JS, you're probably right on the rally point. We can't even rally a few to show up for a court session in trying to replace or re-focus a "do nothing judge" in a city of 700, hate to think of that on a National & World level. It's the old law of physics......for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. You can almost verify the same law for society. If we just had Einstien back to guide them, Leonard and I are just to busy to do it! LOL LOL God Bless.....D.C. -
Not to worry Trav! He didn't get away, I got him. He was so scared and frustrated, said some big guy was chasing him with the ugliest lure he had ever seen and a '61 antique evinrude. Felt so sorry for him, I gave him a ride to the tailwaters. If you really want him, guess you'll just have to break down and leave lower Taney and go up stream where all the 'Long limber-sticks" are fannin the air. LOL LOL Man I bombed out on BS today above Beaver. was ready to call Crappie with one of his "short stringed tube baits". LOL

NO! IT DIDN'T FOR ME AND TWO OTHER BOATS! I went out from Beaver Creed launch and fished from there to Barker Hole and back. Trolling and casting, lipless, spinners, spoons, jigs, rogues, deep divers and bombers. All I did was eliminate a lot more of my stuff into the "things they DON'T like" category. About one more trip and I will have to buy new stuff to try. saw several others on the lake but no hook-ups. Couple fellows at the ramp said this is the worst they have seen it in about 2 years. The lake appears down about 10'-12'. Not much visible cover up that way and the inlets are mostly too shallow & small due to the lake level. I was watchings the patterns on my screen and the fish seem to be acting weird. Hard to describe as the lake depth and fish suspension depth were not uniform & normal. Maybe the lake is turning or something is pressuring and spooking them. Hope your luck is better than mine, but then I'm still a noobie to that area and Bull Shoals.

PHW - I agree with you on the politicians! Without getting into a political debate, it's just a matter of "whose ole yeller dog gets elected". As for the judicial, many judges are elected but just as many are appointed (part of the "good ole boys" concept sometimes. Most of the attnys. and advisors are appointed and often change with administrations....thus in line with political favors. I think it has been that way since self-appointment of Judge Roy Bean, LOL, we just hear about it faster and more widely now due to the media. Wish it were totaly electorate based on fact, law and truth! But I'm sure we both agree it's not but the best we got and subject to corrective actions. God Bless, Have a Good one..........D.C. -
Getting ready to flip the coin on whether to load my ultra lites and go to Fall Creek or load the casters and trollers and head to Beaver Creek. I'll know for sure......when I get back! LOL

AGAIN, There should be no need to point out politicians or parties and tie them opinionatively to the situation. If it is to start action or build support for intended action against a known repeat offender, then go for it and start the recall ball. Until then, lets focus on what we can do to search these guys out, repair the land, streams and air at present and ways to better inform the public of future appointments and candidates that are not highly environmentaly conscious with acceptable/practical plans of action. -

Dano, I agree 100% If you read what I posted, you will see I made no references to political party of either side. If Brian or any one else has an agenda to promote the "liberal" movement and circumvent the constitution, laws and will of the people for special intrest, I am totally against them and will state that to them or anyone else. It is a well known fact that these type of excentric liberals exist in both the Democrat and Republican party. My post clearly states that instead of wasting time and money to fight them in a biased court that allowed it, use the resources to recall and elect so that we are not fighting the same battle over & over while the problem continues with a new name. Hence, don't cut a tree a limb or leaf at a time....Take it out at the trunk and remove the root system. Sorry ofense was taken, but I did not classify "liberal" to a certain party. That title was assumed by the reader. If that is the stance and basis of the party in opposition to Gov. Blunt, then I can understand his misinterpratation. If I mean, "democrat" Trust me, I will clearly state that or "libitarian" or "republican". Sorry for any misunderstanding as I certainly do not want this to be or become a politacal football. I want to see it corrected for the sake of the environment and the bad guys removed regardless of who, what or where they are. God Bless.......D.C. -

Kool-aid!! Don't throw any more money into legal fighting of these things, put the money and time where it counts. So many well meaning people have been caught up in the liberals "side-tracking" and diversion tactic of arguing while they proceed it is unbeleivable. PUT THE MONEY INTO ELECTIONS AND RECALLS!! There are so many radical liberals who lied and cheated their way into offices of all levels riding on the kindness and non-combative nature of decent voters it is appaling. The time is NOW to get their butts out and silenced while we still have something left to reconstruct. Tomorrow will be too late. You can argue in court for years, RECALL and Ouster is imeadiate. Put the money to work on RECALL and OUSTER! That is the only answer. The liberal judges will let them tie it up in court until the things at risk are ruined permanantly and are no longer worth fighting for. -
Think I have to go with Trav on this one.....Serve them KOOL-AID FOR A 100 MI radius. All they can do with that type of situation is resurect Pendergas in KC,Mo. and build another Brush Creek with the little boats that give rides for the "sewer tour". Nope, we lost some to asphalt & progress. Got to really work hard to restore as good as we can and vigilance to protect what we have left.

