  1. Give "US Boatworks" in Kansas City a call, 913-342-0011. They are a boat salvage yard. I'm sure they'll have what you need. Brent
  2. I'm headed down to Waynesville in the morn. I've got some test drilling to do on a hillside there in town. I keep telling everyone there isn't enough rock in it to blast out but I reckon I'll have to show them. I'm hoping to finish up Thursday evening so I can stop by Bennett on my way home on Friday. Dang Cricket I was looking for another guy with a spinning rig but all I saw were fly fisherman. I saw several dead fish but I think they came from the hatchery. Hope I see you down there another time, maybe I'll run into Laker there too and he can give me some fly fishing lessons !! Brent
  3. Hi Guys, I got started fishing about 10:30 and fished till a little after 3:00 Fishing was pretty good. I didn't hook any big fish but had fun none the less. I caught 21 Rainbows,1 Brown and 2 over grown shiners. The biggest fish was about 2 lbs It sure was nice to get outside and do something. I mainly fished below the dam down through zone 3 I've got a RC swap meet next weekend but I'll be back down the following weekend. Lets us know how ya did Cricket
  4. OK Cricket, I'll keep an eye out for ya. I'll probably be below the dam myself. I'll be the tall guy with the funny looking camo and rabbit fur hat I've been down there twice since the winter season has been in affect and flat tore them up !! I hope the fishing is still good. I'm not sure if I'm gonna break the fly rod out or not, I'm kinda dangerous with that thing As far as lures, I'll probably start out with a John Deere jig and then something in a big sculpin pattern. It's hard to beat those 2 lures at Bennett. Brent
  5. I'm so tired of all this snow and subzero weather up here. I'm gonna head down to Bennett tomorrow for a day of fishing. I know it's going to be cold but I'm tougher than woodpecker lips !
  6. Those do look nice ! I gotta have one
  7. That would be me. 29 days counting
  8. Hey rcguy, Bring a plane, you can put it in a hover over the good spots to clear people out
  9. I'll be down there opening day too. It's a tradition with me that signifies spring has sprung. I see people complaining about the crowds on opening day but last year there were times when I was the only one fishing the spring hole. Since opening on a Saturday it might get a little crazy down there. Look for a white 1 ton flatbed flatbed Ford diesel and that will be me. Give me a yell if you see me, I might be ugly but I don' bite Brent

Try a gray woolie on a silver spinner...That's my go to bait when spin fishing Bennet or try a John Deere jig under a float. Brent
  11. Hi Lamar, Thanks for the great info. I'll try and get by and pick up a few spoons and whatever else I may need. I'll take it I can launch my boat there if I give ya'll some business ? Looks like it's going to be a nice weekend. I live up in Higginsville and it's colder than a well digger behind, here this morning. I was down at Bennet last week and tore them up on silver and gray woolie spinners. See ya Saturday, Brent
  12. I never stop thinking about bills. LOL I need to pour a few more sinkers but other than that I'm ready. 53 days and counting. Looks like I won't have to call in sick this year because it's going to open on a Saturday. Chef Jim jut hooked me up with another Penn 114h reel, that should complete my arsenal. Where are you guys planning to be opening day ? Flat
  13. Hey Jerod, I'll be down there Saturday as well. Look for a 17' Lowe semi-v and give me a yell. Brent
  14. Thank you guys very much. I'll give the Powerbait a try. Is there any special way to drift the Powerbait ? How is fishing up from fall creek using spinning tackle ? It looks like it's going to be a little warmer this weekend. I was down at Bennet last week, the water was up and cloudy but I tore them up all day. I even managed to catch 4 browns, which is kind of unusual there. Thank you, Brent
  15. A couple of buddies and myself are headed to Taney this coming weekend. It's been years since I've done any fishing down there. I'm planning on bringing my boat. Where would you guys recommend I put in at ? Where should we start looking for fish and what are they biting on ? My buddies don't fly fish so we'll be using ultralights. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Brent
