  2. I just purchased a lead melting pot and I am now searching for some molds. I am looking for a used Jig Head mold with several cavaties. I found one at bass pro that has 7 cavaties with jig heads ranging from 1/32oz to 1/2oz. I would also be willing to look at a bullet sinker mold with different size weights as well as split shot molds. Thanks for looking. I have added the pictures from the Bass Pro Website of what I am looking for. Bittle
  3. I grew up on the lake my whole life until I moved to St. Louis for college. One summer I worked on Indian Point boat dock. I was working one day and noticed a small group of these in the water. I sat and watched them for about 20 minutes. They were about the size of a contact lense and in a group of about 7-8. I told the guy at the floating cafe about them and he called me crazy. So I caught one in a cup and took it to him. He was amazed but was reluctant to pay me the money I bet him that tablerock lake had freshwater jellyfish. I only saw them for about 1 week and it was only a few at a time. Its the only time I have ever seen them on the lake. I tell people about it and they still think I'm crazy. Bittle
  4. Thanks for the info! I appreciate the help. Bittle
  5. I have a few questions regarding this topic. The first is what type of polie is better for this type. I have medium heavy rod with braided line on it. Just wondering some preferences for this technique. Also I know rogues and the x-raps, and pointers come in different profiles. Is it true that the bass will hit a larger profile in warmer water or what is the determination of the size of the bait. Thanks, Greg
  6. No I didn't get it. Anyway sorry I didn't get it this weekend Hopefully next time I'm down I can stop in and get it. Thanks, Bittle

  9. Hello, I have a problem regarding a vacation that my family is wanting to plan. We are wanting to head to Canada for a week possibly to a fly in Lodge. We would like to fish for the week and hang out with each other. The problem I have is that I have no clue where to start looking. There are several lodges that look interesting but not sure how the fishing would be. Here are the details that we are looking at. Approximately 10 people traveling 5 couples a week stay with good fishing!!! Any suggestions or referrals would be appreciated. Thanks, Bittle
  10. Do You still have any of these canoes avaliable? I'm going to be in town this weekend and would like to take a look. Thanks G. Bittle
  11. I fished last tuesday and wednesday with a total of 13 keepers in two hard days of fishing. Tuesday morning went to long creek area and caught 2 keepers. Both females still had their eggs. That evening my dad and myself went to james river arm and ended up with seven keepers between the both of us. Both males and females and none of them had spawned yet either. Wednesday morning went back up the james river arm. I put in at daylight and pulled out at noon with 4 keepers. Both male and females, still none had spawned yet. Wednesday evening went back up the James with my brother caught some short ones but nothing that would keep. I think the fish are confused about the spawn. I'm not sure if they are or aren't spawning but it seems that they are having trouble finding spots to spawn or because of the low water they are delayed for some reason. Not sure but I wish they would turn on and spawn or we will be hurting a couple years from now. I'm not sure about the white bass either. I haven't caught any yet this year but I'm not sure if they have moved up the river to spawn yet or if they are still holding back as well. My 2 cents, and its worth about as much. Bittle
  12. I know everybody's attention is on the crappie and bass at the moment and I'm not going to lie so is mine. I couldn't help but remember a couple years ago fishing with my dad for crappie using minnows. We found a bunch of spawning catfish and let me tell you 8lb catfish on 6lb line will drag you all around a boat. But what a load of fun. I was wondering if the catfish spawn begins with the crappie or a little later with the bass. Just a quick thought. I'm usually not a serious catfish fisherman but my dad reminded me of what a blast we had. In fact two days later he took my mom out and I was on a ski boat with some friends and when I stopped by to check on them, my mom was screaming chasing a 5lb cat around the boat. Any info will be helpful, I just hope its a little later in the spawning season because my bones are itching for the crappie run. Thanks if advance. Bittle
  13. I found this website in Tennessee that has Bobby Garland Custom Baits. http://www.usbass-tn.com/612560.html The only bad thing is you can't order online. I emailed the guy about purchasing some of the baits and he responded within hours so it wouldn't take long to make a transaction. The website has photos of the baits as well as the color selection. The prices are also on the page per 20 minnows. Hope this helps too. I know last year we did real well on the electric chicken color. Tight Lines Bittle

  16. Caught a beautiful day on sunday around 60 degrees and I was down visiting my parents in the cape fair area. I convinced my dad to head to the lake for a few hours in the afternoon and ended up being a pretty good evening. We caught crappie sporatically around standing timber on in anywhere from 9 to 2 feet of water. We ran up the James river arm almost as far as we could go. Be careful up there right now, the water is so low its pretty easy to run into a mud flat.......I'm speaking from experience. Anyway the bite was decent. In total between my dad, brother, and me we caught probably 20 crappie total. Only 6 that were long enough to keep. We were throwing swimming minnows in silver and chartruese. Grey seemed to work the best. We talked to a couple different fisherman that were throwing live minnows and they both had a nice stringer of fish. My dad only caught one on a minnow so don't know their secret. They didn't like to speak about it much. Anyway I'm a Police Officer from St. Louis that grew up for 22 years down there and I miss the lakes the most. I always try to make my way down during the white bass run as well as the crappie spawn. I will be taking some vacation in the coming months. I might be fishing during the week in the coming months and will be fishing by myself more than likely. If anyone wants to join me Ill post when I'm coming down. Greg
