water temp around there? I plan to get out Sat. and hit the water. Thanks in advance!!!
  6. Amen SKMO--That is exactly why I moved to this area!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Thanks a bunch SKMO!!!!
  8. I am not real familar with the Kings River area and I may be pulling my boat over there Sunday a.m. for some crappie fishing. If I am pulling it from Kimberling where do I want to put in at?? Does Viola have a ramp? Is that the best place to put in?? Any help is welcomed!!
  9. How has the bass fishing been this past week on the Rock? Any action mid lake around the Kimberling area?? What about up the Kings or James rivers? I am thinking of heading up the Kings for some crappies on Sunday if it isn't pooring down rain and may try and hook into some largemouths. Just wondering if anyone has been having any luck. Thanks
  10. I am fairly new to the area and I was wanting to join a local bass club. I live in Nixa and I saw on a site a while back that they had a club but i can't find that site now. Does anyone have any info on a club in Nixa or know someone who might. If I remember right they hold meeting on the first Monday of the month and I would like to try and make the March one if at all possible. Thanks
  11. I am realitivly new to the area and was wanting some input on fishing line used on TR. Since the water is so clear how many of you use flourocarbon line? I have been lucky enough to get by with Spiderwire on my flipping tackle in KS and OK but don't imagine I will be so lucky here. Can a guy use strickly moss green colored mono? If I go with flourocarbon do you guys feel you have to still downsize your line or can a guy get by with 20 lb test??? What flourocarbon lines do you guys recommend. I have been looking at picking up some of the P-Line Flouroclear and giving it a try. Thanks in advance!!
  12. Ryan here is what I have for tournaments on TR. March 25th (The Best of the Best Tournament Series) and an ABA tournament April 29th (SuperBass) Stockton has a couple coming up on Feb. 12th and 26th Superbass on Stockton March 5th That is all I know at this time. quote name='ryan' date='Feb 11 2006, 06:02 PM' post='4560'] anyone know when the next bass tourney on TR or any other lake around here is just wondering
  13. I am still fairly new to the area and have fished Table Rock for years while down here on vaction and I am taking some time to learn some parts of BS but I have never fished Taney for bass. Is there good numbers of all three (largemouth, smallies, and KY's)???? I have heard there are big largemouth in Taney and that the new record fish may be lurking. Is the water new Powersite typically warmer?? Can you fish shallow water year round (esp. in the summer) since the water temp. is so much cooler??? Do you guys usually throw the same things you would throw at TR and BS?? Basically i am lookin for some general info on what fishing on Taney for bass is like. Thanks guys!!!
  14. OK--I have a brand new Minn Kota 50 lb thrust transom mount that I want to make into a bow mount. I can get a minn Kota bow mount on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew if the shaft from my transom mount (after I take off the transom mount) would fit into a Minn Kota bow mount?
  15. Just wondering how the walleye bite is. I have not been out since last Sunday (Jan. 29th) so I don't have anything new to report. We have been catching some bass on jerk baits but I was wondering if the "eyes" were up and moving. It looks like some more winter like weather is here for a while and I don't really care for it. Come on spring!!!!
  16. I am most familar with "Upper Bull Shoals" I would say your best bet will be K-Dock to Barker's Hole but that is just based on my experiece and what I have been told. This would be a question for Phil Lilly or someone who targets walleye a lot more than I do.
  17. Big Tony, I would throw suspending jerk baits (rogues, husky jerks, thundersticks ect) on the mud flats and points. I would head towards Barker's Hole but you will be able to catch them around the K-Dock area as well. Swimming minnows will also be good. Look for fish moving shallow--10 feet or less. I have been twice in the last four days with no luck on the walleye. You will catch some bass on the jerk baits as well. Others on here have been around this area way longer than I have and can probably give you more info but this will get you started in the right direction.
  18. Well two of us put in a K-Dock today at 10:00 am and fished till 2:45. We caught three small largemouth at Trigger. We mainly threw rogues/husky jerks and some soft jerk baits for bass/walleye. We fished points and chunk rock. We didn't hit the flats but did see a few boats throwing stickbaits on them. We did a lot of watching and never saw a boat on the flats catch an "eye". We did try dropping a jig into some of the brush for a crappie but didn't manage to get a hit there either. It was an awesome day on the water though. Anyone else get out? Anyone catching any walleye or crappie?
  19. I put in at Beaver Creek Friday afternoon at 2:30 and fished till 5 and caught 4 small largemouths on a rogue. I was hoping to snag a walleye but that didn't happen. I graphed fish in all different locations--some suspended some hugging the bottom. I did try throwing a 1/4 hair jig but that produced nothing. I also threw a few swimming minnows with no results. I am going to try and get out Sunday for a while and fish. If I go by myself I will put in at Beaver because it is easier with one man, K-Dock is a bit tougher. Anyone else get out on Sat. in the rain???
  20. Ryan Were you mainly fishing points, bluff banks, or chunk rock, or all three. What depth were the bass holding? I will be heading out sometime this weekend if it doesn't rain me out both Sat. and Sun. We need the rain so it is good it is coming but I also want to fish. Did you catch all your bass on jerk baits. I was wondering if there was a jig bite going at all.
  21. Ryan, Sounds good--let me know how you do. Man I wish I was still in college!!!!!
  22. [] Phil, Were you just fishing for crappie or did you throw any rogues for walleye? Any bass caught? I am wanting to head to either K-Dock or Beaver creek Sat. for some walleye and bass action. Just wondering if you targeted either of those. Thanks!!
  23. Ryan, I dropped you a personal message.
  24. I haven't fished pothole since Nov. but it was super shallow then. Are the walleye between Beaver and Barker being caught on points or mud flats. How deep are the fish holding?
  25. Ryan, Give me a call when you get a chance. I live in Nixa and I would like to talk to you about bass tournaments. Try this site out. http://www.midwestbasstournaments.com/ Matt Elliott 880-6139
