  1. Hey all, Long story short, My oldest son slammed my 8'6" St Croix Premier in the van door this last weekend. Any Ideas? Thanks, Sean
  2. I to have noticed this type of behavior at Bssp. When I flyfish no one messes with me but if I change to Spin fishing The hardcore flyfisherman seem to make it a point to drift into my fishing lane. I had this happen on more then one occasion. Why can't we all just get along. There is enough stream for all of us.
  3. Well for the dries I would start at the spring and work down to the second handicapped access. Small(18 and smaller) Renegades and cracklebacks. In the evening a fair hatch of pale evening duns comes on about 5:00 or so. As far as the maribous and mini jigs, from the top of the falls into the big pool down to the whistle bridge. Pay close attention to the outlet area from the hatchery in zone 2. The black and yellow, honey and any white/red/pink combination should work. Try the "John Deere or Bedspread mini jigs. For an excellent report on the fishing go to "www.missouritrout.com/weavers They give reports twice a week and what they call their "A" List of what worked best. What weekend are you gonna be down. I and my family are going down on 08-05to 08-07.
  4. lilly, The cam is awesome. Just had a chance to really look. Only had a chance to look at night up till now. The fish are amazing. We want to get down this summer and do some fishing and relaxing. Any suggestions on a good resort to stay at? I really enjoy the forum and meeting new friends. Sean
  5. bb3605s Lilly is right on with what he said. I might add that the mini jigs under an indicator work great also. Try the "john deere" or the white floss mini's. also set about 12 inches from the bottem.
  6. Hey 10pointer, Sounds like a lot of fun. Hope there are a few lunkers with our names on them at both streams. Let me know when the exact date of the fall event is. Might try to get down that weekend. Tight lines. Sean
  7. Hey all, Just wanted to let anyone know that we( my dad, my two oldest sons and myself) will be down that weekend. Would like to meet if anyone else is going down. Hope the weather stays fairly good and looks like stream conditions are going to be ideal unless we get a major weather pattern change. I will be the short heavyset guy in brn neoprene waders, tan vest and camo boonie hat. Hope to meet some of you there. Sean
  8. Hey Joe: Welcome. It's nice to see a fellow Independence-ite on the site. If you enjoy trout fishing try out the urban lakes around KC. Bowlin Rd Lk, Chaumire Park Lake in NKC and Coot lake at James A Reed in Lee summit. I hope to talk to you more. Sean
  9. My top 5 are the "john deere", white floss and bead spread mini jigs, 1/80th or smaller, the glo-ball in original 3color, white/red dot or chartruse/red dot and the renegade or crackleback. RE the renegade what My uncle told me to do is use size 12-16 renegade and about 12-18" above pinch on a bb shot. Use this at any fast moving water like the shoots at the bottem of the hatchery into Zone 2. pitch it up and let it drift back down.
  10. That just makes me cringe. In the words of Dave Letterman " And the number one reason to wear sunglasses while fishing."
  11. Hey Guys, I fish Bennett alot and would like to see how to tie the "John Deere" and the brassie. Any help would be welcome.
  12. My thoughts exactly. I to have tried those other sites but was turned off by their snobby, boarish attitudes, like other types of fishing were beneath them. This site is so totally opposite. thanks and welcome
  13. How is everyone today. Weather is great for some C&R on the fly. I flyfish @ Bennett but would like some info on Montauk and Taneycomo(ie where to stay, what works best and so on). Any and all replys are welcome. Also looking for online fishing buddies and getting together and making new fishing friends. I am just learning to tie my own flies and would appreciate any hints tips or tricks. Have a great year and looking forward to chatting.
