  1. Another design by Jeff of Kudzu Craft.. http://www.kudzucraft.com/designs/stonefly/buildling-stonefly.php I have the forms done and 4 are secured to the strong back.. Will be building it with some club members (Indian Council Of Many Nations) ...it will be raffled off at our 50th year anniversary, starting at our winter powwow in Feb. clear through.. to, and ending with our summer powwow in Aug.
  2. Pics...it weighs 18lbs at this stage...
  3. About ready to lash the frames and stringers together...
  4. working on cutting stringers to fit the bow.. Clamped a pc. of 1/2'' stock between the top and keel stringers as a saw guide..
  5. More progress pics.. The stern...
  6. Got one.... hooked up to the shapers and sander,s
  7. Well I'm hooked on this guys designs.... http://www.kudzucraft.com/index.php The boat... http://kudzucraft.com/designs/curlew/index.php I got the frames cut....
  8. Went out Sun. afternoon with one of my kayaks paddled up the main feeder creek. The water level is down at least a foot so the deep hole at the end was locked in...Caught 3 nice cat and would of had 4...all around 20'' long..on grass hopers...I released them back into the main channel..
  9. still for sale...
  10. I don't know but this Oct. sure has been a prime time float month for temp. wise....to bad I couldn't get away fron the city.....But being in Springfield you are in the middle of it all...
  11. A good looking boat with a lot of time and care in the buid.... But you can't carry it over you're shoulder like my 32lb. 15X28.... What kind of finish did you put on the bottom? I use graphite mixed with epoxy ..works great to keep gravel from gouging into the wood...
  12. Race results The 6 man team finished 10-12-11 39hrs. 24 min. A mens tandem finished 10-12-11 38 hrs. 12 min. A womens tandem finished 10-13-11 44 hrs. 36 min. Mens solo 10-13-11 43 hrs. 6 min.
  13. Not me..I'll take a lazy Clear Ozark Stream float any day over the big muddy.,. And here is pic. from another source... check out the 6 man boat..and the guy on the paddle board.... Besides here are the rules... man-oh-man... Participants are allowed exactly 88 hours to complete the course. There are nine checkpoints along the route where paddlers are required to sign in and sign out. Cutoff times will be associated with these checkpoints based on the 88 hour pace. Failure to miss two consecutive deadlines is grounds for disqualification. To finish this race in 88 hours is a huge accomplishment. Only 2/3 of the teams were able to do that last year.
  14. Pics. from the start.....
  15. Took the boat out to get it wet for the first time....Oh boy..does this boat kick -----It tracks ,turns....and "stable" I can stand up in it, and stand, cast fish and stand..this boat is assume..I weighed it again today and it came out at 45 or so lbs... Look at that rocker..it turns on a dime.. The closed cell foam pads are great for sound + nice to stand and fish on.. My 4 remaining kayaks This boat is on the right and the one to it's left is my avatar..they are the same length. The hulls of my fleet...
  16. You could build you're own for $300-$400...depending on type of wood...
  17. After that dried.. flipped it back over this morning and sprayed a couple of coats of spar varnish on the deck..
  18. Flipped the boat over to add fill coats of epoxy and a coat of graphite...I stood on a bath scale and weighed the boat..it's 40lbs..I was surprised..
  19. Looks good Dave...What plan is it? That is determination to build one in the house, and a stripper does take craftsmanship. It is getting the epoxy to a smooth finish that I find a lot of work also..
  20. I was amazed at the strength.... http://kudzucraft.kudzupatch.com/video/toughboat.php As for my wood boats they can take a beating and are way easier to repair than one would think...
  21. Got the deck on today...
  22. What's wrong Cricket don't like kayaks???? It is a nice boat...
