  1. It will be tough. If it were me. I would throw an a rig. Best choice right now
  2. Storm suspend strips. they also make suspend dots. I have used and they are nice, but one problem I have with them is that the bait has to be dry to apply them. so that comes into play when you are trying to adjust the bait while on the water. If the bait is wet when you stick them on, they will normally fall off. I have found that using the thin lead wire and wrapping it around the front hook shank work better. It is very easy to adjust on the water and doesn't screw with the action of the bait.
  3. Ok guys. Sorry for my misunderstanding. I did find out though that lakemaster will indeed release a new chip in 2014 that includes a high definition map of loz that they scanned themselves. Their maps are great I am sure t will be a very good map.
  4. HD is for High Definition. Oldplug Navionics and Lakemaster dont just sell chips of 1930s maps. they have been mapped much more recent than that. Heck the Fishing Hot spots map book is more updated than that. As far as I know there is not a "new and improved" LOZ map. the best most current one that I know of is the one that is most currently available on both the Navionics and Lakemaster chips. I do know Lakemaster does all of their charting so it is not just a reproduction. I know a couple guys that represent Humminbird and Lakemaster, I will send them a message to find a difinitive answer.
  5. I am also a big fan of the site. living an hour and a half away from the lake and 3 kids I don't have the luxury of getting on the water multiple times a week. It is great to keep informed about what is going on with the fish. I also find the monthly videos to be very useful and you can get a ton of information from the local sticks about the typical seasonal patterns and such that can be very useful to find a starting point to finding fish whatever time of the year you are fishing. There is no such thing as "telling secrets". you cannot fish another guys pattern IMO. Very informative though to all bass fishermen that fish LOZ. I have met and talked to Bob personally and can tell you he very passionate about the site and about fishing LOZ and providing good info the best way he can. Great guy to talk with.
  6. It doesn't necessarily suck, but it isn't any better than anything else out there like Navionics. Lakemaster does have some lakes in HD which are really nice, just LOZ is not one of them. I have the chip and use it and I also have the Navionics. both have their pros and cons. I would really like an HD map of LOZ though. Pomme is in HD
  7. I'm with you. First time in years I haven't entered. But love the tourney. Good luck
  8. That is crazy stuff right there.
  9. I am coming from Rolla so the Pittsburg side is more ideal.
  10. Got our rv now looking at places to put it on pomme next year. Trying to decide between Whitesides Hidden acres or the Harbor campground. Any advice or opinions?
  11. It is not yellow. It has blueish vinyl siding with a large covered deck and a chainlink fence. They sad it was on the end. Looks nice but I am not sure it is gonna work out. We have 3 kids and were looking for something with bunks. This model h as had the bunk room removed to give them a larger living room. Also nada value is far below asking price so financing would be tough
  12. Not too worried about the trailer, but any info on the park? Nice place? haven't had a chance to see it in person, only going off their website. looks really nice. I know the owner is the one that opened that new restaurant Hoboes or something?
  13. May look at a park model trailer there. It is located on 64B my the Pitts. state park. Any info on the park?

  15. Here's my take. TR - less traffic and a beautiful lake/area. Have to be able to fish deep to be successful all year. and by deep it could mean like 80ft of water. Can't live on lakefront, docks are valuable. LOZ--waaaay too busy BUT. where else does it take 20lb sacks to win a tourney all year round consistently? one of the best bass fisheries in the country but very busy. Great crappie and catfishing too. can live on the lake. dock may be easier to come by. probably have more developed communities etc. closer by. going to be expensive to get a desireable place there. fishing Deep means 30-40ft not 80. either way, you are in a win win. I envy you even having this as a "problem"
  16. Might call DJs in Bolivar they may be able to help.
  17. Bunks are pretty much a must for us with 3 kids. thanks.
  18. In August look for shad. If you find shad in a cove fish tje nearby docks. You can have a lot of fun fishing a fluke down the docks and off the corners. Imo your bigger fish will still be offshore and in the brush where tje big worm and football jig are king.
  19. Sure dutch if you don't mind. Looking for a 2000 or newer with a slide and bunks for the kids. Thanks.
  20. Wondering if anyone uses the campgrounds or rv parks and knows any info on any for sale? We live 2hrs away or we would road trip ourselves.
  21. Guys Jack is a standup guy and a great guide. I got to go out with Jack the end of this past June. He was very helpful, very nice, easy to fish with, willing to share some of his "secrets" and we even had a pretty good day....lol. Actually we had the best day I ever had on LOZ and I fish it quite often. He helped me learn and have confidence in a new technique and our best 5 bass between us went about 26 or 27 lbs!!! This was during the day at the end of June. It was about 95 that day if I recall. And to top it off, he caught a catfish and asked if I wanted to keep it. I said, "I would but I don't want to clean it...hahaha" he says, "no problem, I will clean it for you" and he did! can't beat that. Don't beat him up here for a post unless you know him and have fished with him. I would recommend Jack.
  22. Man thats scary. I would consider myself blessed if I am able to fish like that when I get that age.....Just go get em in the daylight!!
  23. I too grww up in minnesota where I trout fished avidly. Lived in se mn and loved walking streams and hunting trout. Moved to MO about 10 years ago and was excited to hear they jad teout dishing........until I saw what thwy called "trout fishing". Needless to say I am an avid bass fisheman now. I was just spoiled and took the trout fishing up north for granted. Have thought about trying to get back into it and just avoiding the parks.
  24. thanks for sharing Jim.
  25. Ahh very nice. And versatile. I like it
