Doc I'm gonna try that tomorrow Using my graph to find fish then drop shot. But I have never ever tried drop shot. So I really have no idea what I'm doing I've watched so e YouTube videos to try and get the general idea so I guess we'll see. Again. To knowing the lake at all makes it hard to even know where to start looking. I'm guessing points near deep water so that's my focus tomorrow. That and docks in deeper water. I'm also gonna plan on throwing tons of deep cranks as well. Last ditch efforts are gonna be deep jigs
  2. I agree. As someone new to this lake completely. This forum really helps me try to figure this already tough lake out Any help I can get goes a loooong way.

Yeah I agree need more reports good or bad. I'm new to the forum having just got my boat last month but I try to post something as small is it might be. I'm new to the area and new to beaver so I literally have zero knowledge of this lake I'll be out for the next couple days So I'll let ya know what I find or don't lol
  4. I'm gonna spend all day Monday and Tuesday on the water. Probably gonna fish hickory creek up to horseshoe area. If you get out Ryan let me know. We could meet up
  5. Be safe out there. Hot weekend. Gonna be tons of boats everybody goin one last time before school and all that starts up. I'm stayin home but gonna spend all day Monday on the water. Anyone else goin out next week ??
  6. Yeah that's kinda my plan. I need lots of practice on the drop shot. Don't mind fishing deep if I can crank some. Gonna try some big worms maybe jig some too. I definitely plan on spending all day Monday on the water though.
  7. I know right !! Those storms just popped up. I didn't have any lightning where I was just hard rain couldn't believe not getti. Anything on the spinner during the rain. I may try that next time I get out. Gonna try and spend the day Monday on the water I really wanna focus on deeper docks during the day and see if that does anything. Flipping around
  8. Well so much for storms ahead of schedule. Got caught on the water for this evenings storms. No docks to be found so I just fished through it lol. Really thought I might get a spinner bite but nothing !! Caught 3 short bass and a couple blue gill. Let me as you guys this question. Anybody catch a lot of small bluegill on crankbaits ?? I've caught 4-5 lately on crankbaits as big as they are almost. Does this mean anything ? Should I change colors. If there are bluegill around should I change locations ?? Or are they a good sign?
  9. Yeah. Radar looks clean now after the rain. I'm hopin to get a good shallow bite tonight in the bushes after this rain. Maybe a spinnerbait kinda night.
  10. Really wish I could have made it out tonight. I plan on going tomorrow evening prob 6-10ish. If the rain holds off.
  11. Caught 4 shorts Saturday evening fishing dirtier water on small cranks. Water temps were down around 91. So these cool evenings have helped a bit. Think I'm gonna head out tomorrow evening and gonna focus on dragging some worms I think. Still trying to learn the lake. So I just kinda pull up to a long run out to a point and fish the whole thing rather than running all over the place probably not fishing the right areas but just dissecting areas and spending time watching the graph right now. Good luck be safe
  12. Went out last night from hickory creek. Fished from 6-9 or so. Had no luck. Tried everything from deep cranks spinnerbaits poppers worms notta ! Water temps 94-95. Hope this front wakes em up
  13. Thanks for the advice guys. I live in Springdale. Just down from hickory creek so that's my home base if you will I don't know a thing about this lake. And with the high water it makes it even tougher trying to figure out where the structure is. I'm new to the high tech graphs as well. The last boat I had a lowrance x85 was top notch if that tells ya anything. On this one I have a helix 5 si/di kvd at the wheel and a lowrance elite 7hdi on the troll. So I've been trying to learn how to use these better to find fish and narrow my search but I feel very poor at distinguishing what I'm lookin at. Fished tonight out o hickory. Finding water temps around 91-93. Had a few bites on top water right at dark but missed both but that's all the action I could muster Not sure when I'll get out again. Hope you guys have better luck. Be safe
  14. Hey guys, new poster here as well. I'm new to the area and to beaver. But I agree and second everyone's thoughts right now, horrible conditions too many big boats too hot to try and mess with it lol. I'm a fire fighter locally and plan in fishing quite a bit on my days off. I've only been out a handful if times and haven't had any luck. I do t really know the patterns on thus lake in general, much less with flooding and tempos messing everything up lol. Was gonna try and figure out how to drop shot hoping that might trick a few or throw some deep crankbaits. I'll keep talking posted. Thanks BC
  15. Thanks...i hate to get rid of it..but im building a house..and just not using it enough to have it sit around and collect dust..

