Oh yeah on those larger fish I always make sure to keep them submerged under water as much as possible, I actually think it helps calm them down from flopping around like crazy, just my observation.

"There was a gentleman fishing in outlet #2 and I helped him land a nice 23 inch brown. Unfortunately it was hooked in the dorsal fin." Phil, That was me you helped land that fish for, I meant to tell you thanks as you were heading out but I guess you slipped out behind me. Yeah it's a shame it was hooked in the dorsal, but the good news is it launched out of my hands when I went to release it so it was in great shape. Thanks again! I was trying to be ultra careful as I had just broke off an equally as large fish right before you got there. It might have actually been a rainbow as it jumped multiple times and I could only make out the silhouette as it jumped several times but it was large. I think I probably ended up with around 10 to 15 fish that night, I quit around 10:30.

Awesome, glad to hear you had some success down there. I really would like to make it up there some time soon, but with the water running all the time I would hate to make a trip all that way and be stuck not being able to wade. Doesn't sound like there is any pattern to it all?

Well hopefully with this high water all this time, some stripers have moved up near the dam?

Anybody have any reports from Zink Dam? I drove by on my way back from Taney and it looked as though the water was still really up. Just wondering if anybody has had the chance to make it down there recently?

Zach, Well at least you managed to get out there and fish for a day or so. Okie says it probably won't be worth fishing until they run some water. I've never been out there so I can't really comment on the fishing. Let me know the next time you head that way and I will meet up with you or something.

Hey Okie, While I am thinking about it, have you ever been below Eufaula? I hear it's supposed to be really good at times but I don't think it's very flyfisher friendly.

So I am guessing we need to wait for some generation for it to really be worth fishing? Does Keystone usually have an annual draw down for the spring rains or do you know?

Any new reports from Zink Dam? I haven't had the chance to fish the area yet, but I definitely want to add it to the "to do" list. If any of you guys are from the OKC area and wanna go up and fish it sometime just let me know. Later

Zach, I am guessing you are from Oklahoma as well with your location saying Lower Illinois River? I will be coming into town late Friday night, don't know that I will be doing any fishing that night as I will be up early for a guided a trip on Sat. Hey Mizzou, Which parking lot will you be in? The parking lot near the hatchery? I will be on a guided trip in the morning but I will try to catch you sometime. I will also be watching the game but probably not for the same team you are. You guys will probably kill us this year, Mizzou is looking good and OU is down this year.
