this year "redfish" hooked a largemouth that was every bit of 6 pounds i was told by conservation that smallies that are 18 inches plus have been around a while and wont live much longer there are some monster large mouth down by reds beach but they know the game here are a couple of the biggins for your viewing pleasure keep floatin russ

hey there everyone i havent posted in a while been busy floating boats we have fished several times lately and done quite well so last night we launched at 7:15 pm at hog heaven headed to riverside our good friend walt is in town and he took reds pero me and jean ann in the general slocum temp was still warm moon came out about 3/4 full i caught a fish on the first cast with the wacky worm jean ann was fishing a new color worm "bull frog" (zoom) she caught at least 15 she also lost a few that we got to see close to the boat it was a good mix of smallies and largies with a occasional goggle eye i was showing her how to catch fish on the shallow side of the river watch carefully and have a rod and reel ready with a top water plug you will see fish moving in to get the shad and you throw right in on top of him and most of the time he will hit it i caught at least three quality fish that way last night i was using my 15 dollar Sammie we sat and caught fish at reds beach till 10:30 pm then paddled on down to the take out fishing at night this time of year is the only way to fly sorry phil my camera has some issue (dont we all) :D keep floatin Russ sorry forgot to talk about the river level is dropping we need rain water temp is up water clarity is real nice get out and paddle soon

we decided that we would all get kiddie poles and have a tournament so we all went and bought us a pole Red got the transformers Cal got the barbie I got the spongebob and lightning mcqueen so we put in at_______________ we took out at ______________ we caught them on __________ & ___________ & ____________ we caught over fifty fish we had the best time we have had all year cal caught the biggest of the day I laughed out loud when i saw that big ole smallie woopin cals butt with the barbie pole the pictures tell the story three old men laughing like little kids isnt that really what its about? too many people taking life way too seriously relax and enjoy it could be over tomorrow keep floatin russ

fish are biting everywhere last night we launched the bass boat down at river ranch and caught a bunch red caught mr big several largemouth several goggle eyes several smallie one crappie we caught them on tubes wacky worms and powerworms green colors work good power worm was tequila sunrise water temp at noel was 69-70 degrees see pics keep floating russ

we use cut shad and noodle jugs its fun to see you jug bobbing and swimming around like jaws keep floating russ

I havent fished bella vista lakes in some time so i decided to fish lake windsor i caught at least 15 bass on a wacky worm watermelon green with gold flakes and spiked the tail fished from 5:30 or so till dark when Kendal from Gracies campground showed up to do some jug lines We caught 3 catfish 1. was 18 pounds 2. was 25 pounds 3. was 53 pounds see couple pics of the two nicest bass keep floating Russ

red and i put in at lannagan at 5:20 pm headed for low water the bite was on we caught 40-50 bass most were small but a few decent in the mix water is clearing up and the temperature is on the rise caught a nice one on my baby bass colored chug bug i love me some chug bug had better luck with dark green tube than the grey one i started with red was fishing root beer colored what a great evening for fishing see pics keep floating russ

thanks guys for all it was a very nice trip i just looked at the chart and the tempature had dropped three degrees that day from rain i think that was the determining factor for not catching many fish cause i was there a day before the rain and the bite was on i dont remember going by that narly spot Glory daze did we take a different chute than they did? i remember telling you and your brother about the chute by indian summer campground just down river from the low water bridge on the right is that the same spot you are refering too i glad you didnt tip over i would have felt bad keep floating Russ

awesome report and thank you guys those lil boats are buffalo peros with the WackyWorm custom bass seat mounted in it they really are the perfect one man river/creek fishing boat the water is still moving pretty good so maybe getting out and fishing the from the bank will produce i can tell you quality fish are being caught all over redfish hooked mr big on tuesday and we both estimated 5.5 plus (sorry phil i left my camera at home again) i got reports from all creeks FISH ARE BITING hope you guys make it over again soon keep floatin russ

sorry to trash your thread with trashy pics but i guess i had to add glory daze, monster bass ken your pics are awesome that trip was a blast i think the lower section from turner down at a level of 2 or so is perfect for first timers i have been told the fishing is awesome we caught fish and we really didnt try that hard there is a lake down by the mulberry called shores lake the one pic is from the bluff maybe 300 feet up the other is the hand built dam and spillway see pics this lake is awesome keep floating russ

i posted a long time ago about burger bombs i tried to find it but had no luck any way here it is per pound of meat 1 egg 1 pound ground whatever any kind of cheese you like and as much as you like we have tried every cheese known to man keep floatin russ

we have floated almost every stretch around here this year river is flowing nice creeks are a little low but floatable we are seeing more and more fish everytime we get out fish were caught on thursday,friday and saturday of this week i think that is very positive sign of things to come water temps in the upper 40s low 50s always have some extra clothes if you get wet get your fishing license renewed dust off that rod and reel combo grab the kids or the dogs or whatever and get out there and enjoy nature in the early spring see pics check out the stripe on that fish red caught!!!!!!!!!!! never seen one that black and thick looks like someone painted it with a sharpie keep floating russ
