been a while since i posted spent most of my time working on the mothership 2 she is now ready we had luck fishing on grand lake and also little sugar creek above the falls caught catfish and crappie at grand (one drum fish) caught largemouth and a few crappie on little sugar water is up and flowing nice 56 degrees we caught them on wackys and tubes watermelon green spiked with red watermelon red spiked with yelo enjoy pics keep floating russ

water is very clear now red and i launched at hog heaven around 5:15pm headed to riverside i caught 5 fish before red was in his kayak we caught at least 25 each saw the resident bald eagle, he hangs out at the end of a long pool and lives in a tree on the island up river from hog heaven red caught the biggest fish of the day and he was battling and the fish almost jumped in his kayak and got off the line before i could get a pic i saw that fish and it was what we call QUALITY FISH we took out at riverside right at dark we both we fishing wacky worms red was watermelon red and i was watermelon orange the river has change so much between these two points it is more like a lake with timber on the shorlines plenty of places for fish to hang out get out and paddle soon season coming to an end i told my friend who is selling his drift boat that i would rather see him in that boat instead of the cubicle keep floating enjoy couple pics Russ

river rat scotty caught this fish down from Hog Heaven on a chomper i dont know what color but he usually has green keep floating Russ

man i love this place we had 7 men and stayed three nights everyone caught fish my luck came on a flash minnow on my fly rod a lot of fish caught on dons crawdads smallies caught on wacky worms there were (2) 17.5 inch trout caught above turner cant wait till next time to get over there we were right above whitten when we cleaned that trout in the one picture and we let the smallmouth live keep floating Russ

the crowds have started to go away THANK GOD the river was low as i can remember i think we went 60 plus days without any measurable rain but recent rains have the waters on the rise fish are biting like crazy caught this real nice smallie off the bank at Hog Heaven right now is a deep hole there and fish are stacked like cord wood i bought another 15 dollar sammie and caught like three in a row last night all i can tell you is that this bait was worth the money threw in a pic of a humming bird enjoy keep floating Russ

party on wayne we did it up right we had 100 proof playing to the river finished up the weekend with a little fishing trip caught this nice smallie down by reds beach on a green bitsy tube pinch your barbs you might loose a few but its so nicer to release them without touching them or handling them river is still floatable we have some stretches that are 5 star right now keep floating changes coming soon to the hog heaven campground nearest you enjoy few pics Russ p.s. we love you james

the season is full on several hundred boats float by on saturdays fishing is full on if you cant catch fish here now YOU CANT CATCH FISH. they are biting on everything tie it on throw it out there oklahoma mike stayed at our campground this weekend he loved it also caught a big o bass right off the bank the flood created a awesome swimming and fishing hole right by our campground see pics we lowered our prices the BARACK OBAMA FLOAT STIMULUS PLAN get down here soon work = thumbs down floating fishing = thumbs up get out and paddle russ

it started on the elk river in kens jet boat out looking for bait when we got rocks stuck in the jet, we pulled over on a little island to get them out and there was a hot spot for bait we got some chubs and miinows loaded up the mothership 2 and headed for bella vista lake windsor when we got there they had a bass tournament going on so we went to lake avalon launched the boat and proceded to launch 60 jugs we ended up with 5 big cat and 59 jugs not bad in all actuality enjoy the pics keep floating Russ

you can put in just down from the darn in noel river left side turn by golf course and ball fields section doesnt get floated like the rest of the elk nice bluffs good fishing you can search this forum for a post i did when we floated that stretch its a long way i was glad i had a trolling motor i dont think you can just leave a car there get in touch with us for shuttle keep floating Russ

there was total carnage the falls campground is in real bad shape gracies cabins all were under water the water got close to our house and if you have been here you would be amazed here is a couple pics I could have launched my new pontoon right in the shed where we keep it i have heard of no injuries or fatalities thank the lord i heard of pontoon boats going over the darn down in noel i heard there was a full size bumper pull camper floating down the elk also a 500 gallon propane tank we will probably float this weekend to check out the carnage the one pic with kens jet boat is the entrance to gracies campground Hope everyone else made it ok god bless the people that lost a lot more in recent storms keep floating keep smiling no matter what happens russ

wow i dont think it gets any better crappie from texas (we caught 250+ in three days) we spent hours cleaning fish but that is ok here is the recipe fresh crappie seared in butter garlic and a fresh lemon and a splash of beer or add any seasonings you like slice cabbage in fine strips and add to pan put morels in last and keep on seperate side of pan cook until crappie and cabbage is done enjoy russ

we put in at the falls took out at riverside saw a eagle right when we got on the elk (from lilttle sugar) fishing was slow at first but got red hot as the sun was setting river is perfect need a little rain to give it a lift we caught them on tubes mostly little ones but two nice ones at the end enjoy couple pics keep floating russ

we have floated several times in the past few days river is low at hog heaven (still floatable just a little scraping) fish are biting wackys and tubes caught the nice 16 inch smallie on my favorite baby bass colored chug bug see pic we floated the lower section noel down to cowskin and that is a beautiful float see pics she and red both caught a white bass or hybrid? floating is awesome now get out and paddle soon keep floating russ
