  2. look like the parking lot was totally washed out. what does the old "catch and release are" look like ? im wondering if some of the wholes have been filled in with gravel. also how is the fishing there right now . makes me sick to my stomach when i see those pics
  3. sounds like someone needs a vacation
  4. i would really like to see pics of the tailwater if anyone has NEW ones right now of the water and the dam with the gates open. i would go down myself but there really is no use for me to drive 45 min one way and not fish :lol i bet the folks at the BDS have had a slow couple of weeks everyone be safe
  5. I saw Orvis now makes somthing ver sim to that ... did you tie that yourself ? i bet it will work pretty well

  8. some of yall are worse then high schoolers thanks for the actual information everyone if your going to bicker do it with personal messages
  9. has anyone heard or done any fishing there yet ? Grab your gear and get to Lake Brittany! Approximately, 1,000 of them will average 9-10 inches in length and the other 500 little suckers will be 11-12 inches. An additional 900-1,000 11-12 inchers will be added each month through March or April to make more than 5,000 trout stocked in that lake. Bella Vista lakes currently offer warm water species such as large mouth bass, crappie, and brim, but the winter fishermen will now have something to get excited about while fishing in the cooler temperatures. http://bellavistablog.com/category/bella-vista-news/ thoughts on this ? it will be interesting to see how this plays out and how the fish take
  10. This is indeed a great question. Also when was the last time the flood gates were open at the beaver dam? As far as where the living fish will be when this is over. As far as just guessing goes. I would bet they would be just above the houseman access. The reason im guessing this is becuase when they generate balls to the wall the river is still pretty calm in this area. Trout are pretty strong sure some will die off BUT i would imagine once the water comes back down they will come right back up the river. NOw i could totally be wrong so if i am im ready to take my lashing.
  11. i would suggest downloading google earth. i use it all the time to find fishing spots. once you get it up and running find northwest arkansas and 540 beaverlake / white river is all east of 540 your best bet would be hitting up 412 east and finding the roads that get you to where you want to be. Also i live in rogers and do a lot of flyfishing below beaver and i spin cast and flyfish above and on beaver. if you have any questions or need some company get a hold of me i just realized you said springfield and not springdale ... nevermind me :loco
  12. dang that the first time i have heard about spey casting, pretty cool im going to have to give that a wirl
  13. It will be interesting to see what the fishing conditions are going to be like this weekend. Has anyone ever heard about a shad kill happening at the bever dam? I know that if it does happen its rare. Also does anyone post or read this forum from the BDS ? I was wondering how the trade show went this week.
  14. i just bought a pair of orvis pro guide 2s. Are yall saying i should expect these to start leaking at some point next year? i only fish once a week. Ive never heard people talk about orvis waders leaking so soon untill now . also when yall DO send them in how long does it typicaly take to get them back from orvis ?
  15. my sons first fish and my sons first trout and yes he got that puppy in all by himself :cheers
  16. there is nothing wrong with fishing 30 feet from someone if its a busy day and there is no other or little room. Usually when im fishing its in areas that are not very crowed at all. Reading my post now that would sound harsh on some of the other busy river areas in the ozarks. Also its not like i would ever really yell at someone for such a reason cheers
  17. i have had more problems with my feet getting and staying cold then my legs. If you are going to wear breathables in the winter i suggest fleece pants with another layer or two AND elect heating socks with those i can be fishing all day in 20 degree weather and still be snug as a bug ... and if you have to run out of the area because of generation then you wont be sweating your butt off by the time you get to the car
  18. Even though im pretty much invisible on this site i will go ahead and chime in here. As for the boats i fish out of a kayak on a regular basis. I always when possible take my boat behind a fly fisher ( making sure im seen or heard right before i get behind them as to not get hooked on a back cast. Now if that fisher is positioned so i can get behind him i will do my best to stay out of or away from the hole they are fishing AMAP. They dont own the river if they want to cry about it at that point well that just a personal problem they are going to have to deal with. On the river the only thing that really GRINDS MY GEARS is 1) certian individuals down on the river whos voices carry very well and never seem to be able to shut their mouths 2) and two when someone walks in and positions themself about 30 feet upstream from you. ( this is really the only thing i will voice my opinion about) that being said SOME fly fishers do come off as being some of the most picky, emotional people i have ever met and three females live in my house
  19. weather sure was nice yesterday but there were quite a few people down in CnR zone i will have to explore below parker some when its busy like it was. i caught about 6 or 7 yesterday using the ever popular blue dun midge
  20. Kayaks work great but they do take a little bit if time to get used to. I own a perception swifty ( sit in ) and for me its perfect. it can go from the mullberry to the lake. It handles well in average white water but also tracks straight do to the grooves they designed on the bottom of the boat. I like the sit in because it protect against the weather. But if your going to be wearing waders the sit on tops will be better for that. After you buy a boat comes the best part. Accessories a must is a scotty rod holder they make them for spincast and fly rods now.
  21. your telling me. i wont lie when i see a private chopper fly over then come back and hover right above me looking down at me i tend to get a little nervous. even more so when your the ONLY one out on the water ... they were just some spin fishing though no worries
  22. http://www.helicopters4hire.co.uk/media/ro...4helicopter.jpg its was very simular to this model but i think somewhat bigger, but not as big as a army helicopter. It was solid green with some type of yellow decal on it
  23. nope dont think so ... only two guys come out of the woods after it landed. in civilian clothes im pretty sure it was someones private chopper. I was told it might be possible this was one of the big wigs for basic construction co. word is he likes to fly around elkins and cause trouble also. who flys a chopper in to go fishing :lol they had spin rods :drama
