  1. If that doesn't work out--Let me know--I am sending you a personal email with my info.
  2. Has the motor sold?
  3. Give me a phone number or a personal email and we can talk.
  4. What is your price range on motor or going different rig? Have a 1990 16 ft vee with 50 hp force with trailer, electric trolling motor, live well, etc that I would part with.
  5. Trav- What size shaft motor are you looking for?? Tiller or remote?? electric or manual start? I run into 25 to 35 hp motors here often because of river fishing on the big MO. Also am close to Omaha where there is a source for 20-35 hp used motors.
  6. Trav - Gill fishing sounds like fun. How deep is the water in the channel in the coves you are fishing? Have a rather deep-vee boat-- can I get to the gills without losing a prop or running a-ground.
  7. Lilley's hands down. Have stayed there and rent a boat slip nearly every year for several years. Great people to work with. They will help you catch fish and are just good people. They have everything you will need. Will have my boat there next week. Hope fishing is good.
  8. Again thanks for your help. Will give Cow Creek a try. Probably not the best choice of weeks to spend in Branson, but only time the kids could get away from jobs in KC. Anytime spent fishing and being with the family is worth it though. This forum is the greatest--Thanks Phil and all who post. I really enjoy.
  9. focused: thanks for the report. Moonshine worked out great last year in Aug. Hardly anyone at the ramp and close to a great cove for kids. Any thoughts on other ramps close by that would not have lots of traffic over the 4th holiday? Looking for a somewhat secluded ramp and cove to pull grandkids slow on tube and skis without fear of being run over. Will have boat at Lilleys fishing Taney most of the week, kids and grandkids coming in on Thursday. Water temp in Taney is a little on the cool side for kids. Wouldn't mind if I had to drive a-ways to find the right spot on Table Rock.
  10. Anyone know the status of Moonshine Beach? We will be in Branson next week and would like to launch from that ramp if open.
  11. Welcome from SW Iowa. You will learn lots from this site.
  12. Phil, We were in Branson over the weekend and saw hundreds of school buses. I am guessing they were there to watch NAIA tournament. Is that a good guess??? Wish I would have been able to stay over to Tuesday to watch some b-ball. Wife and I love it.
  13. I would spend the extra money and get the SD card model. I have Garmin Vista C and a Legend non-color neither have SD card. Both are now discontinued (only 24 MB and 8 MB of memory). Most of the older non SD card models of Garmin are being discontinued. I added Central and East Lakes and fishing hot spots CD that have most of the lakes in those areas including South MO. I use this all the time on my boat marking waypoints where fish were caught and it has fairly accurate depths on the lake from the topos. If you go to big water a GPS can be a life-saver. Advantage of SD card is that you don't have to erase old maps and reload from your computer. If you stay in only one area that is no problem though; just keep your local map in the memory. I also use my gps for geocaching which has been really fun and has really become popular with loads of people. Watch for specials at different places including e-bay. You can get some good prices.
  14. There is a fishmark 480 emulator that you can download and run on your computer for some practice with the controls and settings. Kind of neat to play with in the off season. Go to the eagle website www.eaglegps.com/Products/Sonar/FishMark480.htm and find the emulator on the left side. I too have problems in the arch mode getting good readings have to turn down sensitivity too much. Seems to work in fish symbol mode better but that really cuts the sensitivity down. If you find the solution let me know. Good fishing
  15. Hi, I'm new as registered member but not as a reader. Have enjoyed reading the forum for some time now. Have been to Branson many times staying at Lilley's, Trout Hollow, and other condos. Have fished the trophy area (fly fishing) with Brett Rader and below in my boat many times, Table Rock for crappie, and Stockton for walleye and crappie. I am new to flyfishing but I'm getting "the bug". Always have enjoyed my stays in Branson. Have caught lots of fish and met many great people. Retired as a high school teacher 3 years ago after 34 years. Had so much fun teaching, I went back and now am finishing my 37th year of teaching. Hopefully will be able to fish more this summer, time will tell. Will be at Stockton over Easter with most of the family and another couple. Live in small SW Iowa town on the Mo border. Will continue to enjoy all of the great "fishing stories".
