  1. Brian, The whole stretch fished well. I felt that the upper half had more stockers along with smaller parr marked rainbows. The middle section to Mary Decker Shoals had a lot of clean finned rainbows. How about a Michigan Report. Matt
  2. My friend Mike and I fished Greer to Turner yesterday. High in the low 70's and partially cloudy. The Eleven Point is in great shape. There was a lot of big black stoneflies in the water along with a healthy crayfish population. The fishing was excellent. All of the rainbows put on a good fight. The average size was around 12-14 inches. We used weighted prince nymphs, bitch creeks (black and orange), don's crawdads, black stonefly, and egg patterns(orange, salmon, pink). Mike also did well on streamers. Anything big in the following colors (wine, brown, black). We caught and released about 45 fish for the day. No big ones to speak of just great numbers. Matt
  3. It appears that at least a couple 20+ inch fish have been caught below Turner in the last month. Has the blue ribbon water been producing fish like this lately? Or do bigger bows live below Turner and why?
  4. Sorry, I missed that midge theme. You can take my bighorn worm off the list. I think I will sit round 2 out. Matt
  5. George, What did your wife catch that big bow on and did you release it. Matt
  6. Sorry, No a San Juan Worm is not a MIDGE. Scratch it from the list. Matt
  7. Count me in. This past summer I got the chance to fish the Bighorn River in MT. We fished a two fly system. The top fly is what the guide called the Bighorn Worm. That is what I will tie - Bighorn Worm. Matt

  12. Don I like to use a double over hand knot in the butt section of my leader to fasten a yarn indicator. Some like a slip knot. In my experiences a yarn indicator works best in deep water (3 + feet) and good current. A good example in our area is the eleven point river. I like to change the weight on the leader or the length rather than the position of the yarn indicator. With all that said, a small water ballon with a puff of air in it works better. Put a small puff of air the ballon and put an over hand knot in the ballon. Fasten with one of the knots above and cut off the extra end of the ballon. The ballon rides higher and can handle more weight. Cost 2 cents. Good luck! MATT
  13. John The Prince Nymphs are in the mail. Matt
  14. Just an idea! Could someone make a subform for fly tying and entmology and list the rules of a fly swap as an article to refer to.