Trout Unlimited Unveils Position On Warming
Daddy Carp replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Conservation Issues
My post did not mean that we could all wear space suits to bed, although there may come a day we should if the Global warms enough. It was to point out that if we turn our focus to dealing with the problem and how to make the best of it rather than squandering time & effort on whos politically most correct or right, we would be far better off in the future to come, be what it may! Rather than tie up space with pictures, I have enclosed a link to a site that explains my point well. People who have taken a positive approach to some very brutal conditions and created joy and beauty out of it for all to share. Please check it out, Wear a jacket, the temp is -45*f !! www.youtube.com/watch?v=qa9bNPMJlZI just copy this address & paste it in your browser. -
On this conservation forum, there have been many interesting points made through open discussion based on research, personal opinion and experiences and heart-felt ideas for improving our environment and lives. I myself was caught up in extended discussion of the credibility, agenda and resultant specifics of particular org. or groups. This is not all bad as it can give for a better understanding of the specific org. We should probably do the in-depth research and grilling on a different forum or medium if possible. I think that the main points presented here have been the organizations that are working towards the conservation goals, who, where and how. They may not all be doing everything proper but I’m sure that most will accomplish some positive progress towards helping the environment. The main thing we need to be sure of and monitor is that we have checks/balances in place that can prevent or halt any of these actions that become detrimental. RE: During all wars, the ENEMY even was allowed often to continue building a plant, airstrip or bridge while we secretly monitored. This was done to best use their manpower and resources rather than expend our own that were on other necessary projects. They were allowed to continue their project until it became a threat or detriment. We then would stop them and take over utilize what they had accomplished to the benefit of forwarding our goals. Not saying any of these orgs. Are the enemy, but you get the idea, should they prove or turn in a detrimental direction. The main thing is each is doing something in a positive manner. If not, then it’s time for curtailment and open ridicule. I hope we can continue getting new, fresh and original ideas on here. We are not even close to problem solving and all input and ideas towards solution and resolve I certainly welcome and appreciate. This will be another resolution for me this year, “I will try harder to stay on task”! Yes Phil, I know that’s # 3.999 for me, but I need them probably more than most! LOL God Bless & have a great day………….D.C.

1st off, let me admit that I am somewhat a "fair weather fisherman". Since the temps have been below 50* I have not been out. If we get that 60*-70* they are predicting, I may have a fish story to tell. I would like to share a copy of an email from a friend that very well points out the convienence and importance of PLANNING AHEAD for a more enjoyable life: ..... EMAIL: _____________________________________________________________ The local news station was interviewing an 80 year old lady because she had just gotten married again for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. 'He's a funeral director,' she answered. 'Interesting,' the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she'd first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, later on a preacher when in her 60's, and now in her 80's, a funeral director. The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers. She smiled and explained, 'I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ . As you can see, she did some planning ahead and made her time eventfull, enjoyable and well organized. This is why before we take an outing or vacation, we need to take a calm moment and think it out. The more time we plan to spend and the farther distance we travel, has much bearing on the amount and type of planning needed. If we are going to a days event within 15 min. of home, it's not that far back when we forget the salad. If we are going a 100 mi.+ for a couple days.....don't even forget the suitcase. . The longer the trip the more important it is to make a written list, well before hand, so that we can use it as a guide while packing and a check-off as we load. Should we forget a minor item that we feel we need, we can either buy one or do without. A major item is not so easy and can turn a good trip bad real fast....so, make that list. Several times I've discovered, upon arrival at the lake, I had left my new lure on the table at home. Thank the lord! I had the rod & reel on my list and with me and my tackle box. If you have the time, and it is not a busy season, searching an area for accomadations can be interesting and fun. However, if your time is budgeted as with most, You want to have as much time as possible to spend on your "prime interests". It is therefore recommended that you research: what is available, costs and offerings, then make reservations in advance. This will give you much more BASIS to work with in your planning. SET your interest-agenda - REASEARCH whats there and the costs - MAKE A "RUNNING LIST" of things you will need to pack and check these off as you load to leave - DON'T let minor items forgotten upset the day, most can be purchased or done without. Save them for next trip. LAST ---- just before you pull off the driveway, stop, for 2 min. clear calm silence, and think "did I secure the house (water, gas, electric, alarm, doors & windows locked)? This can be double-checked since you are still there. If you leave, unsure, it will worry and frustrate you the whole trip. Not a bad idea to shut off the water at the main valve or meter as I have seen many dishwashers, laundry hoses, icemakers and hotwater tanks malfunction or leak. They can do much damage in a short time. How much water can a 5/8" washer hose put out over a weeks vacation? Just a reminder of some things you probably know and may already do. God Bless and have a good time!

