  1. Oscar at www.Oscarbassbaits.com out of Steelville MO. Great work.
  2. We hear about it in tons of articles etc. but what is your definintion of a "FLAT" coming from MN the River may have a different definintion than where I am now in MO with the Reservoirs. I also would love to see pictures of maps if you could.......BTW I know what I consider a flat, but reading articles got me thinking. What depth do you look for in a flat? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. the weekend of the 2nd we had 55degree water near Bolivar Landing, but it was muddy. Up the river the water clears up again on the back side of the muddy water but it was colder.....Hopefully the lake straightens out by my next tourney in mid May.
  4. Hey Kevin, I was the guy talking to you on the way to our trucks in the parking lot. Sounds like we had the same ideas, we just didn't decide to hit the clearer water until it was too late. Around Bolivar Landing we had 55 degree water so I wasted some time thinking there should be some more active fish there, but failed to produce any. By the time we started throwing jerkbaits there was only about an hour or so of fishing left for us.
  5. Just fished a tourney this past weekend on Pomme. The high water sure made it tough. There were 2 approaches......go up the rivers and flip jigs or stay close to dam and throw jerkbaits. We went out Friday and stayed by the dam with jerkbaits and did not do well so we decided for the tourney to go way up the the river and got excited by the clear water behind all the dirty water. However it was colder water temp and did not produce. I only caught 2 fish and one was a short. There were a lot of 1 and 2 fish bags weighed in. Not positive but I think only 2 limits were weighed. very tough....the jerkbait bite seemed to be the ticket but only later in the day after it warmed a bunch. Big bass was a 6lber, but that was the only larger size fish caught.
  6. Thanks for the report. I will be fishing this weekend and the weather should be better, but I am not counting on the fishing being great. Any other help you can give me would be great.
  7. First, I am not fishing it, but once the schedule is set I think it should be stuck with at all costs and only changed if absolutely necessary......tournament fishing is all about being able to adjust to the conditions......
  8. thanks Trav. gonna be there for a tourney on the 2nd. Conditions are making it look like it could be a tough tourney.
  9. sorry to hear that man....that sucks.....you know what they say, there are 2 types of outboards....blown ones and those that are about to.
  10. I you find any clean water I would throw a jerkbait, bone, clown colors are good. flashy colors if the water is a little dirty. If all the water is stained to very stained as you say, I would throw a jig probably all day. if a low pressure system and bluebird skies arrives, I would flip the jig close to any cover I could find near spawning areas.
  11. thanks Trav....appreciated
  12. yep, septic is 7 years old and water and electric are in place.
  13. never really fished a grub much.....seems I may hve to give it a try.....must be my typical shallow river fishing habits......need to add this to the arsenal on Pomme I guess though.
  14. now listed with Hoover Real Estate
  15. What is the traditional pattern end of March/Early April. I know it is not uncommon for Pomme to be high in the spring and I assume it will be pretty high this year with the dam work. So (thinking out loud here) water will probably be dirty and high at that time and bass will more than likely be starting to work shallow? Maybe in some flooded cover as the water warms? Am I too far off base here?
  16. Fishing a tourney at Pomme on April 2nd and I may need a partner for it. If I do, anybody here interested in hooking up? Just trying to plan ahead just in case.
  17. I was able to find 49-50 degrees on Sunday last week
  18. check some of the other posts here, someone had that info, I just can't remember exactly how much.
  19. Is it referring to below the Pomme Lake Dam or up the river from it?
  20. Thanks for the report.......there are definitely 2 different lakes there right now, the lake near the dam.....and the lake up the arms...
  21. I have used fluoroclear, and like it so far. Use KVD Line and Lure and have no issues, but I don't use anything but braid on spinning gear.
  22. No way that's your fault.....isn't that where you are supposed to keep your rods? With a lifetime warranty, I would be on the horn with the company....if they stand behind their product, you will be taken care of.
  23. welcome.....if you fish any of the waters here in MO then you can get good information here. Especially on the areas that don't get a ton of recognition. there are nice folks here that are big time help.
  24. thanks, just by looking at the map, it seems as there is a much more defined channel and better fishing structure.
