  1. I personally wouldn't pay an annual fee to fish a specific place. On the other hand, by the time I calculate what I spend yearly on flyfishing gear, equipment, and supplies, not to mention all associated food, camping equipment, lodging, licenses for several states, and transportation costs, an annual fee of $500.00 is not comparatively outrageous. There are too many public waters that are available. I might consider to pay for one day of C&R at Rockbridge one of these days. Don
  2. What's neat is that the pregnant female may have already established a den and could give birth in the wild. Go T-wolves! Don
  3. They'll huff and they'll puff and they'll blow your house down. I'll root for the T-wolves if I knew they would not kill any livestock. Don
  4. Interesting, a good read. Thanks Steve. Don
  5. Welcome Patrick, I hope to fish the mighty White this year. Don

  7. Happy Birthday Alletec. Hope you have a good one. Maybe get some new fishing gear . Don
  8. Shawncat, 12/04/06 at Taney. 24" with 2 others over 20", all caught on a size 20 ginger GBug. My friend also caught three 20 plus inchers. It was a half day guided trip from Chartered Waters in Hollister. I caught one bigger than that the day before at Roaring River. Those four were the only 20 inchers I landed last year, even though I hooked alot more. Don
  9. Thanks Folks, You know, wisdom usually comes with age. But in my case, age came alone . Don, the old buzzard.

  12. Welcome Coyote, Wish I knew walleye enough to help you. Neat avatar. Did you hear about the blonde coyote that caught her foot in the trap? She chewed three legs off and was still caught in the trap. Don P.S. You blondes reading this don't need to worry because you're probably not a coyote.
  13. Two-headed kangaroo? Whew! I thought I lost it again. My friends wouldn't let me talk about the UFO because you all would think I'm, well, you know, nutso . But the kangaroo, I'm glad you know about it Terry because I can talk about it now. Yeah, it was hopping up the south bank of the gauntlet last October. I'm glad I can relieve myself of that one . Don
  14. Nice fish Tim, You da man. Good to hear Steve's back down there. Thanks for all of your help yesterday. I really love my new net, if i only caught one big enough to test it out. My friend caught about 30 and alot on Griffith;s Gnats during the BWO hatch yesterday. I only caught 8 on various flies. Lotsa strikes on olive marabou leech in the big hole in fron of the lodge. I spent most of my time lunker hunting. I hooked one 5lb or so on a micro egg but that fight didn't last long. It was good to get out for a change. Don
  15. Happy Birthday to both of you. Hope you have a good one....Don

  18. I'm like Beeson as far as my eclectic mix of music taste goes. I also have the last song that was on in car play in my head while I fish. I do not take music on the river with me. When I camp at night after I fish, I like a little music now and then. One night a couple of years ago, the last song I played before crashing out was "Poop in a Jar" by Hayseed Dixie. My friend complained that he couldn't sleep because the song kept playing in his head all night. Since then, I like to make that one the last song I play each night I camp. Don
  19. (Followed by sushi at Tokyo grill...) Here at Clever, we call that bait. Don
  20. A friend of mine swears that the C&F box on the right is the best all in one flybox. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_U...8RowWaterProof/ Don
  21. Count me in guys. TBA. Thanks.....Don
  22. I live rural 3 miles from both Clever and Republic. Still no power since Friday night. My yard only suffered a few broken branches because the tornado in March topped off my trees pretty good. However, I live down the road from my parents and I had to chainsaw my self back and forth from there several times. It was very dangerous out there Saturday after dark. My parents place looks like a war zone. I sawed them out of their driveway and they left the state until power is restored. I'm fortunate to have friends in Springfield to put me up a couple of nights. A friend loaned me a generator to keep the furnace going while I stay at my parents. I am a fortunate one. A co-worker from Bosnia stated that during the war, they were without heat and electricity for eight months. Again, I am a fortunate one. Be careful out there. There are still many existing unsafe situations.....Don
  23. Dano is right, On the other hand, Scientific Anglers will also give you a good line that fits your size and weight of your gear. It's worked for me for the last two years. Don
  24. Yo Leonardo, It seems that your stripping advice has led to another potentially profitable niche as associated to your current and functioning business. The calender sounds great. It would work because you are a skinny guy. I think some ladies at work would buy it because they never saw a pic of a guy slow stripping a mink. However, if you are gonna show a pic of your big brownie, I can't legally market things like that at my work. Don
  25. Hey guys, I'm in the top ten of retardo Taney casters. The thing is, is that so many fish at Taney are caught relatively close to where you stand, which has led me to just sloppin it out there too many times. Now I grant, you don't need a pretty cast to get the proper drift, which proper presentation is my focus and concentration. On the other hand, there have been several times where conditions have called for lengthy and precice casts. All of a sudden I have to focus and concentrate on every cast as opposed to flopping things out towards short distance fish. For example, wide pools at Roaring River will only result in strikes on the opposite bank that can be a challenging distance for a 4wt. Another could be the Texas Hole at San Juan River seems to yield more success with longer casts acoompanied with longer drifts. You cannot cast across it. Don
