Now thats funny.. 10 condoms.. you don't think thats funny get the Hell outta here... good one.. thx Trav PK

WOW! that was so poetic.. I feel your pain there Trav.. I really do.. but it takes a lot of time to learn a lake.. I've been fishing Taney since 1980 and I go 3-4 times a year sometimes more and my time investment has rewarded me over the years where it's the water I know best.. and I've seen a decline in the 90's but it seems to me the quality of fish has improved since the mid/late 90's and it's hard to learn something else.. but I know I should.. What do you consider your favorite or home lake now.. just curious thx PK

That is a good question.. I've done that too and I'll assume most of us have,, I play them out and get them off as fast as I can.. sure is different when you foul hook-em in the tail.. PK

Sometimes the pain of fishing in the extreme cold has it's greatest rewards.. BIG FISH! I'm fishing in the team tournament next month, Can't wait.. sometimes the nastier the weather the better the fishing at least thats what I try to keep telling myself PK

I've had some Great bass fishing on Taneycomo.. Lots of Big Fat Kentuckies in the 16"-18" range.. fishing structure and beating the banks alittle above Rockaway and all the great water past.. Yes..Being Between to of the Nations top Bass lakes Bull shoals and Table Rock.. Taney gets over looked for Bass/Crappie.. but...well.. I'll just leave it at that... PK

Now thats a deal.. gonna see if I can get that worked out... see you Tuesday @ Queeny park.. Paul Kelley

I've been waiting to post my 2 cents of a fishing report.. but was going to wait until the violations thread ran it's course.. so here goes.. arrived @ Lilley's landing 3pm Wednesday put the boat in and went for more of a ride than tried to fish.. only seen 4 boats out Wednesday afternoon on such a Great day.. Thursday.. got out on the water @ 7:30am went to the dam,, they were running a lot of water so we drifted San Juan worms #8 and #10 scuds all colors and the glo balls I use on the current river... threw some 1/8th jigs in various colors also.. the San Juan worms did the best.. used the ones from Lilley's tackle store with the flash tied in.. caught a lot of fish,, biggest being 19".. took nice pics of that before releasing it.. felt good to release a nice one.. Great day and I'll bet we seen less than 10 boats all day.. Friday.. same thing.. up to the dam drifting scuds/ San Juans/ globalls/ pheasant tail nymphs.. didn't do as well as Thursday but had plenty of action and a great time.. didn't catch anything bigger than 16" friday.. and I think we might of seen 10/12 boats again all day.. Saturday.. got out early as we could, made one run to the dam.. and drifted back to Lilley's.. cleaned our fish.. loaded up and drove back home to St.Louis.. home @ 4pm... We had a Great trip.. didn't see a lot of boats for this time of year which surprised me.. I've been fishing Lake Taneycomo a min of 3 times a year since 1982.. I used to go 5-6 times a year back in the day.. but on this last trip.. I'll bet I fished for big fish more than 1/2 the time.. I get bored with drifting after a while.. I throw countdown Rappala's.. wiggle warts.. bigger jigs.. and crawdad style crankbaits.. but I didn't catch 1 fish fishing that way at all.. I caught a few on 1/8th size jigs.. but nothing on the count downs or other crankbaits.. on Friday mid morning I was throwing a #7 countdown.. and right as I started reeling in fast to make my next cast.. a HUGE!! Brown trout hit at my lure right as I was lifting it out of the water.. had me shaking and pumped me up to fish harder.. but to no avail.. It's been a few trips since I've even caught a brown trout on Taneycomo.. but I do give it hell.. I was almost rewarded Friday if I could of caught that one but not in the cards I guess.. Marsha @ Lilley's said she thought they lost a lot of the big fish from the flood.. is that possible? where would they go..? into Bullshoals ???... I just think the trophy fish are very few and far between.. and I can remember even catching sub legal browns often.. all year round.. dosen't seem that way anymore.. but I love fishing Taneycomo.. have turned many a friend and family member on to this wonderful fishery.. anyone have any thoughts on the browns.. thought with the new hatchery we'd see more.... not the case.. with me anyway.. Thx for your time this time until next time... who said that?... who else knows besides me... Paul

I have a 4 day trip planned to Taneycomo Wednesday-Saturday staying @ Lilleys and fishing from a boat..My favorite fishing is Taneycomo in the Fall/Winter.. We throw jigs.. cleo's / spinners and drag food, powerbait/nightcrawlers.. have you heard drifting called that?.. LOL! .. but I like to fish for bigger fish too during the day.. Throwing countdowns with my med bass rod and 8lb test.. sometimes do well.. but has been a few years since I've got into a lunker brown trout that way.. or caught many browns for that matter... anyone else have a different method ?.. We always cover the water from school of Ozarks to the dam... Thx for any tips... Can't wait for our trip.. PK

I'm coming down for a 4 day trip from the 11th to the 14th ans staying @ Lilley's.. seems when we make our plans we never hit it right.. but fishing out of a boat we always adjust and catch a lot of fish no matter how the waters running.. seems every time we go in late Oct or Nov the water is moving good.. I like to fish for bigger fish with countdowns and some crank baits and use larger jigs off and on thru out the day.. last year I was using a chrome Dome and was doing real well.. used my last ones and can't find them now.. they were 1/8th and 1/16th oz chrome head/ white maribu/ tied with red thread.. anyone out there know where I can find them.. Bass Pro and Cabela's do not and couldn't help.. Looking forward to my trip in less than 2 weeks

Most Comfortable Wading Boots
King Fish replied to flyfshn's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I've got the Chota STL wading boots.. I really like them.. very light weight and dry out fast.. have another fishing buddy that switched to them from simms and also like them.. I feel it was a very good investment to be comfortable.. was a up-grade from what I had.. good luck.. PK -
Excellent.. excellent... LOL! now that really narrows it down.. thx... PK
