  1. What would be a better location? I think it is a location that makes the most sense. It is easy to locate, traffic will be difficult to get there, but where in the area is this not a problem? They lost a ton of campground space, but $10 a night camping spots vs. the revenue from the new landing, not comparable. I agree there are a lot of greedy hands involved, but if you are going to put a project like this in the area, I think they picked the right spot. I know my wife is excited about it and I can't say that I'm not.
  2. Fished Beaver on Saturday, I didn't get to the launch ramp until 9:00 and was suprised at the few number of boats on the water. Caught one huge female right off the bat, first cast curse, did catch a few small males in the afternoon. Beaver is extremely clear and the fish spook easily with a boat, I would think wade fishing and at night would be the ticket. The season seems to be really spotty, several times this year we have caught 2-3 out of one spot in a short time period and that will be it. Can move up and down thinking the school had moved and nothing. Makes you wonder about the population. But the Walleye fishing should be great next year, couple weeks ago we caught more than a dozen Walleyes in two days of fishing, all 16-17 3/4 inches!
  3. On vacation next week and thought about running down to Norfork to do some striper fishing. I have never really targeted stripers, looking for advice for a rookie. I would prefer to catch them on artificials and would rather not hire a guide, I prefer to figure it out myself. I was thinking of launching around Tecumseh, with the low lake levels is there enough water, I am assuming that Stripers will run up the creeks along with White Bass, if so have they started the run yet? I am sure that he cold weather slowed them a little. Just looking for a little advice. Thanks,
  4. Thanks for in the info, I did not realize that it wasn't a corp lake.
  5. Need some info regarding restricting ramps on Taneycomo. I have launched on a certain ramp for several years, it is used very little in fact the most trailers I have seen parked at one time is 4, usually just us maybe one other. There was a new sign up saying that it was a local community ramp and that it cost 3 bucks to launch, not a huge deal paid the three bucks, but when we returned we were greated by a local resident questioning us launching at the ramp. Found out that you can launch for 3 bucks but you can't leave your trailer parked there. He raised a pretty good stink about us launching wanted to know where we were staying etc... We expailaned that we were locals and had been launching at the ramp for the last 10 years. He didn't care, gave me a card to contact his lawyer, saying he had papers drawn up to make it a private ramp. It didn't get out of hand but it irritated me, I didn't know you could restrict a ramp on Corp of Engineers lakes, I won't luanch there again just because I don't want to deal with the hassle in fact it is really not a very good ramp but it is convienent and close to the area that I like to fish. I would just like to know the Law regarding public use of the ramp.
