  1. There are boats of this type available at the Bass Pro Shop outlet store. Last time by there, 2 were sitting near the front door. Seems like I also saw one at Surplus City on W. Sunshine in Springfield recently. Good luck!
  2. Cooper Creek ramp, lot, & facilities are excellent. It is a chilly run though from the ramp to the dam in the winter. Actually seems warm once you stop!!! ha
  3. A little bit fishy...like a puddle duck.
  4. My son and I did well with gold 1/6 oz. Little Cleo's last Sunday afternoon.
  5. That's the way it is with fishing... some days are diamonds...some days are stones. We've all been there. That one fly is the killer on one trip so you go home and tie a bunch of them. Then...you rarely catch another fish on it. Keeps it interesting & the fishing shops in business. I take all the reports...good and bad...and use them to get the best overall picture. Then if the BIG GUY smiles on me...I catch a few. When I don't...I figure it's me...so I make "just one mo' cast!"
  6. When you throw a combo sj worm & scud...is the sj worm the lead fly?
  7. For the record..... Jeremy, you and I don't have a problem as far as I'm concerned. I wish you tight lines thru good days and bad. If I see you on the water....I'll share my root beer with you. Friends?
  8. Jeremy, I don't have a personal problem with you. You insinuated that no one else was being honest in their reports but you. I don't happen to agree. I told you I usually liked your reports, and for your information, I utilize your web site often as I feel it's worth the look. For most people, they can still fish Taneycomo and have a fun day.
  9. Never fished the Rock at all. Love to catch a mess of bullgills. Just drown some crickets in the coves do it?
  10. I guess since Jeremy is the only one being honest, the rest of us can just go hang ourselves. (Give me a break.) Once or twice a month hardly makes a person the definative report-giver. I enjoy most of your reports but this one was a little bit "pompous". I report on this forum regularly and I am nothing but honest in my reports. To the best of my knowledge, others are as well. Lately, fishing for me and those I've been with has been good. Some days, it has been fantastic with some beautiful fish brought to boat. In the last month, two people in my boat have caught their all-time biggest fish. An exception was this past Sunday afternoon. Water was off but the wind was gusting... Poor conditions for what I like to do. We still managed to catch quite a few fish in the slot area above Fall Creek. And had a wonderful time doing it. So based on this past weekend, fishing wasn't what I'd hoped. But based on the past couple of months, it's been great for me & mine. Fishing, regardless of what you hope, is sometimes not so good... sometimes it's real good... and sometimes.....it's even better than that! If you can't catch a huge fish every time you go....then, might I suggest golf?
  11. It used to be that the Outdoors Section was my favorite and I looked forward to it every Thursday. Now, as my Grandpa used to say, "It's pert near worthless!" Although it's always good to read about the exploits of "Phillip" Lilley. Ha-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (My apologies for making joke of your pain, Phil. But, what are friends for?)
  12. This sounds better than other methods I've heard but what kind of plastic ties? Zip ties wouldnt break.
  13. If you use drag chains, make sure you can swim....good!
  14. We didn't see any dead trout the other day either and were quick to revive and release what we caught. Reminder to all: You cannoy just flip these fish over the edge back into the water. If they are upside down, they ain't gonna make it. Hold them right-side up, let them breathe a little, and they'll swim right out of your hand. It's easy!!! Just takes a small amount of effort.
  15. 2 units all day, tailwater level at 704....3 feet high. Ahhhh man, beautiful. I know, Phil asking me "where".....a red letter day for sure!
  16. Jigs......A little of "all of the above". Did best out from bluff bank in deepest water just before it slopes up. Cleos....as tight to bluff bank as we could throw them.
  17. Went to Taney to get a little fishing in before the Mizzou-Texas game. (Should have stayed fishing) Some "event" was going on at Lookout Island as drift boats seemed to be shuttling a group of women to that spot to fish. Sure was a bunch of them. And they were LOUD!!! Anyway, late in the afternoon, several of the boats headed downstream without passengers. Maybe the squid got a few of them. (heh-heh) Anyway, we stayed well below that circus. Mostly drifted below Lookout to a good distance above Fall Creek. Did well throwing 1/8 oz olive jigs and casting 1/4 oz cleos. Here is a 17 1/2 inch fish my friend Keith from Columbia caught. Didn't notice any of the problems others have spoken of. Water was very cloudy which might have actually helped. But water temps were in low 60's....bad! Bite was consistent for us.
  18. Just talk to Chuck. I'm sure he'd be happy to mail you all you need.
  19. You didn't say whether you were spin or fly-fishing fo them. Either way, take the ibuprofen for your casting elbow BEFORE going. Rots o' Ruck!
  20. Most of the browns I've caught over the years have had some reddish-orange spots on them. I notice lately, that alot of them don't. Doesn't appear that this one did either. Are there different strains being stocked?
  21. Not very. Just get a small float and attach a 1/8 oz jig to it and HEAVE HOOOOOOOO. (Not really. Just cracking myself up) Use as small a float as possible that will float your jig. You want it to react if a trout even breathes on it. Good luck!
  22. Phil knows what he's talking about. I was in the same boat as you. It took me 3 trips out and suddenly I "got it". Nothing will take the place of time on the water. And it's true....hits come 90% on the fall!
  23. Thanks....I'm just trying to keep up with you. I think one of those evenings, we were the only boats up there. I run the grey Lund with Honda tiller. One of these days, I'll pull over & formally introduce myself; maybe when you're not involved with a BIG fish. If THAT ever happens........ Until then....tight lines!
  24. I'll let Leonard explain his PMS...you're right on the money with the jig.
  25. Was at Bennett Springs a week ago..... caught one here and there; nothing fantastic. Then I found the ticket.....& did very well with dark brown scuds, size 16, between the Falls and the big bridge. They were unweighted, fished under an indicator with one small splitshot 8 inches above the fly. About 6 feet deep. Good luck.