JS, Thanks for the response. It looks like you and I are pretty much of the same opinion as to what it takes to make an enjoyable fishing outing. It is possible there may be some variances caused by different generational concepts. You appear to be aprox. 30-40 yrs. This is a generation when competiveness became an important factor in almost any endeavor or undertaking. I think my generation was the responsible one for pushing that concept through preasure on our kids to be in all the sports and to be the best with no room for error. The Sat. back-lot-ball games were organized into "little leagues" and treated like it was "pro ball" with millions at stake. SORRY! That invironment created a possible subconcious preasure to always be the best, the winner and do what peers think & say. I think if you can learn to shut out the inner-feeling, that others are watching and judging all the time, you can better enjoy a day of 2 or 5 fish on Taney and call it a memory. The only one you have to compete with is yourself. The rest are so busy doing likewise or keeping track of everyone else, they won't even see what you're doing. No need to seclude for total enjoyment; Next time your on Taney and you start to feel like your "falling short" and we're watching to kibbits....Just hollar out real loud --- "darn it!! Trav, Carp, Caddis--keep your eyes on your own pole, I'm fishin my way with this one". Even if were not within hearing distance, you'll feel a whole lot better and the guy that had been crowding your area.....He'll give you plenty of room the rest of the day!! LOL Hey Pal, God Bless and have trophy catch.

Hey Crappie, you said you were in auto repair with the state? If so, do you do any marine mech. on your own? -
Welcome to my humble blog site where I hope, in the near future, to present, display and discuss many things of interest to not only fishermen and fisherladies, but to all sportspersons and those who are just seeking enjoyable informations. I will post current fishing items, news, conditions and concerns from several lake areas in Southern Mo. I hope to be able to present a little humor from time to time and some "tales from the past". I first started fishing at age 2yrs. and have fished every opportunity since. So that would give me about............39yrs.+ experience. (just to keep the "Big Guy in heaven" happy, that's really 61yrs. experience) lol. I have a lot of tales I can tell if I can remember them (you know what they say about us older folks and memory). Well, I hope that on your next visit I will have something of more interest for you to peruse and enjoy. Till then, God Bless.........D.C.

Trout Unlimited Unveils Position On Warming
Daddy Carp replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Conservation Issues
Hey JS, nice post! I think a lot of the forest fires are due alot to "over control and preservation" by the Dept of Interior. There is so much dense growth, it kills out at the bottom causing a fuel supply. If the naturally spawned fires were allowed to burn out, they would clean this out naturally. As it is we are "pack-rats" and want to save and horde everything. Not to mention "control freaks" who want to dictate use and control of everything, even Mother Nature, based on our personal feelings. Problem, Mother Nature disagrees and will take a few more Calif. mansions in the future until we "Get-it". The best way to Handle the Global Warming issue is to limit all Political campaign funde to $5,000 national, $2,000 state and $1,000 local. Place ads or personal appearances to tell who you are, what you're about, your qualifications. Most politicans I've ever met can honestly do this in 10 words or less. This takes the money rewarding for opinion or searches to justify a political opinion. Hence all that money could be put to finding the best way to clean up our air and invironment and continuing a comfortable productive existance in a warmer global atmosphere. It is happening, has been as you said since the "Ice age" how warm it will get, who knows. We have designed suits and craft to withstand the heat of space & reintry, shouldn,t be a problem. BUT, first we have to take the money factor out of it then people will stop beating their gums and drums as to whose old yellow dog pissed farther! Keep it going JS you're on the right road! God Bless.....D.C. And Ya! I saw Crappie last night too, he woke me up. Better be a crappie feed soon in the makin for the guys after all that noise he put out with his "fish sticks"! -

