I am planning an overnight float trip from Bay Nothing to Doniphan at the end of August. Any hazardous areas that we need to watch for? One of my friends that used to canoe the river many years ago said to watch out for Willy's root. Is the root still there or has it disappeared over the years? Although I have canoed many times this will be my first overnight trip on the river.

How is the River looking around Van Buren after the flood? What effects did the flood have, any new holes or log jams?

Along the Missouri/Arkansas line Commercial fishing has taken its toll on the large Catfish that once roamed this river. It seems most of the catch now is small Channel Catfish and drum.

I mostly fish the area of the St. Francis that forms the Missouri/Arkansas border south of Wilhelmina.

Where is Fisherman's hook?

Don, I camped at Tyler Bend walk-in area June 13-17. Friday and Saturday there were a lot of Fathers and daughters camped in the group camping area. While I was wade fishing I spoke with a Fly fisherman at the Tyler Bend access late Saturday afternoon who was camped in the group camping area I think he was using a green rabbit hair fly, could this have been you?

What color Rooster Tails work the best in the Eleven Point?

I have been stream fishing for a while now and catch quite a few fish using spinning equipment. I was at the Buffalo River last week and saw a guy Fly Fishing for Smallmouth and Bluegills. I know very little about Fly Fishing but it looks like a fun way to catch fish. I have a few questions about stream Fly Fishing. 1st: What types of Flies will I need for Bluegill and Smallmouth Bass? 2nd: How do I work the Flies and in what sections of the stream? Again I am new to Fly Fishing so any information will help

mulelipper: I am planning a Float trip for Gooseneck to Doniphan. The Missouri Department of Conservation's "A Paddler's Guide to Missouri" shows this to be a 20 mile trip. Are there any hazards or DANGEROUS sections on this part of the river? I was at Gooseneck campground 3-31-07 the river appeared to be up a little and the current was very swift.

I will be Camping on the Buffalo River for a week in June. What are your favorite sections of river for Canoeing/Wade fishing at that time of year? I have Camped at Rush and had alot of luck Wade Fishing for Smallmouth. How is the Fishing on the upper and middle sections of River?
