  1. Main Lake docks and points..and Float Creek
  2. The jerkbait bite on Norfork is on.Jerkbaits are taking some nice fish on the lake.Seems like one day you get a bunch of short fish and the next day you catch all overs.Grubs are also taking bass but most are unders.Spoons continue to take a mixed bag of fish.I here that Bink spooned up a 8 or 9lb LM bass in 30 foot of water on Tuesday.A bonus on jerkbaits is that occasional walleye. The crappie are also biting good around the docks and brush piles with lots of reports of limits of big slab sides on crappie jigs.
  3. We have talked about jigs, Jig rods, and line. What are your Preferences for winter time jig trailers ?

  6. The 26 Raker is SOLD
  7. It seems that the bass are reluctant o hit a jig and Chigger craws the last 2 weeks.I have been doing best moving fast fishing points and channel walls with a jerkbait looking for the reaction bite. The most aggressive jerks with long pauses has worked best for me.I have been using a 3" Lucky Craft Bevy shad the more flash the better.
  8. I have the same motor and had the same problem.I called my mechanic and he knew what it was right away. That motor has a small pre tank that vacuum fills with gas and that will let you run at Idle speed but if the fuel pump is bad or clogged it wont fill fast enough to to increase the speed. As I remember the way he tested it was when you increase the speed and when it starts to shut down pump the gas bulb if it continues to run the pump is bad.If it still stalls out there is something in the line blocking the gas flow....The only other and more likely possibility is that the power packs 1 or more are bad especialy if alot of gas is coming thru the exhaust
  9. Here are the new lines that I really like and now use.... Mono... Suffix is the smoothest casting mono line I have ever used with great knot strength. The only thing I dont like is that it seems to get brittle in real cold weather when the ice is forming on the guides, and I have had problems with fish breaking off on the hook set under those conditions. Fluorocarbon...I use Berkley 100% on my baitcasting reels and Spider wire 100% on my spinning reels they are very good Fluorocarbon lines. Here is a Product Review I did on the Spider Wire 100% I was able to field test the new Spider Wire 100% fluorocarbon before its release..It is the softest smoothest casting, designed to eliminate memory as far as fluorocarbon lines go due to its smaller Dia..Its super tough with great knot strength and smaller dia. than other fluorocarbons its 8lb line is the dia. of other 6lb lines.Spiderwire Ultracast 100% fluorocarbon line will have a little less stretch, but greater strength per diameter. It is now on the market and has addressed the problems that most fluorocarbons have had in the past.If your not satisfied with the fluorocarbon you are now using Give it a try you will like it.About $17 t0 $20 for a 200 yrd spool.
  10. I wouldn't worry about it.I catch fish all winter long on Norfork.Norfork is probably one of if not the best winter lakes in the Ozarks.Jerkbaits,Jigs and Crankbaits in that order are the top 3 baits for me and work all winter long.
  11. I have 2 Raker II V6 props new still in the sealed boxes for sale $300ea plus shipping.. 1/ 14.5 X 25 RH 2/ 14,5 X 26 RH
  12. I am fishing the cove at 5A and below. Also the fast dropping water has moved the fish back off to the first old lake drop offs....Jerkbaits,crankbaits,jigs and spinnerbaits in the wind are all working.A friend took home some small Spotted bass and said that everyone was full of crawfish. He and his partner use craw colored crankbaits and caught 45 fish and 9 keepers.
  13. Yep,I decieded to give one a shot last week and low and behold I started getting fish been catching fish all week on them.Jerkbait bite is defanetly starting early this year.
  14. This last week the jerkbait bite has kicked in for Bass.My favorite bait in the winter.Olive X-Raps and Black and chrome Rouges are both working for me in Float Creek
  15. I would also say that the Berkley Lighting rod would be a good choice. It is a IM-6 rod and has a parabolic action to it that is great for crankbaits. My choice would be a 7' med action. As far as the Bass Pro shop crankbait rods the ones in that price range that I have cast were to heavy and felt like they were tip heavy when casting.. not a rod that I would want to have to cast all day long.

  20. I guess that I am just lucky.I have had 5 Motor Guide trolling motors over the last 30 yrs. and never had a problem with any of them.I wouldn't think of buying another brand.
  21. Jigs have got to be the most versatile baits an angler can possess. You can fish jigs shallow or deep, and as slowly or as quickly as you like. And no matter what you do with them, they catch fish. The type of cover and the depth your fishing dictate the size and shape of the jig head itself. On rocks and along open areas, I like football heads, and I use anywhere from a 1/4-ounce to a big 1-ounce head. But most of the time I find myself using 1/2- or 3/4-ounce sizes.I like to fish a jig slowly just crawling it along the bottom and letting it ease up and over anything in the way. When I'm moving a jig along the bottom, I take up the slack by pulling gently on the rod until I feel it hit something then reel up the slack. Then I give it a little hop. Here in the Ozarks I use jigs mostly in green and browns with Green pumpkin, watermelon, and PBJ and combos of these colors my top choice.I like to use twin tail grubs and chigger craws for trailers and I like my trailers to be a different color than my jig.Like a PBJ jig with a green pumpkin trailer or a Green Pumpkin jig with a watermelon trailer. For line I like Berkley 100% 14lb fluorocarbon. My rod for open water I like a 6'6 MH fast tip and for pitching cover I use a 7' MH and 17lb Berkley 100% JIGS.. you're gonna catch fish on them. Guaranteed
  22. I have 3 used Team Daiwa V 103Hi reels for sale. They have the normal mild boat rash but work perfectly good $100 for all 3 +$15 to cover PayPal and shipping...SOLD
  23. This last week has started to show some bigger fish on jigs in 20 to 35 ft on the deeper channel banks and main lake points. There are still lots of smaller fish on the banks back in the creeks and a spinnerbait cast next to bank will get lots of the 10 to 14" fish with a keeper size fish thrown in once in awhile.Cranks and traps are also taking fish although mostly smaller fish. There is still some early morning top water action although its spotty. The jerkbait bite should kick in soon...I HOPE.... NOTE: I am starting to catch more fish with craws in there mouth instead of shad.Jig colors:The Craws are dark green with little tips of orange on the claws and legs..ITS JIG TIME
  24. This is the silver box..SOLD out of 14lb still have 3 - 17lb spools left
