  1. Some bass posted to FB were that were not gigged but went to the freezer today.
  2. Well its my bad too. I have been feeling a little onery today. On a side point, if anyone does come to the show and doesn't like it, which I don't think will happen, but if you do, you still can have a great day in Springfield as there are some really good local tackle shops and great eats. So all is not lost on this show if you happen to not dig it. So get off of the couch, quit complaining and get out.
  3. That is a great fish and congrats all the way around. I don't want to be Debbie Downer on this post but that is the worst way to hold a fish ever! A fish especially that size should never be held that way. That is harder and more damanging on the fish than the hook you put in him. If you want to pose for a pic, please hold them with both hands or if doing a selfie, hold with the back of your hand facing up while you have your thumb pointing down. Again, great fish and great report.
  4. You want specifics but you don't give any yourself. Is it more than 2 booths and some boats? Yes. Are they going to name every vendor and every product they are bringing? No. Is it worth going in my opinion? Most definitely! The money goes to a great cause. Is it worth it for you to go? I have no idea. You don't offer any details yourself.
  5. Some people like liver. Some don't. You will never know if you like liver if you never try it.
  6. The question you asked was what to expect. It says to expect outdoor hunting and fishing equipment. Everyone has a different view of worthless.
  7. I thought that was pretty self explanatory.
  8. Did any of you happen to click on the link and read? Taken directly from the link: The Arc of the Ozark’s Hunt & Fish Outdoor Show is a premier outdoors equipment show in Springfield, MO which benefits The Arc of the Ozarks. For the second year, Hunt & Fish Outdoor Show will be held in the Springfield Expo Center in downtown Springfield. The event will feature more booths than ever filled with hunting, fishing and other outdoors equipment from throughout the Midwest.
  9. Well the Ozarks is producing as big a fish as she is going to. The Ozarks have just never produced really large anything except women. It's just a fact of the terrain. You can dream about it all you want. Even our lakes only produce fish half the size of your dream states. Each and every 17+ Ozark stream bass is a jewel and a trophy. Enjoy it.
  10. It has been a relatively mild winter as far as precipitation for sure. The temps have been decent also. We are never going to get rid of gigging. And I see no reason to. But I could be in favor of putting restrictions on the length of the gigging pole. That would serve two purposes. 1. One wouldn't be able to gig deep waters 2. By not being able to gig the deeper waters, one would not be able to misidentify legal gigging fish.
  11. Now you are trying to split hairs. Poaching is poaching. Size doesn't matter. In the very photo of the poachers, there were no large smallmouth. One in fact I would say was undersized. There was one maybe two big LM bass and the rest were decent. But you can look at FB all day long and see large fish, smallmouth and largemouth, being harvested from the rivers all over this state. I've seen and you've seen it too. You guys are a little late with the gigging post this year. What gives?
  12. Don't kid yourself. It has nothing to do with picking and choosing. Poachers aren't picky. They will take all, big or little. And then you add in all the legal fisherman and you can loose a lot of fish. It's a pure numbers game. Legal and illegal rod and reel fisherman will by far take more fish than giggers ever could. And I'm not standing up for poaching giggers.
  13. This is getting out of hand! Please continue the updates!
  14. That sounds about right!
  15. Ain't that the truth! You ever met him? I fished with him a couple of times. The second time just because I couldn't believe the first one!
  16. I applaud your efforts Ron and I stand with you 1000%! I have posted this type of action from the legislators here for the last couple of years. Not many here have any concern. If fact some are rather flippant about it. It must appear to some that it is more of a hunting thing and won't affect fish so who cares. I just don't think they are able to see the bigger picture and the huge consequences that are about to happen. And they are about to happen! We almost lost it all if it wasn't for the Governor that they all hate saved it for them.
  17. Bozo Texino The Rambler Port Beaumont Texas Colossus of Rhodes Herbie The Mad Hatter Gypsy Sphinx
  18. There is a great article about the Neosho Smallmouth in the Jan issue of Riverhills Traveler. Are we done with the Rock Bass?
  19. That one just happens to be darker at the time it was caught. I had one in a tank for a couple of years and you could practically watch him change.
  20. A very beautifully marked Shadow.
  21. They appear to be Shadows with some unusual markings.
