  1. Leonard, It was sure nice to meet you, and get a little help in learning a little something about this great fishery we have at our disposal. Once again thank you for taking the time to help out, and for showing me a new way to approach these fish. Chris
  2. Here, love this site, thanks Phil for all you do to keep it up. Ever lurking Chris
  3. can anyone advise as to where the o2 reading is taken, is it at the dam or is it downstream somewhere. seems to me that all the water churning coming over the flood gates would put a lot of o2 in the water.
  4. Tim, went to tie some of those mini buggers and have had a hard time coming up with hackle that is small enough to tie those 14 or 16's. That happens to be one of my favorite fly's and thought you might be able to tell me what to look for. thanks Chris
  5. I a had a custom rod built by Dale Griest from Nixa, I know he will build them in about any price range and will give you many options. I personally work with him and know from experience what a perfectionist he is. If you are interested, let me know and I can get you in touch with him.
  6. Tim, thanks for the update on the river. hope you don't get too much rain the next couple of days, I am planning on bringing the little guy down for kids day at the park. Keep us informed and hope to see you next weekend. Is there a specific place in the park the kids fish for this event, or is it the whole park? Thanks Chris
  7. we are trying to plan a trip to float the buffalo, by the way we are not experienced floaters and have a 6 year old, and are trying to figure out what would be a good section of the river to float and if it would be possible to stay maybe in the Mtn Home area and drive to the river the morning of the float. I am hoping to make this trip serve double duty by maybe getting to fish on the north fork or the white the day before or the day after the float. The wife says that a small cabin or some place like lilly's would be just fine, as long as it has a pool to entertain the 6 yr old with the day I get to fish. I know there are many possible places listed on the internet, however I would like some recomendations from personal experience. If the drive from Mtn Home is to far could someone please give me some ideas of where to float and where to stay just anywhere along the river, we are willing to try any portion of the river that is not too advanced for our skill level. Thanks in advance for all your help, Chris
  8. Tim, Thank you for the info, I had an idea that you might know where it was if anyone would. thanks again chris
  9. Hi All, The wife keeps asking me about a seafood buffet on friday night in the crane area. I keep telling her I don't know anything about one but with all the people on this board if it exists (sp) someone will be able to direct us to it. So, if anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks Chris
  10. Bman, Beware of where you decide to buy from when buying online. There are a lot of shady dealers out there and you may not get exactly what you think you ordered. Keep in mind that if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. I have had good luck with B & H photo and video, and I used to order from Cameraworld Of Oregon but last I knew they got bought by Ritz photo and that is when I started using B & H. Good luck and be careful. Chris
  11. A big thanks to Steve and Bob for the breakfast, and it was nice to finally put some faces with names. Hope to see you all around real soon. Happy fishing Chris
  12. Steve, I'm new to fly fishing, but a veteran to the river, I grew up there and fished c & r years ago but this will be my first time with a fly rod. I am planning on being there for breakfast and getting to know some of the guys from the boards. Chris
