  1. I met WoundedOne and his son at the lower access and we immediately started catching them. We caught about 25 between us. And we only fished it for about 3hrs and never did fish out any of the holes. When you came by Ollie, I had went down to Shoal with the bait caster to hit the confluence looking for some bass. I struck gold too. Caught a 14-15 inch LM right off the get go. I then hit another hole near by that produced 3 brownies and 2 goggle eye. One other brownie that would have went about 14inches didn't quite make it to my hand. But did put on a little show none the less. Called it quits after about 30 minutes and headed back to the truck. I told Dylan as we were coming in that I thought that was your truck. When I got back from Shoal he told me you stopped by. We saw you fishing but wasn't close enough to identify you. We went on up towards the park and worked our way back down. Nothing happing up that way. I think you worked them over pretty good.
  2. But only one has the guts and dedication to follow through with it.
  3. Happy Birthday Cricket!! You have had a remarkable year. Lets hope this next one is even better. And you too BRBF. Hope you have another great year. Lets see some fish porn!!! BTW aren't you guy's twins????
  4. With all due respect, they didn't design them to be in a box in the closet. If it was where it was designed to be, I don't think you would have had any trouble finding it.
  5. You ever have trouble getting yer hair to lay down???
  6. I don't think you have to be "Indian" to get a government check. The africans have been doing it for about as long as the country has been here.
  7. Technically, no. It may only be passed down to family members. And I think only after death. And I ain't feeling sick. Does sound delish. Not sure I could eat fish without some Pork-N-Beans though! And them taters need to be fried. With onions. Now we is talking some good grub. And that cornbread, you did put some jalapeeners and some cheese in that right??????
  8. It is not really a license. You have to apply for a permit from, if I remember correctly, the USFWS. And I think you may have to apply for a permit for every bird or part of. It is not a one time deal that covers you for every bird. And the last I had heard, it was a hell of a waiting list and took years to get. I am not sure, but I think the parts can only be used for religious reasons or display. I don't think tying flies will....well....fly.
  9. Says the oh so mature kid with the adult Mohawk.
  10. How does classifing fish as game or non-game make one God??? I am begining to think you are spending too much time in Arkansas with GM. As an avid outdoormans for 40+ years, you don't seem to know much.
  11. Seasons and limits have nothing to do with it being a game fish. A game fish is as listed by the MDC.
  12. In the code book it also list every method allowed to harvest fish. Gigging and bowfishing are not listed under any game fish.
  13. Hey great job TH. Nothing will pump you like scoring your first time! Let us know about your next trip. I hope is it even more successful for you. And take some pics if you can. We love fish porn!!!!
  14. Smallie sure got quiet all of the sudden. I checked and see he has been here. Maybe he don't feel so cock sure of himself.
  15. The Grand daddy??? Not sure about that one. It has a lot of very good info about fly fishing in general but not so much about trout fishing in Missouri. It has a few very general maps of the trout parks and some hit and miss info about private parks and such. To me, it was more of a starter book for trout fishing. I am proud to have it in my outdoor library. I would like to get my hands on a book with plenty of stories and some general info on actual trout fishing in Missouri. Some real, hands on adventures with some first hand information about the area. I am not looking for exact coordinates,I just want to feel like I was there with you.
  16. No worries Mitch. I wasn't meaning you but, you are up for this aren't you????
  17. Get in line. It is now time put up or shut up. One day. One river. He chose the jet, I choose the water. He said he could catch more out of the jet than I could the canoe. If he is a man of his word, we'll see about that. To make it fair, I won't pick any water in my backyard. I will pick one east of the James. Actually, I think he has seen the light. Ha! Ya still keep in touch with your so-roar-ity sista's tinhorn?
  18. Ah com'on Mitch. It'll be a hoot. BTW it is back PADDLE, back PADDLE. He very sternly stated it was not a PADDLEboat.
  19. Well unless you are with Buzz in the winter, you'll be ok. I am so much trouble it ain't funny now! But in reality a canoe is only as stable as the operator. If they have no or little experience in a canoe, winter time is not the best time to take them. My father will be 73 in Jan. He still solo's in a 17 footer. And I hope to turn out the same way. Although if I found a solo dirt cheap, cause that is the way I am, I could see myself possibly getting it.
  20. I have no doubt about your fishing prowess. It is your allegiance to the brotherhood of MFU that I am concerned with. I have concerns that you may submit in order to be near self proclaimed greatness.
  21. Well put your money where your mouth is. Your jet and Mitch against me and a yet to be picked partner and my canoe and I pick the water. Talk nice and I'll pick you. But I don't want you throwing this thing just because of your teenage lustful infatuation.
  22. Yeah, pretty much. Good thing I am tall so they don't though.
  23. You should get out more. But to really get to the meat of the question, it would depend on what type of water you are on. On your bigger rivers, I would tend to agree that a jet would probably have an advantage. You will have the added comfort of advanced electronic and a trolling motor too. But on smaller waters, such as I fish, I would have to lean towards the canoe/kayak. You will be able to float over many areas a jet would most likely have to be pulled over. And when you get to a strainer, well I certainly know which one I would rather have to mess with. But for overall access to stream and rivers of Missouri, I will stick with my canoe. And I just have one because that is all I can fish out of at any one time. And if I decide to go by myself, I just put 80 pound lead ingot that I have from Doe Run in the front. I have been thinking about getting one of those sawmill slabs that you stand on and paddle around. That sounds like a lot of fun.
  24. Jeeze Luweeze. Close your mouth and wipe your chin.
  25. Oh the times I have started to post only to delete. What a waste of our educational tax dollars. Remember Tim when I said good luck???
