  1. bikehikefish, When you get to the river from cardiac, the big riffle that dumps into a faily good hole of water with a big backwater...you ever notice corn husks/corn stalks floating in the backwater?
  2. Stevan, Thanks for the post. As recent as early Oct, I noticed a guy in a red GMC or Chev 1/2 ton pick up, balding dark hair, heavy set, glasses. Parking and looking for "action" Saw him repeatedly at the MDC ramp below TR Dam, and at the senic overlook by the Dam. I went to this overlook one day to take some pictures, observed this guy get out of his truck, walk into the woods past me and started to pleasure himself. Guess I missed a chance to get this dude busted, or at least scare the heck out of him. Hoping if myself or anyone elese see's this dude again, we will follow your advise.
  3. Don't feel bad, a majority of the good people in our communities aren't aware of a lot of the foul things that go on with the morally challenged. I've learned a lot from some of the police and military dog handlers I've trained with over the past 20 plus years...
  4. Thanks Phil, I have noticed this going on myself. Both at the senic overlook by the Dam, and the boat ramp area. Sometimes the fruits will back in a parking spot and put a piece of FRUIT, on their dash, putting out the signal. Thanks for the post, we need to get rid of these.....!@#$%** umm people using our family oriented places for such disgusting behaivior. Maybe I will start bringing my German Shepherd with me for walks of the areas. Grinn
  5. Just for a heads up...In my opinion fishing cardiac this time of year is a waste of time. Too cold, gin clear water, no springs. I would stay between Maramec Springs and Dry Fork at the furthest. This time of year nature calls them upstream in more ways than one. My humble opinion. Bman
  6. Don't forget Lynn, Chucks wife at Anglers & Archery. She runs the shop mostly, and is VERY knowledgeable. An awesome fly tyer too. Also the fly shop at Lilleys!!!
  7. BOBTU... fishinwrench has just turned you on to some good stuff!!! Do it!!! Hope Dad & son make some life long memories!
  8. Rats, guess I'll miss this party. You gents should have the place to yourselves...good luck.
  9. Leonard strikes again, good job. Did you get a length & girth? Congrats to you both!
  10. Had my son Matt and his wife Tisha down at the park with me Sunday. Matt caught and released a 24 inch Rainbow female dopping eggs, poor female looked like she had escaped a close encounter with an eagle. Maybe the one I saw scoping out the fish Friday. Matt stayed with her till she was good for release. Note* I use nothing less than 5x to get these bigger fish in A.S.A.P. the big ones get stressed enough after one fight. You catch one on 7x...you are probably going to kill it. To me a real bad feeling. High light of the day was when I put my daughter in law on her first lunker. A handsome rainbow, not a mark on it(never been caught) 21 inches long X 12 inch girth. 21 x 12 x 12 / 800 = 3.78 Lbs
  11. Great report. Thanks for the details. It's always good when (management) has a good time too.
  12. Thanks, Those are trout with their Chin too close to their butt !!!
  13. Thanks, The crowd wasn't bad. But bad enough to have one person in all my fav spots... so I would do some walking, and looking till I found an opening.
  14. Fished C&R Fri. with a little rain, a lot of sprinkles. There's a few pigs in there, a LOT of chinass trout. It doesn't appear that they stocked the overall quality of fish I've seen in past years. The real thrill of the day was when I was looking up above the bridge in the no fishing zone. A HUGE Bald Eagle scoping out the trout below. Awesome. He spooked before I could get a pic. He was one of the biggest I've seen. I managed a few pigs, here's one I was able to get a pic of.
  15. Has anyone heard anything from the hatchery concerning Browns coming up the ladder?
  16. Phil, Has Clint, the hatchery manager mentioned anything about Browns coming up the ladder yet?
  17. WOW!!! Sounds promising, I've been using Sta-Bil and running fine. You mention at the top of your post you bought the new marine grade stabil, why are you buying both? Whats the difference in regular (red) stabil and the new marine stabil other than color? Thanks for the post. Bman

  19. I have a 2 year old 90 hp Yamaha 2 stroke. I run 87 octane gas with ethanol, from what ever gas station that is close. I ALWAYS add Stabil, and ring free every time I fill up. I have never had any problems.
  20. Thom, Thanks for the heads up. The Motorguide on my jet boat is a 54#. I knew about the prop nut. I checked the rope, and guess what. It is badly worn and soon to break. When I'm not at Taney, I run the local rivers in my jet boat. Things can get hairy real quick drifting between riffles, if you can't count on your troller. I agree with you on the foot pedal. I am not aware of any other issues. I plan to get a new boat next spring. Think I will look at the competition.
  21. Isn't the Smith amber lens called clearwater copper? I've been wanting to get a pair of those, but I need glasses now for reading and distance so I use progressive lenses. Does Smith do anything like that? Thanks
  22. DT, You are getting around these days. Maramec Springs Thur, and Bennett the next. Thanks for the report, and pics.
  23. Nice One!!!! Way to go...and a Brownie yet! oh, oh....what have I done...
  24. Welcome, looks like a happy young man there. Memories that will last a lifetime. Lilley's and Anglers & Archery are a couple of must stop by places when I visit Taney. I introduced my son to Taney, and look forward to doing the same with my grandkids soon.