I sent an email to a penpal of mine and told him of the lovely Christmas day fishing trip here at 58* temp. I'll share a copy of his reply. It sure looks like global warming, wow! that's hot for January 1.:........... ------------------------------------------------------------ Wow, that's a nice Summer in Winter. We were in 45.3deg C on New Year's Eve, that is, 113.5deg F!!! Happy New Year 2008... enjoy... Cheers, Will . -
Hey, I don't hold it against you "old guys" you didn't even make a dent in them. Now the factories with chemical polutants, the agies with chemical run off, the land developers in removing natural filters and the Gov. for managing the raising/lowering of lake & river levels that kill off millions of spawn each year......different story! Them I will not forgive! Happy New Year to all!

Here is some info I picked up while browsing and thought I'ld pass it along for all you ole river-rats & trot-liners like me. IGFA recognizes new world record blue cat:.......................... DANIA BEACH, Fla. --- The International Game Fish Association (IGFA), the organization which among its many duties maintains world records for both freshwater and saltwater game fishes, has approved a 124 pound blue catfish caught in mid May by Tim Pruitt of Alton, Ill. Pruitt and the catfish, which was caught in the Mississippi River, received a great deal of media attention throughout the nation and internationally as well. Using cut herring for bait, Pruitt took 40 minutes to land the catfish. Efforts were made to keep it alive for a new home in a glass tank for public display but it died several days later. According to June newspaper reports, Pruitt hoped to have it mounted and put on loan to the nearby National Great Rivers Museum in East Alton, Ill.

Are we going too far, too fast and falling off the edge before we can stop? Remember the days of the of the “muscle” cars when it was nothing to crank a 327 cu. To put out 600 hp. Just to brag bigger, better, faster getting to the next stoplight – The day when a triumph cycle was 650 cc & guaranteed to do 160 mph but we had to have a café racer @ 1600cc or a V-6, 2200 cc and no place or guts to open it up all the way – a bass boat that won tournaments with a 60 hp to 80hp engine, and could troll all day without hurting it, was replaced by the “gotta have to win” motors of 275 hp to 300 hp motors that will burn out & carbon up in 1 days trolling. – the 40 hp pontoons with plenty of speed for the family which now need 150 hp to “be in the in-group” or the 75 hp bow riders on Lake of the Ozarks now replaced by million hp “cigar” boats as a status symbol that have ruined the lake use for the average boater. This is a result, I think, of drilled in competitiveness, over the years, creating a feeling that “mine has to be bigger, faster and newer that the rest. In other words, a spoiled society of humans who already have the natural traits of greed, selfishness, power control and vanity. The strength of these traits will vary with each individual but are still there. In our ploys to want more fish and bigger fish in the pool than we had before, is I think a lazyness or greed factor we are applying with the rules, limits and regs. What is wrong with having to work , as before, to catch a 10 – 15 lb fish and doing so maybe every so often. Now, a lot of anglers feel cheated out of their entitlement or “fair share” if they do not get a trophy on every other cast. Fun to fight, yep, but not unique, special or “badge of success” at that rate. I am 100% for protecting a species or fishery, within reason, and realize also that species will change and some disappear due to evolutionary process. Before we create problems the controlling of slots, lengths, possession, etc. primarily for the sake of “bigger & more”. We need to stop & think hard about: Fuel/atmosphere problems, reduced use from over-sizing of equipments, decline of other sharing species, creating a monster that will never be satisfied until it consumes its caretaker. I keep hearing “ more trophy size, bring this species to me so I don’t have to travel to them, don’t let that group catch them- save them for me”. Any time we vote or recommend a rule or regulation, we need to consider our true reasoning and the possible consequences as far into the future as we can imagine (what ifs). Just a little food for thought, no implied right or wrong, just some facts that have put us in some situations we now have to deal with or clean up today from yesterdays party! God Bless………D.C

"I feel like I should give credit to the organization that has made it possible for me to be financially free and has given me hope that I can become wealthy enough to change the destiny of my kids and their kids." Just a question for personal clarification. Is TEAM structured similar to a "sales pyramid" like water filters, vacume cleaners, etc. or one of the "How to make $1 million a year in real estate investment" programs? Just wondering as you are using many of the Dale Carnige verbal presentations.