  22. For me its hard to say...i would have to think its slowed it some...but im not out every weekend enough to compare it...i just dont see how it couldnt be a lil less then years past..but as some people say..if they can afford a 50K boat..then they can prob afford to put gas in it...i really didnt think there were an obscene amount of boats out on sunday..but thats sunday too...not saturday..
  23. Guys...thanks for the replies and for shedding some light on the life jacket issue...as far as the skiers and wake boarders..all that...i have no problem with them at all..i have a lot of friends that go out 3-4 days a week and play around...WhackEm..i am out on TR about every two weeks or so..if not more...and i have fished on weekends...weekdays...holidays..you name it..but had until sunday never had as much problem with other boats...i usually fish out of Cape Fair..but with the parking issue there...i went to Aunts.....i was just amazed at the number of people ..a lot...compared to the number of boats...not that many considering the holiday.....that were just idiots...the lack of respect was almost sickening...i by no means feel we as fishermen should have and more right or space then anyone else..just seems we have a little more respect for others then some of the pleasure boaters do...
  24. Went down to Aunts Creek sunday....thought i would get out when most of the folks would be heading home. Launched with no problem to my suprise..i figured the ramp would be packed and a total mess..but wasnt too bad...heading out to the main lake with a boat off to my left comming at me with a tube..as im running up the right side...for those who know Aunts Creek there are 3-4 docks on the right side...so he gets about 40 yards from me and proceeds to turn my direction and pull a U-ie..completley oblivious to me or anyone else..so i have to basically shut down to not ramp off his wake now...so i get by him finally still maybe 30 yards from the docks as i approach another craft pulling a tube...a lil kid...and again without any consideration the joker begins to almost merge to the right...and i have no where to go except into the docks or shut down...by the time he looks over all stunned...he throws his hands up like "what the hell"...so i throw mine back...and motion for him to get over...i mean...come on...like what did he want me to do......so my day is already off to a rough start cuz now im pissed at every boat out there..so on my way back 5-6 hours later another tube pulling boat is comming from my left...and pulls ahead of me to the right a lil... no big deal..im in no hurry...so he begins to slow..and i move over to my left to allow more room...and this idiot pulls a sharp left RIGHT in front of me..maybe 15 yards...with a freakin lil kid on a tube behind him...so i shut it down..and this clown has no clue that he just about put his kid under my boat..i mean if i had looked away for a sec..it would have been too late...so i stand up..and put my hands up...and they just wave !!!!!....i mean what a day filled with idiots..all this and not to mention the 5-6 boats that came with in 15-20 yards of me while i was fishing..with no consideration at all for their wake ....i have never really had a problem with skiers and all that..but man did this one day make up for all the days that had been good.... The big question i have is...it not a law that you must have a life jacket on while on plane...my unlce is Kelly Power and for those of you who know about the accident he and Mike McClelland had where if Kelly had not had a jacket on..would prob not be with us...i wear that thing no matter how far im going..but you see EVERY ski boat out there..and not a single person has one on...i thought it was a law..could someone clarify this with me... thanks for the avenue to vent a lil felllas...as far as a report goes..only fished a few hours there in the heat of the day..had one KY...on a Yamamoto Flappin Hog...which is a KILLER bait right now...so be good and stay safe out there ...
  25. Just curious what water temps everyone is seein around the Cape...when i got on the water and wet a line..again, around the Buzzard area..water was at 66 or so...by 5pm and at the Bears Den area...water was 71 or so...now with a full week of 70-80 temps..i wonder how quick its gonna jump...ima try and get out sometime next week so we'll see...
