We found the crappie above Cape Fair last weekend right on the bank. It was mostly males, but they were dandies. Did keep 2 females that were just under 16", the rest of my limit was mostly 13-14" males. They were holding tight to cover. Ron

We are hoping for some more clouds tomorrow to help improve our luck. Haven't had many chances to get on the water the last year and half, been building a new house, which is now finished. Perhaps I will have more opportunities to spread good news as well. I look forward to sharing any reports that are pertinent, as I have certainly enjoyed reading/learning from all those who have posted their reports on this site. Ron

I've been a member here for a couple of years and I have lurked the posts almost daily since. Thought I would put in my two cents on the fishing today. My brother-in-law and I put in at Cape Fair today and we fished from Woolly creek all the way, past the hwy. 173 bridge on Flat Creek. We threw stick baits, no fish. We threw spinner baits on windy banks, no fish. We switched to Eakin's jigs and were finally able to boat 5 fish (3 Kys. and 2 LMs, the largest was 14 in., the shortest was 12 in.) in the afternoon. It was a very lite bite and the fish did not seem to hold the bait long enough to get a hook on them. We had a lot of trailers that were pulled down after a failed hook set. It was a beautiful day to be out on the lake, none the less. We watched an Osprey fish for about 30 minutes, he was having better luck than we were, we thought we might get some pointers. But, no luck there either. We are going to try it again tomorrow. I will post again tomorrow, with better news I am sure. Ron
